Lollypop Farm Humane Society Of Greater Rochester - Giant cow outside by the petting zoo!

This has to be the most beautiful, well maintained SPCA I have ever visited. The building itself…read morelooks epic from the parking lot. (And there is a good sized lot for parking, by the way!) Flowers were planted everywhere. You can see a big metal heart, a gigantic cow, and signs for the petting zoo and the farm walk. We started inside. When you first walk in you are greeted by the gift shop. Lots of fun things here. My daughter of course was totally entranced by this part of our adventure! Then we started with small animals. We saw bunnies, rats, ferrets, and turtles. They all seemed content and well cared for. Everything looked and smelled clean. They had hammocks, toys, food and water, and space to play. The kitties were next. Though the cages are always smaller than you'd like to see due to necessity, almost all of the them had a box, a bed, and a litter box, and quite a few were doubles that had places to climb, toys, and "privacy" visors for kitties who just wanted to nap in peace. There were a couple of larger rooms with cat towers and other fun things for free roam time and visitors! We saw the dogs last. There weren't too awful many, and most of the rooms were signed "staff only". So that part was a little bit disappointing. I would have loved to have a little more interaction with the pups! We wandered outside after that to scope out the petting zoo, which was closed at the time of our visit, and then the farm trail. We LOVED this part, as we got to see horses, cows, pigs, and ostriches! There was also a really beautifully done pet cemetery, complete with "rainbow bridge". If you're an animal person this really tugs at those heartstrings. You know what I'm talking about! The whole farm trail was just so beautifully done and well maintained. And it made for a decent walk, too! On our way back to the parking lot we saw some other things that caught our eye, like sidewalks bricks that were laid "in memory". Right next door is a playground, too! Absolutely 100% recommend for pet adoption, volunteering, or if you are just looking for a fun place to meander like we were.

Lollipop Farm is composed of a board of individuals that turn a blind eye to animal abuse. They…read morehave refused to step in and help dogs that were chained up outside in temperatures well below zero. In fact dogs have froze to death due to their negligence. They also have lied to animal advocates regarding dogs being kept inside an abandoned "house" without heat, food and water- stating that they were taking a dog that was in a crate and had eaten his way through the side- and was stuck and bleeding, for help. Animal advocates watched them back a van in to "take the dog for medical help" while numerous Rochester PD stood guard on the property. However, it was later learned that they never removed the dog- it was all a staged game. Lollypop takes in thousands and thousands of dollars- pays their board of directors massive salaries and continues to abuse and mistreat animals. STOP SUPPORTING THIS TRAIN WRECK!! THEY ARE USING PUBLIC DONATIONS TO FUND THESE SALARIES-NOT PROTECT ANIMALS. After walking through the above mentioned house - through feces and urine and finding more than one dog in this type of situation, Reno DiDomenico, from Lollypop, stated that they don't take action because nothing is wrong. You do the math.

The staff there is A+ noone pet shamed me for bringing back a deceased bird and everyone was smiling. I waited until I got home to be surprised and the bird he picked for me and OMG is she beautiful. My parents brought the family dog Watson here to get her nails trimmed on 10 February 2020…read more Unfortunately, the grooming technician cut them wrong and her toes have become swollen and infected (see pictures). So far, it's cost us $230.32 in veterinarian bills just to treat the damage done by PetSmart when they failed to correctly trim her nails. This, of course, is in addition to the $21.60 we paid for a service they performed so poorly that we had to see the veterinarian twice so far. My father called PetSmart on 18 February and spoke to the manager about the injury they caused. The manager said they would get back to us the following day and, on the 19th, they called back to claim that they "looked at the tape and the dog didn't move" so therefore they assumed that a dog nervously sitting still was fine and they don't care enough to do anything about the injuries they caused, which the vet says may include loss of the nails. Also, as part of the grooming package, they were also supposed to clean Watson's ears and we found out from the vet on the 20th that they hadn't been cleaned. If everything had gone fine, they why didn't they also clean her ears? PetSmart is PetCruel. If I could give less than one star, I would.
