Lazar's Chocolates makes fabulous chocolate! I ordered a bunch of different items, mostly dark chocolate, for Passover for my family. They made outstanding dark chocolate (72% cocoa) treats for us -- wow, they are so wonderful! (I'm still finishing some...Rich, deep and well-balanced. It's as good as the fanciest Laderach or Vosges, both of which I love.) The service was terrific, and the staff extremely helpful for this long-distance order. They shipped the items to me in North Carolina in great shape, well packed, and unbroken. I'm a believer! I'll be back! read more

This is a cute spot. You can tell the chocolate goodies are homemade. You can see a little bit of the set up in the back. Yes they are very pricey so I won't go often. Probably once in a blue one. The staff were nice. They have a good variety of snacks. read more

Underwhelming and overpriced Dubai chocolates. I purchased the mini Dubai chocolates (4 pieces) for $19, but the filling was pasty with minimal kataifi. The chocolate itself was overly salty and hard to bite into, unlike authentic Dubai chocolates, which are typically softer, sweeter, and have a crunchy kataifi filling inside. read more

I really struggled writing this review. The chocolate here is absolutely amazing. However, given the price and the rude staff I had to knock it down a couple stars. The chocolate is sinfully scrumptious. Depending on the kind you're getting it can get as expensive as $20-40 per box of chocolate. I ended up getting several of the truffles. The champagne ones are by far my favorite! This shop has a great variety of items as well. Not just chocolate! They make gorgeous gummy candies too. The only thing I really did not like was the staff. I came in 45 minutes before closing and felt ignored the entire time. When I asked if they had an recommendations, she said you can read the list. I wish I had better words to describe the tone, but I just felt like I was being rushed out of the shop. All in all, amazing chocolate. I would definitely add this to my gift rotation. However, I would not come here as often based on the service I received. read more

I visited Lazar's Chocolate this weekend and it is stillll deeeelicious as ever with all your favorite dipped chocolates and other candy shop offerings! Quick and friendly service unlike a recent experience i had! The store really is a feast for the eyes (and your tummy, of course) because there's so much to choose from! And even though it's summer, they have their regular hours and the chocolate is pristine! Check out my photos of my forever favorite, molasses sponges. They're hard to find and Lazar's happens to dip with a pretty thick covering of chocolate; note the sides of the candy! They even did a drizzle on top which is different than all other sponges I've had...and I've had a lot over the years. Typically a chocolate sponge is not as thickly dipped and smooth. With Lazar's sponge, you could actually spend a bit of time biting/sucking off the chocolate, but who can do that? You've gotta put the whole thing in your mouth at once, it's too good to wait! And if you're a chocolate chip cookie lover as I am, and a Tate's one at that, they even do chocolate dipped Tate's...shouldn't be legal!!! read more

My family received a hand packed boxed (house selection) of chocolate for the Christmas holidays this year. You see, I'm a chocoholic! I love chocolate whether it be white, milk or dark, filled with caramel, mint, raspberry tart; you name it! Lazar's chocolate is one of the best I've tasted in a while. The chocolate was smooth and sweet but not sweet enough to the point where I usually go "okay one is enough, this is way too sweet". [I'm talking to you! all you generic chocolate brands!] The chocolate was sweet yet it was savory. It came in an assortment of milk and dark hocolate that covered assorted nuts, truffles, chocolate with coconut flakes, etc. The box is still half full after Christmas and it can last well over the new year. I like this chocolate and would consider ordering more for special occasions. The price for these chocolates were decent, but in my budget it's a bit pricy if you're planning to send everyone you know a box of these as the price can add up in the long run. If you have the time; Order from Lazar's. They're a good brand whose chocolate doesn't taste generic, overly sweet and boring. read more

I discovered Lazar's almost 25 years ago. They are the best chocolatiers in the Greater Metro area. I love fancy Hand-Dipped chocolates and this is the only place I go when my sweet tooth strikes. A one pound box hand packed box is $35.98 per and worth every penny! I'm partial to the Chocolate Walnut Patties; Chocolate Cashew Patties and Chocolate Covered Graham Crackers myself! They even make sugar free chocolates (Hard-pass ....) but if you're on a restricted diet this is the place to go! The staff are wonderful and they know their product! read more

This chocolate is as good as it gets. When my adult daughters were little and we went strolling down Middle Neck Road, they lobbied hard for a Lazar's treat. And to quote my 88 year old mom "Lazar's nonpareils are the best" . I guess they appeal to all ages. Nice small town vibe in the shop, especially with the sons joining the business. We've sent holiday gift baskets to clients over the years, and the presentation always made a huge impact as well. Highly recommended. read more

Lazar's Chocolate is so nostalgic for me because my grandmother would always ship my Dallas, TX-based family delicious and festive wrapped candies for every holiday, like Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Valentine's Day. She also shipped several boxes to my father's family in France, so we'd get to experience the delicious chocolate whether we were in the States or across the world. I was in their location earlier looking to buy some graduation bars but I was completely disgusted with the staff. I've bought their chocolate before and it's absolutely amazing but I'm definitely not going back after today. A young lady was helping me with some ideas, and while I was looking around I saw that another one was touching and playing with the chocolate behind the glass case. She probably had 10 or 15 pieces of chocolates laying on the counter and playing with them. She was absolutely rude with the customer behind me, she kept throwing the bag of chocolate on the counter and seemed so annoyed to be there. The trip to Lazar's in Great Neck provided my work colleagues some great chocolates, my family some chocolate covered pretzels, and me an experience of great service in a comfortable, no-snob environment. The chocolates are very very good. I was offered gift wrap for the boxes and got nice Santa wrap (I'm sure the wrapping choice is different for the kosher candies). The chocolates I chose for work were about $32 a pound, so know that no-snob doesn't mean inexpensive. But oh so good! read more
