Oddly I visit this mall for the Xian noodle restaurant. However, during my last visit I decided to shop around. This mall did not have stores I recognize. Stores appear to target middle income clientele. Von Maur, my first, seems to attract an older crowd. The Northern entrance is closed. The food court looked empty. I had to walk, what felt like from one end to the other for a restroom. Only to find it was closed for repairs.

4-stars seems odd, I just don't want to give it a lower rating. It is sad that this mall seems like it is either in "transition," or it is on a sad path to oblivion. I remember when the vacant land once stated, "Coming soon: Jacobson's and a mall to be built." It was very exciting and this mall once did house Jacobson's, Carson's, the Gap, Ann Taylor, teavana and many more. It still has Olga's, California pizza kitchen, Victoria's secret and bath and body works and Sanders. A lot of little, privately owned shops are popping up. That's ok, but it seems they are here one day and gone the next. And, what will become of the large empty space that housed Carson's? Will it ever breath new life? The saddest area is the totally empty food court. Such a pleasant space that offers no food options. There is a lovely, lonely tea place trying to stay in business, but, sadly doubtful with little to no foot traffic. I do hope that the fact there are hotels in the area, one that was recently built, and a new Panera on the grounds of Laurel Park, that the mall still has life left in it. It is a nice place to walk and shop without the hassle of a huge mall. I would hate to see another mall, in Livonia, disappear.

It's an decent mall. Small and very few shops, close no food court except couple of options. The children play area is small too. This is kind of adjacent to the Marriott. The mall facility and restrooms are clean.

Laurel Park has improved over the years, I frequent this place for quick shopping. If your in the mood for easy retail therapy, this is the place. It's clean and has a decent variety of shops. For solo shopping, or just to run in for a item or two... It's a nice experience. I like how all parking is pretty close to the entrances, and most of the stores have online coupons to use. Victoria Secret, Express & Wu Xing Massage (which is next to the movie theater) are my personal favorites. They have a few salons, food options & clothing stores. A little bit of everything. The cleaning staff are always on top of things, and I've always been treated with respect and a smile from every mall employee. For whichever reason, cell service inside the building is almost non-existent... So make sure you do texts/calls before entering & have any web coupons or browsing photos in your phones album stored already. Also... The movie theater here... MOST COMFIEST chairs ever, you can stretch your legs out and cuddle up with ease. Livonia is pretty boring, so I'd say that this place is the highlight of the city. Right off the freeway for easy access and close to hotels for out-of-town guests.

Decently kept up, would love to see them get some new, popular stores. New business is good business!

I enjoyed walking through this mall. I was able to identify several gifts immediately, ranging…read morefrom beautifully crafted jewellry to fine coats and jackets. The staff here is very knowledgeable and helpful. Beautiful store. Something to see! My favorite store of all is Native Kichwa Arts! Super selection. Trendy and traditional. Trenditional! The manager here was informative and kind. Authentic materials rooted in our wonderful past and brought to us living and filled with joy. I enjoy the colors of many of the objects but, beyond that, I really like the designs within the fabrics. The yarns and threading material used in most of the textiles is natural and durable. A testament to artistry and craft. Service here is also exceptional. Management and staff are knowledgeable abut their clothing and wares. Last but not least there are objets d'art of unqusetiinable beauty. Prices are reasonable.

This mall is laid out in a very different manner relative to other more conventional malls. It…read morelooks linear with side halls from the schematic...but it doesn't feel like it. It does not have the grand, high-ceiling, well-lit atrium most large malls would have. It's a little dim inside and feels a little dead since an alarming number of its storefronts are empty. There's also very few food options giving people less reason to spend time there. The anchors are reduced to Kohls and Penneys, and I fear for the longevity of the latter. There were very few people in the mall when I was there save a few mall walkers and a couple of people pacing on their phones. On the plus side, there is a nice children's play area outside Penneys and the large atrium at the end of the mall is a nice space, even though dark. The Easter Bunny was there and set up for kids' pictures, so there was still some evidence of at least minimal vitality. And some of the shops still open were favorites such as Penney's, Kohl's, Spencer's, Lids and Victoria's Secret. It is my theory that about 20 - 25% or so of the existing large 60s-70s-80s era malls will survive over the next few years because that wil be all that the market will support. That trend, of course, is already well underway. Those that survive will need to remake their malls into destination experiences in some way. Malls used to be entertainment hubs in themselves just because of the fact that they provided shopping and dining experiences and a place to hang out (younger crowd) or a place to escape (Mom's day out). But reduced foot traffic in malls and higher operating costs have exposed too-thin margins that are killing mall retail populations rapidly. And people shifting their tastes to experiences rather than material goods is causing consternation among retailers as well. Add to that the fact that malls aren't that attractive as hangout places anymore, which is not unrelated to the retail demise. As most malls continue to disappear or morph into something else through deliberate re-purposing (eg., residences), this one does not seem like it has the right ingredients to be a mall survivor. It just feels like a dead experience when you're there. 6 PM on a weeknight might not be at the top of primetime, but evidence of life should have been better than what I saw. This mall seems like a place where you go to pick up something at a particular store and you leave. There's little temptation to stick around once you've accomplished your purpose because there's no reason to do so. That's not sustainable for the retailers. The business model of malls dictates the opposite if it's going to work. The tenants are supposed to synergistically support each other in attracting patrons who come to browse multiple shops. It seems like this is going the way of the transition in retail that is embodying the end of an era. Change is happening rapidly in America's commercial culture. But that's life. Who knows? Maybe someone with some vision and creativity will figure out a survive-to-thrive plan for this establishment. But realistically I don't think this place will still exist in ten years, at least not as a conventional mall.

The cashier was on the phone so we didn't even bother her. We went here to look at the bathroom vanities. Pay close attention, because it may be boxed or shrink-wrapped looking like its in great shape, but its often not. On top of the new-ish or not so new-ish condition of the merchandise, the prices are close to retail. A counter top ice maker was $129 which is the same price as Amazon, the same went for other items I checked on. In at least one situation, there was a product that had a $3 sticker on it, but had what looked like to me as a K-Mart clearance sticker for $1.99...are you kidding me!! Walking around the store looking at the shelves in a bit of disarray drove me crazy, I was like you have this huge store with all this merchandise, and you treat it like a sloppy over priced garage sale...ugh! My prediction is that in its current state, OO may not be favorable with the people who are used to Big Lots being here. I wish them well, but in order to attract and retain customers, they need to lower their prices by about 20%, organize the shelves like a professional business, seal all open boxes, and instill trust in the consumer that they can easily return any defective merchandise.
