My experience with Dr. Gramse was probably the worst encounter with a healthcare provider I have ever had. I called her office because my husband was experiencing severe tooth pain and they advertised as having emergency service, but when I called, they told me they were closing at five, so they gave me the next appointment which was not until the following morning. The minute she walked into the room, without even greeting us, she looked into his mouth for about five seconds and said she couldn't do anything because he needed oral surgery. I replied that we couldn't afford it, and she answered "You'll have to." Then, without any suggestions or advice, even so much as prescribing a painkiller, she gave us a referral to an oral surgeon and walked out without even saying goodbye.
The next day we went to the dental clinic at U.Conn, where a dentist diagnosed him with an infected tooth, prescribed an antibiotic, and we were told to come back in a few days for an extraction.
Dr. Gramse is one of the coldest fish I have ever met. She is apathetic, discourteous, unprofessional, and, worst of all, downright negligent - as evidenced by her refusal to diagnose an obvious and treatable condition. I would not recommend her under any circumstance. You'd be better off tying your tooth to a doorknob and slamming the door.
I would give her negative stars if it were possible. read more
