I have been to a few threading places, and for the most part they have all been good to me, but I got my eyebrows done today and it was superb! I feel awful because I didn't catch the girl's name, but the kind young lady with braces did the best job for threading I have ever received. I believe she was the only one in the store at the time, but really made me feel at home. I think one thing that lacked at other threading places that she specifically excelled at was her conversational skills. We got to talk and she even apologized for the tears that the threading gave me, which is obviously par for the course. I will definitely be back and hope to get her again! read more

I'll call it (her) the WEED WACKER experience!!! Yup, I knew something was up when Damisha(?) (spelled phonetically) started threading WAYYYY above the brow and into the forehead area! Like WTFfffff.... I thought she was going after my frkn hairline! Hell, I REALLY should've said something when she started to go ham-a-lamb with them damn scissors too!!! Braced myself for the worst... Yup, nightmare! Brows are beat-up and tore-up. I specifically said to ONLY clean-up and keep my brows full which was NOT respected. This lady spliced, cut, and threaded my eyebrows so damn much that they look ridiculously thin,patchy, sparse and like prickly weeds on the outermost part--plus my arch is gone!!! Afterwards, when I brought all this to her attention, she said, "... I had no hair in those outer areas" which according to her presumably contributed to actually over threading & trimming the area?! Yeah, no, I don't thinks so! Rhetorical question here, but threading is NOT A ONE SIZE FIT ALL friends! I would've thought she'd have "SOME" sort of communication or common sense about her to communicate her findings and what she was doing--NOPE fat chance! And sure, they'll grow back...eventually! HOWEVER, I have such an important event soon. Adding to the anxiety is the heightened embarrassment at what my eyebrows look like now. Instead of feeling optimistic and looking forward to enjoying and entering this important and anticipated event with confidence I am incredibly embarrassed, humiliated and self-conscious. First time for me. Aging eyes not so reliable for tweezing facial hair anymore! Based on the recommendation of a long time Layla client, I left a phone message to make an appointment. Then, while out running errands, I stopped by to see if I could confirm the appointment in person. The threader waved me to a seat as she finished up a client. She hadn't heard the phone message yet, but would I like to sit down now and do my chin and lip areas? Sure! Told her it was my first time so she was good about explaining the process (which can be a bit painful in more tender spots) and coaching me though it. Within ten minutes, she was done. There wasn't a hair to be seen! This is now on my routine "To DO" list. So much easier and more effective than wrestling with a lighted mirror and tweezers! read more

Great place to get your eyebrows done quick. I've been here numerous times through the years and usually only see one woman there. I prefer her to the younger woman. The woman that helped me was nice, but didn't follow instructions at all. My eyebrows are THICK and I asked for a very simple clean up. We discussed thickness. One of my eyebrows is naturally thinner than the other, but somehow she made my thin brow thicker than my naturally thick one, and she went HAM on my thicker one... now my brows are weird and thin and if I raise them I look insane. Not bad for the middle of, well, not much... but I would have been happy with a couple hairs plucked with a tweezer. read more

Been going here for years, but will not be going back. Eyebrow threading price has increased by 50% (used to be $10, now $15) and they also would not allow me to use their restroom to wash my hands before having to touch my face during the threading process. They said it was due to covid, but I've been going here throughout the pandemic without that being an issue. I went here yesterday for the first time and was very happy with my eyebrow threading! I've never done threading before (always went to a waxing place or just tweezed them) and I have been growing my eyebrows out for months so I could get a new shape. I was nervous for a few reasons: pain and trusting my eyebrows to someone new. In high school a woman waxed one of my eyebrows super thin the day of my prom so I'm very sensitive about "thin" eyebrows. I also don't like the overly arched "glam" eyebrows you see on a lot of makeup instagrams so I brought in screenshotted pictures of thick eyebrows with only a slight arch/curve for reference. I called just before driving there and didn't have to wait. The woman - unfortunately I didn't catch her name - helped me immediately. I went over what I wanted / didn't want and the entire process took maybe five minutes. The pain wasn't bad, just like a rubber band being snapped on your skin and a little soreness after. The shop was very clean and well maintained and I'm happy with my eyebrow shape. For $11 (+ tip) it was a steal... eyebrow waxing at the salon by my house was $25. read more

FROM MY FACEBOOK: That was a weird visit! I walk in and the associate doesn't greet me in the standard greeting but rather "I haven't seen you here before!" Ok, so next she notices my tattooed eyebrows and says "you would look weird without the tattoo." It's now time to pay and she asks if I want to add a tip. I answer yes 15%. On a $10 charge would be $1.50. She says we aren't allowed to do "cents" on a charge. So I hand her $1 and call it a day. I am a complete newbie to eyebrow threading. After my experience yesterday, never again will I go back to waxing my eyebrows! The threading process didn't hurt nearly as much as my previous experiences with plucking or waxing, both of which are very aggressive to your skin. The whole threading session was quick, lasting less than 5 minutes. Note that I also have very sensitive skin. Usually my skin has extreme reactions to treatments, sometimes looking red and bruised for several days. After my threading session yesterday, though, I had slight pink spots where my eyebrows were threaded, but this subsided within only 1 hour. Cheap prices (~$10-$11 for eyebrows), friendly service (the thread girl asked me what eyebrow shape I was looking for and offered to change whatever I didn't like), and awesome results! I walked in with what looked like 2 caterpillars about to go battle on my forehead; I walked out with a pair of perfectly shaped brows ready to show off to the world! Location is slightly off the beaten path. It's on Pickwick across the street from the Post Office, to the right of the Urgent Care. Go there! You'll be hooked, too! read more
