Dr. Daneshgar's silence reflects his deep thinking about our issues. He suggests tests so he can have scientific evidence to suggest a treatment. Dr. Daneshgar never gave up on me, My original GI doctor didn't respond to numerous phone calls. A second doctor walked me to the door and told me there was nothing wrong with me. Dr. Daneshgar tried so hard during multiple visits to give me relief. Finally, he performed a colonoscopy, took a biopsy, diagnosed my problem and prescribed pills that gave me relief after only 2 or three days. I am so grateful. I have mixed reviews of this place. On one hand, I did get a general ova and parasite test from the…read morePA. However, I later learned that the testing I received did not specifically include Giardia or Cyclospora, which were strong possibilities based on my symptoms and history. I had to research this myself and schedule a separate appointment with the doctor to request the additional testing. If you are being evaluated for parasites, I would recommend checking your lab orders carefully to see exactly which organisms are being tested for rather than assuming a general O&P covers everything. I also think these two tests are generally not run because these are expensive tests that insurance might not want to fully cover (but don't quote me on this). In my experience, you are also more likely to initially see a PA rather than a physician unless you specifically request an appointment with the doctor. My appointment with the doctor ended up being by phone. My impression is that the physicians spend their time at the endoscopy center. The in office appointments are run by PAs that order the tests and procedures based on your symptoms. You only see the doc at the endoscopy center and they might follow up. I had to schedule an appoint with the PA to discuss the pathology results. I could not even view the results on the portal. I did get the photos and general findings on a printed piece of paper right after the procedure though. If you want a provider that messages back on the platform, this is not the place for you. It is very old school, schedule an appointment to do more tests or discuss your results. It's not like MyChart where everything is centralized. They are overdue for a new health management system. I wish you could message the provider after seeing them twice in person about ordering two additional tests. You have to schedule an appt for that. On the positive side, the staff has always been kind, and there is free parking in the garage in the same building. Overall, I wouldn't personally recommend this office based on my experience. I felt I had to do too much of my own research. Also if you are doing an endoscopy or colonoscopy, you will not be doing that here. It's a different location (Ventura Endoscopy Center).

It's always a chore to speak to someone at the office and being treated rudely and without compassion is unacceptable. Dr. Simon is very friendly and I believe she is a very skilled doctor but the lack of communication and her staff is making her look very bad. My review is for this gastroenterology office and their neighboring (next door) outpatient surgery…read morecenter. Seeing the lower reviews I wanted to come on to add some clarity and kudos where I can. Again, not always the kind of place a person wants to have to come but when navigating your healthcare needs it's important to find a place with professional staff, established doctors and an overall office that feels clean, organized and calm. I can understand some of the lower reviews for the wait times/hospitality at the main office. I've been here about three times and one out of the three times my experience was a little slow unnecessarily it felt like. But I just accepted that they were busy and sometimes there are things going on behind the scenes that those of us in the lobby can't always comprehend. I found my interactions with the front desk staff to be to the point, and while sometimes a little slow with the paperwork or getting me my materials, I still felt like it was a professional setting. On the back end all of the medical staff are really great in my opinion. The nurse practitioners that I have seen and the additional aids/surgery schedulers were all wonderful. Everyone was very friendly and I felt like my nurse practitioner was very kind and patient with me as we navigated some of my healthcare issues. I've been established with Dr. Rojany at this office over the years and he's honesty wonderful. Great beside manner, thorough, kind, attentive and makes your experience feel supportive. While my medical consultations with him have been sporadic over the years he has always been great and I would highly recommend him. I was re-introduced to him as I had to go into the surgery center for an outpatient procedure. Again, he was very kind and reassuring, and the process went smoothly for my procedure. To the nurses and staff working the surgery center next-door, I would give them 10/10 stars if that was a thing! Full transparency I'm a very emotionally medically fragile person lol from blood draws, to just being in a medical setting, I usually cry and have a lot of anxiety. Going in for a procedure where I was going to be given anesthesia was very anxiety provoking to me, but all of the staff that helped me were so kind and understanding. They made me feel safe, validated my experience, but reassured me that everything was going to go fine and just had really positive bedside manner to help get me to a place that I could calm down and get through with our appointment. There were so many lovely ladies that helped me. I'm sorry that I can't recall everyone by name, but I do think they just have an amazing stellar team here that if you have to have some Gastro follow up or procedures done this is the place to come in my opinion. Couldn't thank them enough for their kindness, care and professionalism.
