Specialties
The YMCA is one of the largest health and fitness organizations. If you're looking at our page, you're interested in better health, losing weight or another health and wellness goal. But getting started is the hard part.
At the YMCA, we view physical fitness as one part of a healthy life. Whether you want to have enough energy to play soccer with your kids, train for a 5K, or find fellowship in a Yoga class, the YMCA has a spot for you.
Joining the YMCA not only gives you access to all sorts of health and fitness amenities (like walking tracks, free group fitness classes, weight and strength training equipment), you also get a top-notch staff who love to help people set and achieve their fitness goals.
A supportive community is a big part of well-being. At every age and every level of activity, you will find people at the Y, just like you, looking to live a little bit healthier. We offer a competitive and variety of opportunities and activities to help you meet your wellness needs. We have the dedicated staff, programs, and facility to support your success in your pursuit of health and well-being.
Our Group Exercise program offers more than 100 classes each week and is FREE for all Y members. Our pools offer family swim time, youth swim lessons, lap swimming and more. Our gyms are open to everyone, from adult members who want to play in a pick-up game to sports and gymnastics lessons for kids.
History
Every day the Y's impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice,
when a mentor inspires a child and when a community comes together for a
common good. As a 501(c)(3) volunteer-founded, volunteer-led organization
the intent is to foster social connectedness, strengthen support networks,
and encourage investment in our communities which in turn serves to
strengthen the foundations of our community. The Merrimack Valley YMCA
provides millions of dollars each year in essential services and financial
assistance initiatives focused on youth development, healthy living and
social responsibility, aligned to the unique and diverse needs of the
communities it engages. The Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building
healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families and
communities.
