Stopped by on Saturday, 2/7/26. Ordered the following to-go for my dad's birthday: - 1 Amore Slice = $6.95 - 1 Tiramisu Slice = $6.95 TOTAL = $13.90 Cake was too sweet and a bit pricey.
I got their strawberry Fresca cake for my daughter's birthday and the cake came out exactly how I envisioned it. The service was also great and the cake is really good as well, it's not too sweet. Inside was very clean and they have so many options for all kinds of deserts. I tried their crème brûlée after my tasting and it was amazing. I will come back every-time to get deserts from them.
This was my first time here! I will say, the bakery itself is super cute & clean! All the desserts look so beautiful. Service was great!! :) However I am really disappointed in the cake I chose (Neapolitan) I did not like it :( & my family did not either. I will definitely have to try something else next time.
I've been coming here for years and always forget to rate them and they are a great place so want to make sure I add in my 5 stars for them. This time I came about 30 minutes before close (they close at 7pm which I love because it allows me to come after work. My staff member asked for a non-dry cake for his birthday and I they delivered. I ordered the milk and berries cake this time and everyone loved how moist it was. So many compliments on the cake. A little pricey but definitely worth it for its beauty and taste. Oh, it's also a beautiful restaurant and the employees are friendly and parking is right up front. Triple win!

Layered Cakerie is located in a plaza across from John's Incredible Pizza (those with kids know what that is). There's an impressive selection of beautiful whole cakes and cakes by the slice, as well as various pastry desserts and cookies. They even have a good selection of drinks if you want to come in to enjoy coffee and dessert. Seems they specialize in catering as they have a dessert package for events that includes Rice Krispies, dipped pretzels, cupcakes, etc. Great idea for dessert tables at parties. I got a few slices of cake as well as some cookies. Average cake price was about $6.75 - which is close to what I paid at a cupcake shop in Upland, so I think this is a better value. Cookies are about $4.50 each. I got: Creme Brulee Cake Cookies & Cream cake Red Velvet cake Golden Isle cake (seasonal flavor) Coffee Toffee Chip Cookie Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookie Wow! Everything as so good! The cakes were surprisingly not too sweet, and the cookies were fantastic. The Mexican hot chocolate cookie was so fun, it had a hint of cinnamon with Dulce de leche sandwiched between two cookies. My favorite cake flavor was the golden Isle cake as it had so many of my favorite fruit flavors combined: mango creme, coconut cream, and had pieces of pineapple in it and toasted coconut on the side. Actually, my whole family liked that one the best also. But you can't go wrong with any of the cakes here, they are all great!
Been here a few times now since my partner likes this place. I've tried a few of their cakes and they're good but not a favorite of mine to get my own slice... so I usually just take a bite of whatever they get. The horchata tres leches cake is probably the best one I've tried and I would recommend. I also got my very own snickerdoodle cookie and it hit the spot. Very cinnamon-y and not too sweet. Since we went on Valentines day weekend, we also picked up their pink and white cookie which is always a decent coffee cookie for me. Oh, and their cinnamon coffee cake is recommended by my momma. In writing this I realized that our family just really likes cinnamon.
Very disappointed in the cake that was ordered. The strawberries were not fresh and they tasted fermented in the cake. Whoever wrote on the cake wrote it like a child learning to write cursive and didn't dot the "i" or cross the "t" in Birthday. It's unfortunate that the quality has gone down the last few times we've ordered. The service has gone down as well, not very friendly and either they act snooty or are dragging like they don't want to be at work. Not sure if we'll be ordering again!
I stopped by Layered Cakery today and immediately thought it was such a cute, welcoming little bakery. The space is bright and inviting, and everything was nicely displayed. They even have an area you can rent for small events like birthday parties or baby showers, which I thought was a really nice touch. I also want to mention that the customer service was wonderful. The staff member who helped me (I believe her name was Alicia, or it started with an A) was so helpful and thoughtful, and it really stood out. I picked up a dozen of their bite-size cookies for $5.75. They were small, but perfect for sampling, and they also have larger cookies priced up to $4.50 each, depending on what you're looking for. I haven't tasted the cookies yet, so I'm giving it a 4 for now, but based on the atmosphere, presentation, and overall vibe, it seems like a great local spot. I'm looking forward to trying them and coming back again.
Every year for my birthday, I get a cake from Layered Cakerie. It is great bakery! The price for an 8" cake is super reasonable especially for the quality. I typically do a tres leches cake for my birthday and we get build a cake for my husband's birthday in July. This year my birthday was Mother's Day so we celebrated both and got a cake everyone would enjoy. Any slices we don't eat have a plastic wrap in it so it's great for freezing and pulling out later when you want a treat. I call ahead and they place my order in advance so I can just pick it up. It's convenient, they are friendly and they also have lots of other treats you can pick up when you are in the bakery picking up your cake. I would highly suggest this for any event.
I needed a quick cake for my moms birthday and I was drawn to this bakery after reading some of the reviews. They are open 6 days a week which is super convenient and it wasn't too far from me. The bakery is clean and the cakes and pastries all looked amazing - I wanted to try them all! I purchased two different slices so that I could purchase a whole cake. I tried the Vanilla Chiffon with strawberries and whipped cream and it was good. It's not too sweet and the Chiffon was super moist. Next, I tasted the Horchata Tres Leches which I loved! My only wish was there was more milk mixture but, it was still amazing. I ended up purchasing the Mixed Berries Tres Leches since they were sold out of the Vanilla Chiffon with Strawberries. They are fairly priced and it was decorated nicely. I couldn't hold back and I also purchased a Blueberry Cookie and it was divine. It's kind of like a scone, cake and cookie in one and it's one of the best cookies I've had in a while. I definitely would recommend buying your pastries or cakes here for any celebration. Their service was also exceptional and very informative. I will definitely be back!
I definitely miss the Dolce restaurant that used to be attached to the bakery, but I'm glad the bakery is still here. HOWEVER, my experience is that the quality of the desserts are hit and miss. I popped in this evening to take advantage of their "Sunday Happy Hour" and the cake slices were pretty stale. I don't know how often they bake and prepare the to-go slices, but tonight I was disappointed. When fresh, the cake slices are worth the price. The small cookies are a bit pricey as they charge per cookie and not by weight. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and I will continue to support this small business with lowered expectations.

