I welcomed Molly's Spa to the community. I was given a tour of a pretty place and told my friends about the new place. I made an appointment for a full body hot stone massage. I was very disappointed in the service I received from a kind person whom didn't know anything about a full body massage and spa etiquette. The massage experience was of poor quality and OVERPRICED! I visited the Spa once again to speak with the owner, who claimed to have a person in charge of This establishment using her name. Milly took my name and number and said I would be contacted. DON'T LET IRIS TOUCH YOUR HAIR! DON'T LET IRIS TOUCH YOUR HAIR! She put chemicals on my transitioned natural hair and now it is straight. I went for a color rinse and I didn't know that permanent color is brushed on and rinse is put directly from the bottle. Right before she put on the color she asked me why did not I relax my hair. Within two weeks my hair started coming out during washing and on my comb. I only go to that one salon. I don't wash at home. It was Iris. Before her I had transitioned to natural hair for two years. Everyone talked about how beautiful my hair was. After letting Iris touch my hair, it started to fall out. Yesterday I was told by another salon that chemicals were put in my hair. IT WAS IRIS!!!! I am angry with Iris and the salon because I heard the different stylists talking in Spanish that my hair was dead, limp and falling out. No one said anything to help me. I have been going there for years. My friend recommended this place. She stopped going last year when her hair started falling out also. Poor customer service. I go to a salon to get professional care and advice not to be talked about in Spanish. Had these women told me before I would have been able to save my hair. I have never seen Milly at this location. Perhaps she needs to spend more time there. Finally, yesterday I went to a different salon with a stylist who confirmed that chemicals were put in my hair to straighten it along with permanent color. So my hair lady is no longer there i was apprehensive about coming since it has been years since ive been there. Long story short... im a natural... i came out with silky straight hair that smelled like burnt doodoo. I Washed my hair a month later (seriously my 4c hair stayed Straight for 1 full month) and it did not revert. My hair is severely damaged with heat. Many stringy pieces of hair shedding. BEST DOMINICAN SALON ON THE PLANET! I now live in Miami and I dreaaaaam about this salon at night. Everytime I have to get my hair done down here I weeeeep for Millys! Typically NY-style dominican salon, crowded, loud spanish music, man selling knockoff handbags and asian selling bootleg DVDs, but whatever! Gotta love NYC! Glenys does my hair like a dreaaaaaaaaaaammmmm, my hair grew and grew and grew and looked PERFECT with her. Ask her to finger coil your hair and you'll faint in the mirror with happiness. While the owner was nice that is all I probably liked about it. The rest of the staff were not helpful and didn't even seem to care if a customer had a question or inquiry. I'm use to only Dominican hair salons and this definitely was not up to par with any other. If an emergency arose and this was the last resort maybe I'll give it a second shot till then I'll keep looking for salons in the area. read more

This salon is my go to. I come in and never have to wait more Han 5 minutes to get my hair washed. I usually get my hair washed, put in rolls, and then styled but I'm usually in and out within and hour and half (which is good since this place is always packed). My go to stylist is Ana, she is patient and gets my hair done perfectly in a timely manner. She is my favorite by far. I give this salon 5 stars because that's exactly what it deserves. I moved to West Hempstead from Suffolk County about three months ago and since then, I have been through a handful of salons in the Hempstead area and not one of them satisfied me. I was about to give up on my search and travel every week to Central Islip (45 minutes from where I live) to do my hair. Out of desperation, I went to One Stop beauty supply located on Main Street in Hempstead, just a few blocks away from the salon and spoke to one of their employees about my frustration. She advise that I should give Milly's a shot. She told me I wouldn't regret it, and till this day, I haven't. From day one, I have been treated like a queen at this hair salon. Milly does my hair and she makes me look like I just got out of a photo shoot every time I leave her salon. Trust me, GO HERE! Five stars for result, hair was perfect post-set. However, it was really crowded for a weekday afternoon, the CC processing was down, I had to wait 30 minutes after the dryer was done to be "finished," and it was a big noisy shuffle. The girl who finished my hair was great and it came out amazing, but also the first girl tore one of my tracks so that kind of sucked. Still, the result was really good. I will probably stick to Amada in the future but if I'm in Brentwood this place does good if unpredictably timed hair. read more

