I saw Lauren Lavelle at Paragon hair salon in Greenvale. From start to finish Lauren was amazing! She took her time during the initial consultation and explained everything she wanted to do. The haircut was the best I have ever had. I will be returning! read more

The colorist is mediocre at best. You can tell it's just a job for him. Hair color products are the best . Nice place for a blowout. Nothing more read more

Used a single process root touch up groupon with Ken. He did a great job, even positioned some for low lights so that it would blend well and apparently gave me a complimentary blow out (I did think it was included) He ran a few minutes late, but got started right away once he got in. He spent time looking over my hair and making comments, he gave me some great advice and tips on my hair and generally was friendly and professional. The Salon staff were welcoming and professional. I wouldn't say overly friendly but just fine. I would return for color. Its a small modest salon in the corner of a Laffey on Northern Blvd. read more

Walking into the salon, I was greeted warmly by the staff. Julie was my hair dresser and she immediately had a vision for my hair and made me feel at ease that I was in good hands. I live in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania but I wait until I go to visit my parents on Long Island to get my hair done by Julie because the color is always absolutely perfect. I highly recommend Julie for your color and blow out she is truly amazing! 5/15/19 I have been having my hair done by Julie for over 10 years. No matter where I moved I always planned trips back to Long Island to get my hair colored by Julie. She takes time and makes a personal experience every time I'm there. My hair color always comes out perfect. I would highly recommend Julie not just for hair color, but for an amazing experience!! read more

I came here with a Groupon, and for under 75 dollars I got a fantastic haircut and a really perfect single process color. I really don't understand the negative reviews for this place, because my experience was nothing short of excellent I needed my roots covered, and the color was done perfectly. The people were very nice, facilities were clean and modern, and my haircut was absolutely fantastic. will definitely be returning again! read more

Good service but they do not honor the prices and discounts that they advertise. I left feeling a bit ripped off. I paid a lot of money for my single process and balayage but they refused to honor the discounts they advertised. I tipped on the full amount and abided by the rules of the Groupon. Never going back. read more

I've been going to Julie for over a year now and she never fails to disappoint. Her personality and skill makes me look forward to every appointment. Every time I walk out of the salon I feel like a new person. My hair has never looked better and I highly recommend her! read more

Lauren Lavelle - Hair Salons Near Me - Greenvale, New York

Went here for partial highlights and haircut with Groupon but the junior colorist convinced me a single process would be better. Now my hair is too dark and way shorter than I told her I wanted. I have never had my hair done anywhere that the stylist hardly spoke at all through the whole process and the receptionist was puffing on an e cigarette behind the desk. Will not be returning. Not sure why only the good reviews are shown read more

this is a cute place. came here with a living social deal to get my hair & makeup done for a wedding. on my way home my fiance's father died so we missed wedding and I never got to take any pictures of how it all came out. I remember it looking awesome though. read more

Haircut was decent. Hair coloring was bad, they had one person flip flop from 1-4 hair clients. I had my head scalp, nearly burnt off from being under that space pod for nearly 40 minutes in order to facilitate - faster processing. Had asked my colorist is this going to damage my hair, low and behold i am googling this she tells me no and i read it does!!! I asked the nice hairstylist to please rinse off using ice cold water since i felt a scalp trauma i mean i always give every salon a chance to impress me but to my dismay this hadn't. I think their motto of City like services is definitely not ringing through to me and i am surprised when i had called to make an appt. to correct it that they thought it can be pushed off till 2 weeks later. Meanwhile, i am looking like a clown with half red coloring per say and the other half at the ends all bleached out without my original color selected. I would've thought to correct the mistake they would book me earlier to receive a better review but i guess not. I guess trekking into the city for better experience is necessary, i love Cutler and or Aveda. At least they won't damage my scalp in the process of coloring! read more

The owner is a Long Island bitch and the hair stylist had no idea what she was doing. Spent 4 hours in a chair while she curled and brushed out the curl. I finally got up and left. 4 hours in a chair and my hair was burned, not even curled. Dirty place and dirty people. read more

Lauren Lavelle is the ONLY salon I go to on Long Island! Michelle's Cezanne service is unbeatable, as well as the team of colorists. Been going for over five years, and always impeccable service. read more