Needed a cake for my husbands 50th birthday. He wanted his favorite, a leches cake. Hard to find a good cake let alone a tres leches cake. So naturally I relied on Yelp. Came across Layered Cakerie and it had great reviews. Looked at the menu of desserts they had to offer and saw they had an horchata tres leches. I decided to head on over and check out this bakery. The minute you walk in you are greeted with smiles and great customer service. Everything looked so delicious and fresh!!! The bakery is extremely well lit and very very clean! I decided on the horchata tres leches cake. Let me tell you, I am not a fan of tres leches cake but this horchata tres leches was so deliciously fresh, moist and had the perfect amount of cinnamon and milk. Not too sweet not too soggy like most tres leches cakes. Definitely a cake I would get again. My husband and everyone who shared in his special day loved the cake. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other decadent desserts, especially their creme brûlée cake! read more

I stopped by this summer to pick up a birthday cake. I had never been before so I had high expectations. & let me just say they were met! I was staring at the cakes when one of the sweet staff members helped me chose a cake. Her suggestion was spot on and the guest enjoyed the cake! I purchased the berry tree leches and it was pretty and tasty. They customized the cake for me and it came out really nice. I was Perusing the cookies & they didn't rush me and actually shared their faves. The ladies were very happy, helpful and seemed to enjoy working there. So this isn't my first time coming here , I usually come for their pastries and desserts which are always a hit ! The service here and quality of food is also over the top the ladies are always helpful and nice as soon as you walk in the door you are greeted ! So this time I ended up coming in to get a custom cake made for my 3 year old son it was literally put in like 4 days ago and within that little time notice they still made it happen and man it came out better than I expected I won't even lie iam supper satisfied with how it came out ! I def will be back for future cakes and everything else idk why they weren't the first that popped in mind but def glad I wasn't slacking thank you ladies again appreciate you girls a lot ! read more

