The Green Lotus Salon is nothing less than a 5-star experience. (And being Eco-Friendly is a huge…read moreplus). From the moment I spoke with the receptionist on the phone, until the moment I left, I was completely satisfied. As a resident of Cromwell, I've driven by Green Lotus many times, but today was the first time I decided to give it a try, and it was a great choice! I called Green Lotus late in the afternoon inquiring about an appointment for facial waxing either tonight or tomorrow night - and surprisingly, they were able to fit me in tonight. When I walked in, I was greeted with a smile from Monica, and she offered to hang up my coat and get me a drink. My appointment with Vanessa went very well - she introduced herself with a handshake and conversed with me throughout the appointment. I have some skin sensitivities and allergies, and Vanessa discussed these with me prior to my appointment and added them to my record. It even printed that I had an allergy on my receipt - so I'm very pleased to know they take that matter seriously! She really took her time and didn't rush through the service. If I were to describe both employees I dealt with, I'd say: Processional & Friendly. They both deserve a ton of credit for their great customer service - something that seems rare these days. The salon is very clean and the waxing room had soft, relaxing music in the background and a soothing fountain. I thought the price was reasonable and ended up booking a future appointment. If you want to get amazing service from a wonderful group of employees, check out Green Lotus Salon!

I should have called but everything happened so quickly that I honestly was not thinking about the days appointments. I was unable to pick up my phone when they called but when I realized what had happened I called right back from the hospital. They do not answer their phone so I left a message and sent an email explaining what happened, I received no response and they charged me $185.00 for missing the appt. My message stated that I understood I would need to pay a cancellation fee and asked if under the circumstances if they could refund part of the $185.00 Well as I said there was no response. I would have been a very good client for these people as I would have utilized a number of their services on an ongoing basis. I did make a mistake but I think this is a very bad way to do business and a terrible way to take advantage of someone. Sometimes things just happen!

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this salon…read more When booking my appointment, I was required to pay a $30 deposit for each service. I scheduled a gel manicure and gel pedicure and paid a total deposit of $61.40. Upon arrival, the owner, Yvonne, was occupied with a hair client. The nail technician was called from the back and had to gather all of the supplies for my appointment after I arrived. Nothing appeared to be prepared in advance. The pedicure station raised several concerns. The foot basin did not have a disposable liner, the chair controls were not working properly, and the remote was sticky to the touch. The nail technician appeared to have only an old nail file and a small cuticle tool for the service. The most troubling part of the appointment was the removal of my existing polish. Instead of using polish remover, the technician attempted to remove the polish by filing it off with a nail file. This was painful, and when I asked whether she had polish remover, she stated that she did not. The process took approximately 35 minutes and still left traces of polish on my toes. After soaking and drying my feet, the technician applied oil and then informed me that she did not know how to apply the polish. She said the owner would complete that portion of the service. I then waited approximately 20 minutes for Yvonne to return. She explained that she had been on the phone and mentioned that she was a teacher. When I requested white polish, she first suggested an old-looking bottle of purple polish with separated color. She then attempted to set up a drying lamp, but it would not work properly. After trying different extension cords, she ultimately told me that she did not have white polish available. At that point, I decided to leave because my pedicure had not been completed, my feet had not been properly polished, and my manicure had not even been started. Surprisingly, I was then told that I owed an additional $40. When I questioned the charge, I was handed only $20 as a refund. I was also told that next time I needed to specify the services I wanted, even though my booking clearly stated that I had scheduled a gel manicure and gel pedicure. While I was there, I also observed the technician begin a pedicure on another customer using the same tools, towels, and foot basin that had been used on me without any visible cleaning, disinfection, or sterilization between clients. I left the salon with sore toes and was limping due to the painful filing process. About 30 minutes later, Yvonne called and said she had located white polish and invited me to return for polishing. Given my experience, I declined. This was the worst salon experience I have ever had. Based on my visit, the salon did not appear properly equipped to provide manicure and pedicure services despite requiring nonrefundable deposits for those services. Customers should be informed in advance if the salon cannot adequately perform the services being offered.