DO NOT BUY THE AMAZON/LIVING SOCIAL Coupon!!! No where on their "coupon" does it say you get a junior stylist.I had 5 " of my hair chopped off, after requesting a trim! I haven't had a more unprofessional cut since my brother cut my hair when we were kids! I was repeatedly referred to as the "living social person" treated as though I was a "welfare recipient" as though I was getting a free hand-out..disgraceful! The owner, was totally unconcerned, once she confirmed I had used a living social coupon (purchased through Amazon for $59.00). The ad claims the value to be $210.00 I wouldn't go back there for free !! I now have to go to a professional to correct the choppy cut. I have never been treated in such a condescending matter,by a very unprofessional & rude owner & stylist. read more

At 60+ years old, having lived in several cities (worldwide) I have experienced many hair salons! Not one compares to the Lauren Lavelle experience! Aside from having surrounded herself with talented and nice artists, her professionalism is great! She stands by her product, always willing to redo a less then perfect (as rare as that is!) outcome. Her warmth and humor, and the way she makes the client feel like family, is unparalleled. I recommend this salon, and all its services! read more

Great place.. Very talented staff and Julie Yamada is the best in the biz for hair color!!!

After trying a few different colorists in the area, I was recommended by a friend to go to Julie and she was everything I was looking for. I told her my concerns and without even flinching she knew exactly what I wanted. I also had a blowout by Michelle and my hair has lasted for several days which NEVER happens to me. I will keep going back! Thank you Lauren Lavelle for such a wonderful experience! read more

This is the second time I have been to Lauren Lavelle, and I will go back a third, fourth and so on. This was a Living Social deal. Katie did my highlights and Dana did my cut. I received tremendous compliments on my hair like never before. I think Kathie is so talented with color. Dana does a fabulous cut. I have watched her blow out other people's hair and she always does a wonderful job. The owner, Lauren, is so personable. read more

I have been to nearly every hair salon on the North Shore and not one of them comes close to Lauren Lavelle's service. I came to Lauren Lavelle about five years ago after nearly half of my hair burnt off from a stylist at another nearby salon. Bill knew exactly what to do to help repair my hair and I have been a loyal customer ever since. Bill does amazing work, and he knows how to place the highlights so that they still look good when they begin growing out. I went from highlighting my hair every month to highlighting it every six months because it still looks great as the highlights fade/grow out. read more

I've been coming here for years and i always get exceptional service! I trust Julie and Bill both with my color because they have the eye to bring out the best in my hair every time I'm in their chairs. Their attention to detail makes the experience special and when i leave i always feel like a million bucks ! Thankful I found the Lauren Lavelle Salon! read more

Great salon! Lauren cuts hair perfectly and my haircuts last a long time. Lauren and Michelle do excellent blowouts. They take their time to ensure my hair looks great and I never feel rushed. I have very curly hair and I am very particular about how it is cut, since I look like a poodle if it is not cut well. I used to drive 45 minutes to get my hair cut until I found Lauren. Now Lauren is the only person I will permit to cut my hair. She understands how to cut it and she always makes me look my best. I am very happy with her work, and I feel very fortunate to have found her. I also highly recommend Celeste for blow outs. She has done my hair twice recently and has done a beautiful job each time. She takes her time to make sure it looks perfect. I will, without a doubt, be back! read more

Julie is by far one be best colorist I have ever been too. She has all the training of upscale Nyc salons. She is wonderful and recommends the best look for your hair. Her technique is outta this world my hair looks the best it has in years! I am so happy I feel transformed. Thank you so much read more

I truly can't even put into words what Lauren, Julie and Tiffany did for my hair. I have extremely thick unruly hair. I had gone through hell trying to go blonde, not receiving what I wanted at all. Julie listened to what I wanted, she took so much time and paid such close attention to detail on my hair. Not only was she incredibly professional and patient, but she was genuinely fun to be around! When Lauren cut my hair, I have never had anyone work on me the way she did. She had me get up and she used an approach I have never seen. My hair is so thick and usually looks choppy after a cut. Lauren literally gave me the BEST haircut I have ever had. She knew how to cut thick hair! When it was time to blow me out and style my hair Tiffany took the time to teach me how to beach wave my thick hair so it doesn't look poofy. I highly recommend Lauren Lavelle Salon to anyone looking to get their hair done. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. read more

