I'm so happy I know where to go for good seafood boil in Lincoln! I believe they have a special everyday. My family of 10 came on a Monday. We were seated right away. Most of us ordered the special which included a pound of crab, shrimp, corn, potatoe and an egg. You can pick your sauce and spicy level. There's also no spice for my peeps who can't handle the heat. The seafood was cooked perfectly and the sauce is tasty. I ordered the house special which is a combination of all of their sauces. The Asian in me has to order rice with this everytime lol. My toddler enjoyed the chicken nuggets, but there were also fish sticks and chicken tenders on the kids menu. Ambiance is casual, there's a good amount of seating. The Laughing Crab is so unique. The menu is extremely versatile and truly has something for everyone. The staff is friendly. I thought most of the food was wonderful, especially the crab legs and shrimp. However, I would pass on the oysters and crawfish in the future. I found them a little underwhelming. If you're getting a sauce, just beware that it's a lot of sauce. I'd definitely like to go back and try something new! read more

Got crab and shrimp to go, Shrimp said "heads off" great! But what about the rest of the shrimp? The entire shell was left on. And how am I supposed to crack the crab open? We asked for our food to be returned to the kitchen because they forgot to put the sausage on the side due to an allergy, they gave us attitude and tried to tell us there was nothing we could do. Also tried to order a kids meal for my older child and they refused it since he was over 10 even though we wanted a smaller portion for dietary reasons. First of all, an absolutely awesome concept for a restaurant! Second, amazing service from the staff. Third, the food! OMG!! I lived in New Orleans for two years, so I'm well acquainted with Cajun-style seafood. I had the Wednesday Special. One half pound of shrimp, sausage, and scallops with a half ear of corn, a potato, and an egg! All of it in a medium Cajun spice. Let me tell you, it was true deliciousness on a plate. I most certainly will be returning with friends whom I want to expose to some of the best seafood available. Wow, this is an excellent addition to the restaurant selections available in Lincoln. I've been to Laughing Crab twice and really liked the food. I always get the spicy Cajun sauce. The first time it was perfect, second time it was really spicy. Not a big deal, but no one checked on us for water refills, which would've been nice. It's always pretty busy, and sometimes the staff seems a little overwhelmed. They do have a good beer deal, some days it's buy one, get one for $1 on canned beers. I wouldn't recommend the crawfish; both times they were kind of bland, like they weren't boiled in the seasoning. But the crab is great, and I'd definitely go back for that. read more

I like the ability to choose my own heat, and it was medium, as requested. The restaurant is small, so expect a wait on weekend evenings. The Laughing Crab has a fun and playful "Under the Sea" vibe, definitely cute and worth checking out if you like themed spots. The decorations were creative and gave the place a cool, oceanic atmosphere. The food overall was tasty, but I was really disappointed to find that the shrimp weren't deveined at all. That's not only unappetizing, it's honestly kind of gross and took away from the whole meal. The restaurant was also on the noisy side, which made it hard to relax and enjoy conversation. My husband and I were there yesterday for lunch. We both got the basket combos. His was shrimp and mine was oysters. They were fried and French fries, Cole slaw and hush puppies were side dishes. Very generous portions of oysters and shrimp plus the fries were abundant as well. All items were delicious! The price for these meals extremely reasonable! Service was great and very courteous . The atmosphere was appropriate for the location and the decor. If you don't like having people watch you eat there are tables located around the corner. Still full windows but facing the parking lot. We have eaten at crab boils clear around the country and the food was good but I do not feel like we got $100 worth of crab. In fact, I'm still hungry. We asked how big the snow crab was and the waiter assured us the snow crab was never small. Well, these were the smallest snow crab I ever ate and the most work. In fact I stabbed myself trying to get the meat out of the shell. No bibs, no scissors and the wet wipes didn't come til we paid our bill. Be prepared to ask for soda refills. I love seafood boils and I was so excited to see that there was a place in Lincoln. My son and I decided to try a snow crab, head on shrimp boil. I will first start with the positives; the crab was well cooked and also very flavorful! It seemed as though they may have boiled it in something smokey almost. Very unique and yummy. The shrimp and corn on the other hand.... very poorly cooked. The shrimp had a texture that I had never seen before. It was nearly falling apart as I was taking the shell off. The corn had that wilted texture to it like it maybe had been sat out and reheated? The booked eggs and potatoes were good. I think I would give this place another chance in hopes that it was just an off night and/or the fact that I ordered it as pickup. read more

If you want to enjoy a good Cajun seafood in the Midwest, this place will provide!!! Your seafood boil is very customizable with what you put in it, the season, and the spice level.
