Let me start by asking why haven't I heard of this place sooner? This place is amazing! Aside from the beautiful decor you are greeted by smiling faces. What really caught my attention was their colorful selection of goods. I was particular attracted to their cakes and I'm not normally a huge cake person. We decided to try the neapolitan cake, macaroons and an eclair. The wonderful cashier told me the cake was her favorite as they used raspberry flavoring vs the traditional strawberry. That made me more eager to get home and try this colorful cake! Most cakes that come from generic bakeries tend to be too sugary for me and if I do decide to eat cake I remove the frosting. This cake was definitely different. The cake part it self was not thick but fluffy and I'm not sure what kind of frosting they used but it wasn't the traditional frosting it was more like icing and even that wasn't overwhelming. As a matter of fact it complimented the cake very well! And might i say the raspberry flavoring was a great idea. The macaroons were also great. My daughter is a pretty up front person if she's not a fan of things as she's helps me write these reviews on her food. We both agreed these are decent sized and the right amount of soft and crunch! We haven't tried the eclair yet but I'm sure we'll be very satisfied. I would definitely recommend trying this place out and saying hello to the kind faces that work here! read more

Hello Sunday bottomless POMEGRANATE mimosas paired perfectly with the chicken and biscuits This is by far the best bang for your buck, place is always clean, servers are always polite and go the extra mile. I have never ordered a plate here and said "I didn't like it" or had to change my order(out of the 30+ times i've been here). The quality this place offers is insane & so so tasty. I've eaten here a couple of times. Few weeks ago all of my siblings and our families got together at this location for a nice afternoon lunch and i couldn't have been happier. The waitress was professional, courteous and patient. We had a table of 8 kids and another of 9 adults, she handled us all like a pro. I ordered a salad that had feta, apples and chicken. This review was for my most recent experience. My wife, son, and I went to dinner last Saturday (9/28) and ordered: Bone Marrow Tater Tot Poutine Porchetta Sandwich A Round of Au Poivre burger Issue 1 - Bone Marrow Poutine came out with little to no mushroom confit and the separate bone marrow was presented cold (coagulated). The server returned the bone w/ marrow to be heated up and returned the bone to us. The other issue we had was that this dish is overkill on the garlic. The garlic remained on our palates the rest of the evening even after brushing our teeth. Sounded good but the execution and presentation was bad (at least this night). Issue 2 - Porchetta Sandwich is served cubed versus a single slice. These cubes fall out of the sandwich when you take a bite. The majority of the cubes in my sandwich were nothing but fat, no meat. I counted roughly 2-3 cubes that had any pork meat in them. Perhaps a slice would ensure a nice mix of fat and meat. Flavor was decent, but didn't really like the preparation and majority of pieces of fat in comparison to pieces of meat. The burger was good, as all the burgers here usually are. We've been dining here, primarily for brunch, for a while now and the food is generally good more times than not. My one observation over the years has been inconsistency in quality and presentation of their dishes, perhaps based on who is in the kitchen that day. With this being a new menu, hopefully there is continuous improvement in the items. read more

Dolce is one of my favorite spots in Montclair. There happy hour deals are great. Craft beers and appetizers are what we go there for and their food is delicious! My most favorite appetizers are the shrimp nachos, buffalo waffle fries and cheesy tots. The tots are delicious with bacon and cheese and green onions. From the ambiance, to the drinks, to the food and the staff...everything was excellent. 3 of the four of us ordered the endless mimosas...who doesn't love bottomless mimosas?! I would recommend the pomegranate blend rather than the traditional OJ- it's a reversing change. My husband's chicken and biscuits was surprisingly incredible and the portion was unexpectedly large. The huevos rancheros were great as well! The staff is really what makes this place exceptional. Everyone that served us or came to our table genuinely engaged with us- just pleasant, real human beings. Some may say Dolce is pricey, but I would argue that you absolutely get what you pay for. First let me start off with saying I had high hopes for this place. Before I placed my order, I read reviews and looked for the specific cake I wanted to get. Mixed Berries Tres Leches. I called a week before and asked for a description of the cake because they don't sell this by the slice and I was hoping it would be something like the milk and berries from another bakery and it sounded good. I called back a few days later to place the order and by then I had read the reviews and some were good and others complained saying it was dry. I made it a point to ask for them to make sure it was wet, since that is what Tres Leches is supposed to be but boy was I disappointed. It was basically a regular white cake with strawberries and whipped cream, absolutely no condensed milk or any wetness for that matter. Tres Leches is my dads favorite and he got a regular white cake. I give this 2 stars because It looked nice, tasted good but it was NOT what I ordered or expected and that made this a very disappointing experience. I now know, where to go for my Milk and Berries cake and it won't be here. read more

This seems to be a great seller since my sister says it's sold out by the time she gets there. -Salted Caramel cheesecake: OMG! I have never had such great cheesecake before! It's nice and smooth, not too tangy from the cream cheese, overall the texture is on point! The graham cracker crust goes great with the filling! Usually I don't like salted caramel anything but this is an exception and it's soo good we get our own slices since my sister doesn't want to share! -Chocolate Ding Dong: Originally this is what brought my sister to Dolce she was eyeing their IG and said she HAD to have it! I can honestly say the hype is real! This isn't your hostess ding dong, this is so much better than that! The cake is moist and so fresh and the marshmallow filling is addicting! You can really get in trouble at Dolce! First review that was hard to debate rating, servers are super friendly, nice staff that has wonderful suggestions if you politely ask. The problem came with the food. Sweetheart that served me. The short rib grilled cheese comes with jalepenos that still have the seeds in them. That's not mild. That's spicy. Second was the appetizer WAY TO MUCH SEASONING. my Lord it felt like someone accidently dumped the spice rack into the bone marrow poutine. Bone marrow was beautifuly seasoned but the tater tots had way to much seasoning that it felt overwhelming. Granted they just changed the menu like 3 days ago that might have something to do with it but I will commend the staff for replacing my meal when I let them know about the jalepenos, sadly with my mouth on fire and my stomach upset I was not able to enjoy it. I then had to ask for the desert menu because they were ready to send me on my way um rude. But anyways the chocolate amour was really good. It helped my stomach . Dolce has grown their staff and may be working under new management but customer service has gone downhill. Family and I were in last night and after waiting for 10 minutes without anyone approaching our table, we decided to leave.