I transitioned from working in the city for over a decade to working in Nassau on LI. All of my beauty peeps were in the city and I was petrified to go to someone new after so many years on LI - where, let's keep it real - sometimes the talent is nowhere near the level of NYC talent. After bitching about my hair to my new coworker for at least 3 months, she finally just knocked some sense into me and recommended Lauren Lavalle. She recommended Julie Y, as she has known her personally most of her life and I took a chance and made a cut appointment with the owner Lauren as she was the one available at that time. I haven't had a proper haircut in a LONG time and my hair was very long and needed it. Lauren sat me down - I spent maybe a minute or two explaining what I wanted and how desperately I felt that I needed a pep in my step for my hair. She seemed very confident which at first had me worried and literally did her magic in maybe 10 minutes which was absolutely terrifying. She cut and did a lot and was moving very fast. But it ended up being the best THE BEST haircut of my entire life. She charges more than the other stylists but since this was an actual haircut and not a trim I felt it was worth it. It has been a month and people are still commenting at how great my layers look. So she is definitely worth the money in my opinion. As expected - Julie was everything my coworker said she would be and more. I did a partial Bayalage which I have never had - I've been a single process girl for a very long time. Julie was really receptive and very personable and understood that i didn't want anything too drastic but definitely a subtle change. I had brought a picture from her IG page that I used as a reference and she was very good at communicating how she would change it to fit my needs. She explained everything as we went and made me feel comfortable. The color came out incredible - normally I don't get a blow-out but I got one by Michelle and she did a great job. It was a nice treat to myself and one I haven't had in a long time that I did not regret. I have found my new hair salon and have already scheduled my next appointment with Julie Yamada. I don't need a trim for awhile but when I do I will go to Lauren again. The front staff was very friendly when I called and also in person. Don't hesitate and try out this salon! read more

Got a groupon deal for 69 for full head of highlights and blowout - Katie did my color and did a fantastic job!! It really looks great but natural at the same time .. Would definitely go back again and very satisfied .. read more

I went there with a living social voucher for partial highlights or single process color plus a haircut and style. I went to do my color and asked for single process. the colorist wouldn't do it and only did a gloss?? I asked multiple times for single process and she was insistent that I only needed gloss but it wasn't what I paid for. Gloss is less than half the cost of what my voucher was for. Then because they couldn't fit my haircut in, and I was coming back to do it, she said they wouldn't blow dry my hair so I had to do it myself. so I got jipped out of the color AND they wouldn't even dry it to compensate. read more

It's no wonder Lauren Lavelle operates out of a little hole in the wall. This business will never grow because of how they treat their clients. I've never received worse results or treatment anywhere. Julie did my color. She did the opposite of what I asked her to do. She told me she couldn't fix it that afternoon because she had plans. I didn't want to be a jerk because I knew her plans were with family. She convinced me to "live with it" for a few days. My friends told me I looked "beige". I had an event coming up a few days later and was scheduled to return to Lauren Lavelle anyway for an up-do. I rearranged my schedule to have Julie fix my color first. Before the appointment, I thought to myself, "what can I do to make sure it goes right this time? Maybe I need to communicate more clearly." I showed up with 4 Pinterest boards showing put the highlights here, not here. Make the color this tone, not that tone. Julie looked at it and arrogantly said, "I do this style all day long, I got it." Once she put the initial color on, she handed me over to the assistant and gave instructions based on how much time SHE had, not on how my hair was responding because she never checked it. The result was somewhat better but was still not close to what I had shown her. There was no time to fix it that day. Each visit I was tipping Julie and the assistant VERY generously because I'm always respectful that for stylists, time is money. I called the salon a couple of days later and said I wanted to come in again to have it finally fixed. The receptionist put me on hold, then said they wouldn't let me come back and that Lauren Lavelle said they would refund my money. I asked to speak with Lauren. She was obnoxious and made it clear she didn't want or need my business. She repeated they'd refund my money and I agreed under the circumstances they should, since they refused to make it right. They DID NOT REFUND my payment. So on top of being incompetent and rude, they're completely unethical. I had to spend hundreds more to have the color fixed at another salon. The happy ending is that I found Patty at HeadRush, who is fabulous, and finally gave me the color I wanted. If you need a correction, go see her. read more