Tip for the stylists: If you're going to talk about your client in Spanish while she's in the chair, make sure your client doesn't understand and speak Spanish themselves..... OR how about just be a decent person and not gossip about people period? Sounds like a great idea to me. Absolutely unprofessional and low class. This salon is OK. They washed , roller set and blowed my hair out nicely. However, they were very very slow.... I went in at 2pm on a Wednesday and did not leave until 4:45pm. They are not very sanitary either. The comb the stylist was using to roller set my hair fell on the floor and she attempted to put it back in my hair several times. It wasn't until I was adamant that she cleaned it that she sprayed some water on it and wiped it off. I looked around the salon and did not see one jar of barbicide. I wish there was a way to give half stars. Meh. I came here upon recommendation from my best friend. I walked in and was seen almost immediately. Of course, as a black woman with long, natural hair, I am wary of salons in general. As soon as I walked in, it was like these people had seen a ghost. Don't they know that they are in a predominately black area and that we use the services too? Anyway, after that initial impression, I was walked to the shampooing bowl and had my hair washed thoroughly. The shampoo lady then rolled my hair and sat me under the dryer. Now, I have had my hair dried under the dryer before, but my hair always dries in less than 45 minutes. For some reason, I was sat under the SUPER hot dryer for and hour and a half.. Apparently, I had to wait to be blown out by another stylist, who, while I was 90% dry, took on a client with long, wet hair. So that extra 45 minutes could have been avoided. It was finally my time to have my hair blown out! The stylist scared me a bit because she used a fine tooth comb on my kitchen...and that's a no no. Once she used a roller brush and a wider tooth comb, I became more comfortable. The stylist then wrapped my hair and I went on my merry way. Literally, I have been in and out of salons much faster. The only saving grace is that the shampoo lady did a great job with washing and conditioning my hair, and that I was taken to be washed immediately. read more

I live in Hempstead and have seen this place everyone I pass main st. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed when I went in. I'm glad I was able to be attended quickly because I was there at 8:30AM. The person who saw me was not warm or welcoming. She used a curling iron but I told her I just wanted my blow out with a flip . I've never been so where that used the curling iron to do that, needless to say she didn't even give me a flip. Anyways , she burned my scalp when using the blow dry . My hair is nice but I mean 40 bucks for a wash and blow out ??? Never in my life have I ever paid for that. Even at "fancy salons ". I tipped her out of courtesy but I was very sad. read more

If I could give this a minus star I would. So I go in, I see Milly sitting there in a roller set playing on her phone. I ask for Paula apparently she hasn't worked there for a long time. I haven't been there in a long time either due to me going natural. I tell her immediately my hair is natural, I want a trim and a wash and set. She gives me a lady named Maria, I then tell her 2/3 times I'm NATURAL. She washes it for a good 10 minutes; gives me some Bantu knots, puts me under the dryer for 10 mins then proceeds to straighten my hair. EVERYTHING WAS COOL; the end results was my hair looked permed and healthy. I was ok with it, not a problem. Now this happened this past Friday 8/24/18. I wake up this morning completely over my hair being straight. My main purpose was a trim anyway so I'm thinking let me wash my hair and do a wash and go as I normally have been doing. So this morning 8/27 I'm washing my hair and I start to smell this foul smell. Like a f***ing perm!!!!! Or even blow dryer! I don't know what this smell is, I have 2 floors in my house. The entire 2nd floor smelled like my hair. I cowashed it, shampooed it, conditioned it, EVERYTHING!! My hair still smelled f***ed up! So I'm like let me throw some moisturizer in it, nothing, I repeat nothing is curling my hair, it looked like it might but it's not the same!!!! I'm sitting at work now like let me call! I call and a man answers, I'm telling him the story, I went there Friday, got a trim and a wash and set, and my hair will not curling back. He tells me they close at 6, I said ok and you said that to say what?! I'm like I have natural hair and it will not curl back!!!!! He says it's Monday, why didn't you come Saturday. I'm like why would i wet my hair Saturday!!!!!!! When I just got it straightened Friday !!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhh! He goes you have to come in so we can see it. Now I'm a patient person and it takes a lot to piss me off. I've read a review here and I saw that they might've put perm in the deep condition. I made sure I stayed away from that! I can't even focus today and I don't want to go back there in this mind state because I'm going to go OFF!!! Ooo and my hair will not stop shedding!!!! They do a great job on your hair buy if you have naturally course hair they will ask recommend a $10 deep conditioner. DON'T DO IT!!! It has some type of relaxer in it which is why their blowout results come out so good. Your curl pattern will not be the same and you will think it's bc of the heat but it isn't. In a few weeks your hair will look like it needs a touch up as if you put relaxer in your hair. If you are natural this is NOT the place for you. If you are not narural then this is the place for you. I confirmed that they put something in the deep conditioner by bringing my niece with me to get what I get. The hairstylists looked at each other scared, as if they had been busted! The salon owner claimed that they couldn't put the deep conditioner in her hair bc it would mess up her curl pattern........now I've never heard of deep conditioner messing up anyone's curl pattern. The only treatment that would mess up your curl pattern would be.....oh that's right! A mf relaxer!!! Smh. Again if you have relaxed hair they will slay you to the gawd's but if you're natural STAY AWAY. read more
