The nice thing about Dolce is the quantity of items they have on hand. I came the day before Thanksgiving and was surprised to see that they still had many pre-made cakes. I've tried their cookies and cream cake along with the mixed berry tres leches cake. I also ordered a small individual cake for my boyfriend's birthday. Dolce does a really good job ensuring their cakes retain their moisture. However, flavor wise, some of the flavors don't necessarily come through or aren't quite as strong as you'd expect according to the name. Found this little gem of a bakery while we were driving around in Upland. It's just walking distance from where we had lunch. So many delicious choices to choose from. I fell in love with the strawberry Fresca! It's so light and airy. With each bite I love the strawberry slices and whipped cream. Next time we're in the neighborhood, I want to try other cakes. 5 stars are not enough. The pastries here are amazing. I got the ding dong 2 chocolate covered strawberries and a cream cheese flute. The flute was suggested by the manager as one of his favorites so naturally I had to try it and it was not a let down. The crust was flaky and soft. full of flavor. The chocolate at the ends with the nuts were just the right touch. Had I known how amazing this was I would have gotten several. All the reason to go back for more and tell everyone I know to get it. One day can change the rest of your life. Somehow, many years ago, I stumbled upon this place just as they were opening up and have been a loyal customer ever since that day. I like the bistro food items (soups and salads are awesome) but their desserts are what keeps me coming back over and over again. Can I begin by saying how beautiful all the cakes, cookies, patisserie all looked. After all, our eyes eat first, right? After a few minutes of critical thinking, I got a slice of the German Chocolate cake and two alfajores. The German Chocolate cake was decadent but not super rich (which is great), although I would have wished for slightly more coconut walnut filling in the middle. The chocolate butter cream was just the right level of sweet, and a bite of all three - moist cake, coconut walnut filling, and chocolate butter cream - followed up with a cup of coffee, was super satisfying. I ate half the slice shortly after coming home and the other half as afternoon snack the following day. Alfajores is one of my favorite cookies (I absolutely love Porto's version) and would always get it whenever I see it at a bakery. These hit the spot! Just think, caramel sandwiched between butter cookies - how can you resist :) I recommend coming here for any cake needs, whether whole cake or a slice for a pick-me-upper or just because. I think I found my favorite flavor! I don't know why I waited this long to try it! The mixed berry tres leches is spot on! I ordered it for my daughter's 7th birthday and it was a hit for the kids and adults alike! The cake part was super moist but not runny so it wasn't any messier than regular cake and the sweetness was PERFECT! Not overly sweet but not bland at all and the custard and whipped frosting also had great flavor and were the perfect compliment. I love that their showcase cakes are simple yet elegant. They make great cakes for any occasion or you can add bits of your own decor if you don't want to go the custom route. Their dining room is closed and I believe the kitchen for bistro may be closed as well. We ordered a Napoleon, creme brûlée, lemon and raspberry cake slice, creme puff, and a creme brûlée cake slice. I enjoyed all the desserts bought. Some are sweeter than others like the creme brûlée, but all had a nice flavor and very delicate cream. I'm writing this review on behalf of my niece and nephew who just got married and ordered a cake from this bakery, to begin with some guy who was not even a baker and clearly didn't know what he was doing took their order. Let's begin my niece got married outside in Hesperia which is dessert. And the guy let her order a whip cream frosted cake. That cake would not last in the dessert heat, and the first guy that took the order told them to just keep it inside and have the air on..... ummmmm.... Whhhat.... Lol how do we move it than? He also sold her too much cake even to where the owner had to call 1 week before the wedding saying it has to change. Well thank God she called and fixed the order to fondant to withstand the heat. She even brought the cake on her own time to be here at the right time. Once it was time to serve the cake the support system that supported the cake was under the fondant. So we had to basically rip it apart just to cut into the cake. The whole cake was super dense and dry definitely way over cooked. And under the fondant the literally flooded the buttercream frosting so unevenly in some parts there was more frosting than cake. the fondant was the worst fondant I've ever tasted. I am posting pics of what the cake looked like. Because it was even crooked and leaned. Oh and did I mentioned they over charged us for the cake? 1300$ when a simple google search shows 600$ for over 100 guest. So idk seems like a bit of bad business practices is going around. I used to go here often when it was called Dolce Bakery, run by different owners. Recently went into get baked goods and saw one of the staff touching cash. So I asked the other person getting my baked goods if she can wear the gloves which were sitting right on top of their counter for staff to use. However, she said with an attitude "we don't have to wear gloves, but I can". Dude, if you're touching my food after handling cash or whatever, you're going to wear gloves because I didn't see you wash your hands. I don't need a lesson on what your opinion is. Love helping out the local business. This has been my go to place for cakes. My office always ordered cakes from here and so far all the ones we had was good. Whole cake they carry is so airy and not sweet at all and they are not cheap on the ingredients. Lately they have a cake you can make with any slide of cake you pick from which is great for parties or someone who cant decide on (like me). They also have other bakery goodies like cookie, bread, and smaller sized desserts. They also do custom cakes too and they have set of books you can look up inside the store. I had their coffee along with dined in there as well. They have a yelp check in offer last time I dined in and got their popcorn on the house. Lunch presentation is very cute and food portion is very good too. Although on a lunch break it can be little tight on time. Their happy hour specials are great and during covid-19 they have list of items you can pick up. P.S. I placed an order on Sunday the 13th for my daughter's 16th birthday cake. The person who helped asked what the text on the cake should say and what color, after I decided I paid and was to pick it up the following Sunday. When I arrived to pick up the cake the lady who helped brought out the cake without any text on it and I informed her that this cake was supposed to have something written on it to which she replied rudely "Ok" and I said it was for my daughter's birthday and again rudely replied "what is supposed to say" which instead she should have said something along the lines of "I apologize let me check your order" but no. She instead went to the back and very sloppy wrote "Happy Birthday Stella" in piping which I was under the impression that it was supposed to be nice handwriting stencil text. She showed me the cake and said "is this ok?" Which at the moment I had no choice but to take it since my daughters birthday was that day. At no point in time didn't she apologize or try to make it right and mind you the owner of the bakery(Asian woman) was standing there the entire time and also didn't say or do anything about it to try and make it right. Very bad experience and I was made to feel like I was being pushed out of the store with an ugly cake. I could have gotten a nicer cake at Costco for much less. read more

Still as delicious as ever but gotta say, they have a lot of pretty cakes in their photos but their strawberry cake was pretty ugly last year and this year it was even worse! They only had three slices of shriveled old strawberry up top. What a shame! Definitely doesn't do the inside of the cake Justice. My office had chosen 8 different types of cookies and bars for a office training event. I heard nothing but compliments from my co workers. They said the cookies were delicious. We've gotten cakes and pastries from here and they're pretty good. We ate in the bistro a few times too and that was good. One thing I just don't understand is that they won't allow people order cakes when it's close to Christmas. I have 2 Christmas birthdays in my immediate family and being able to order the cake ahead of time and know that I just have to pick it up is how I prefer to do things. Last year we did just go and pick one up because they wouldn't take my order, but honestly it bothers me that I can't have a sure thing so I'm thinking about ordering from somewhere else so that I know my cake is guaranteed to be there when I pick it up.