This place is so good! Every time I would get a cake here to celebrate a coworkers birthday they would all rave about how good the cakes were. They were always moist and rich in flavor. I also like how they have a stamp rewards system after ordering a certain amount of cakes. The staff was always nice and quick to help. They also offer a service to write a message on the cake! 5 stars are not enough. The pastries here are amazing. I got the ding dong 2 chocolate covered strawberries and a cream cheese flute. The flute was suggested by the manager as one of his favorites so naturally I had to try it and it was not a let down. The crust was flaky and soft. full of flavor. The chocolate at the ends with the nuts were just the right touch. Had I known how amazing this was I would have gotten several. All the reason to go back for more and tell everyone I know to get it. For COVID safety It is very clean and spacious with markers on the floor. Staff all friendly wearing masks. read more
One day can change the rest of your life. Somehow, many years ago, I stumbled upon this place just as they were opening up and have been a loyal customer ever since that day. I like the bistro food items (soups and salads are awesome) but their desserts are what keeps me coming back over and over again. In addition, they have very courteous and smiling staff, neat set-up and a casual environment. You know that saying, "don't talk about it, be about it"? Well, at Dolce they certainly live it. I'm so sad that their kitchen closed down, I was hoping to get eat their one day! But I have tried food from them because of the Mother's Day take home brunch they offered during the pandemic. The food was amazing, and my mom was blown away by everything included. Since then I have gone back for their desserts and they are amazing! Just went today to pick up a dessert with my yelp elite perks and I ended up buying 4 more things because no way can I leave with only one thing! They are too amazing! I recommend everyone check them out. (Btw, their service is always above and beyond amazing). Can I begin by saying how beautiful all the cakes, cookies, patisserie all looked. After all, our eyes eat first, right? After a few minutes of critical thinking, I got a slice of the German Chocolate cake and two alfajores. The German Chocolate cake was decadent but not super rich (which is great), although I would have wished for slightly more coconut walnut filling in the middle. The chocolate butter cream was just the right level of sweet, and a bite of all three - moist cake, coconut walnut filling, and chocolate butter cream - followed up with a cup of coffee, was super satisfying. I ate half the slice shortly after coming home and the other half as afternoon snack the following day. Alfajores is one of my favorite cookies (I absolutely love Porto's version) and would always get it whenever I see it at a bakery. These hit the spot! Just think, caramel sandwiched between butter cookies - how can you resist :) I recommend coming here for any cake needs, whether whole cake or a slice for a pick-me-upper or just because. There are ample selection so you will definitely walk out with a few treats! read more
I've come here a couple of times to get various cakes. Outside of cakes, they have other baked good such as pies, cookies, crème brûlée, etc. They have quite an extensive selection. The nice thing about Dolce is the quantity of items they have on hand. I came the day before Thanksgiving and was surprised to see that they still had many pre-made cakes. I've tried their cookies and cream cake along with the mixed berry tres leches cake. I also ordered a small individual cake for my boyfriend's birthday. Dolce does a really good job ensuring their cakes retain their moisture. However, flavor wise, some of the flavors don't necessarily come through or aren't quite as strong as you'd expect according to the name. Otherwise, I enjoy this bakery and love getting their cakes for special occasions. They also are willing to customize the cake for you on the spot by writing small messages. read more

Had never been here before but will be back soon! Despite the pandemic, they have a very wide selection of cakes and pastries. Their dining room is closed and I believe the kitchen for bistro may be closed as well. We ordered a Napoleon, creme brûlée, lemon and raspberry cake slice, creme puff, and a creme brûlée cake slice. I enjoyed all the desserts bought. Some are sweeter than others like the creme brûlée, but all had a nice flavor and very delicate cream. You can definitely tell all pastries were made with love and care! My favorite was the creme brûlée cake as it wasn't overly sweet and had lots of flavor! Service is also attentive and quick. Overall, I love this place and will be coming back to try more next time I'm in the area. You can also make your own cake out of the different cake slices they have ($36). read more
I'm definitely the kind of guy who has a major sweet tooth and Dolce definitely delivered! They have a really wide selection of cakes, pastries and a whole bunch of other baked goods, so it was really hard for me to try to decide because everything looked so good. I did end up getting the "Say Cheesecake" which is basically a mini cheesecake and a brownie (I forgot the name). They were both very delicious and would satisfy any sweet tooth craving. read more

I just paid $150 for an uncovered cake. How do you sell cake in boxes that are too small??? This is unacceptable! This has to be covered to go in my fridge. Management made the decision to cheap out on boxes. I put in a custom order for this. They could have gone out and bought a box big enough. $2.50 at the local cake supply store. Found this little gem of a bakery while we were driving around in Upland. It's just walking distance from where we had lunch. So many delicious choices to choose from. I fell in love with the strawberry Fresca! It's so light and airy. With each bite I love the strawberry slices and whipped cream. Next time we're in the neighborhood, I want to try other cakes. I had a cake consult with Irene and she was amazing! She was super patient with me and really took the time to brainstorm and gave me different options. I'm writing this review on behalf of my niece and nephew who just got married and ordered a cake from this bakery, to begin with some guy who was not even a baker and clearly didn't know what he was doing took their order. Let's begin my niece got married outside in Hesperia which is dessert. And the guy let her order a whip cream frosted cake. That cake would not last in the dessert heat, and the first guy that took the order told them to just keep it inside and have the air on..... ummmmm.... Whhhat.... Lol how do we move it than? He also sold her too much cake even to where the owner had to call 1 week before the wedding saying it has to change. Well thank God she called and fixed the order to fondant to withstand the heat. She even brought the cake on her own time to be here at the right time. Once it was time to serve the cake the support system that supported the cake was under the fondant. So we had to basically rip it apart just to cut into the cake. The whole cake was super dense and dry definitely way over cooked. And under the fondant the literally flooded the buttercream frosting so unevenly in some parts there was more frosting than cake. the fondant was the worst fondant I've ever tasted. I am posting pics of what the cake looked like. Because it was even crooked and leaned. Oh and did I mentioned they over charged us for the cake? 1300$ when a simple google search shows 600$ for over 100 guest. So idk seems like a bit of bad business practices is going around. The literal only saving grace is the owner fixed the first order and she delivered it in her own time. read more

Purchased a funfetti cake yesterday for my daughter's birthday, and sadly, the cake was not a hit. Normally these cakes are delicious, but this one was not our favorite. It tasted as if, it was previously frozen and as you can see in the pic the edges were burnt. It's unfortunate we had this experience since we kept raving about the cake to our guests. Either way, I'm still a fan of Dolce, but we will never purchase the funfetti cake again. read more
If you like good pastries this is your spot. They have a variety of cakes. If you are not sure on your commitment to a particular you can buy by the slice. They have slices of each and every one of them. That is perfect for me. I bought 3 different slices and man o man were they good. I also bought some cookies. Well my mother in law is now one of their biggest fans. The customer service is top notch. At times, we sat there and ate some of the pastries, they get lines but they move fast. read more

Updated review: we got yet another strawberry cake from here. Still as delicious as ever but gotta say, they have a lot of pretty cakes in their photos but their strawberry cake was pretty ugly last year and this year it was even worse! They only had three slices of shriveled old strawberry up top. What a shame! Definitely doesn't do the inside of the cake Justice. And I have to say I have never gotten a cake with fruit that bad of a shape on top! Really hope they can improve their decoration skills because I would love to order this cake again! read more

Love this place but I'm not too happy with the new management. The female manager that took my order did not tell me the smash cake would be plain and isn't really intended for eating but only to smash. Our sheet cake was delicious as always tho and we got so many compliments! I suggest placing your order with the male manager. He is a good listener and I've never had an issue with him in over 6 years. read more

Yes, money cakes are definitely something that Dolce can create but require you to bring in the sleeves to put the money in.
