Planning on dinning out in P A and cking restaurants ? We'll Latitude 20 isn't one of them. Its operating in unsanitary conditions.. water has been turned off and replaced with bottled water for cooking and cleaning, etc. Unsanitary bathroom conditions . A pail of water with a ladle to be used to flush toilet.. Electricity has been turned off bf CFE replaced by a generator for lighting and refrigeration. Etc. Generator is turned off at closing and on at opening, which means no electricity for refrigerators 9-10 hrs. Food spoils after 4hrs without refrigeration.. This doesn't seem to appetizing. But you be the judge.. read more

Great local spot on the waterfront. First, they take credit cards, so use it to pay if you come here. You get a better exchange rate on the prices. The menu is pretty straight forward and is on a sign....One side is for entrees, the other side is for desserts. The menu consists of a little of Mexican, seafood and sandwiches. The grill is in the restaurant. If you are not a lover of being close to food while on the grill, I would strongly recommend getting a table near the walkway. If you are there at night, you may be treated to a free show from the resort across the water. Last night we heard a Beatles cover band and it was pretty good. Food is pretty good. I got the Surf and Turf, The Queen got the grilled lobster and The Doctor got the tacos. The lobster is based on size when you order (in grams as this is a metrics country). The price is based on the size. The waiter had a complete list of the different weights and the prices. The Surf and Turf came with a lovely piece of filet mignon, cooked to perfection. It was very juicy and tender, covered in a lovely sauce. Not sure what it was, perhaps balsamic but it was a little sweeter that usual, if so. The meal came with rice, grilled veggies and pineapple, and plantains I am personally not a fan of grilled pineapple or plantains, so I gave them to my friend. Total cost for my meal was about $30....for steak and lobster. This is considered expensive in Puerto Aventuras, but man I can totally deal with this. My friend got the BBQ ribs. I am guessing they were good because his plate was cleaned. That came with veggies and a baked potato. We didn't do dessert because we were stuffed, but I did see a coconut chocolate brownie. Just as a FYI, if you are allergic to cats, I would take something first before coming here. There are cats that roam around and are quite at home. We did not have a good experience at this restaurant. The fish tacos were tasteless, the pineapple was a hard strip not the fleshy fruit. My husband's margarita was undrinkable - really poor quality bitter tequila. Service wasn't that great, barely checked on us. Then when we went to pay they are clearly taking advantage of Americans. If you pay with a credit card they charge 5% extra but if you pay cash the conversion rate for dollars was completely wrong; what should have been $78 was converted as $90. Excellent food, extensive menu. Mostly cooked over carbon, including the baked potatoes and vegetables. Service is a bit slow as they are SO busy but who cares as most are on vacation, right? It's so popular that you are advised to make reservations to dine here. Staff are excellent especially Claudia. Entertainment is excellent as well and everyone gets up to dance. You can eat in the main part of the restaurant under the palapa or on the terrace beside the marina. When the moon is out, the reflection in the water is Gorgeous. read more

Hubby and I found ourselves with some time to kill in Puerto Adventuras before a sunset sail, and stopped in Latitude 20 for a couple drinks. We were seated facing the dolphin lagoon. We each ordered a margarita-Happy Hour was buy one get one-Score! The margaritas came quickly and were strong...very strong. The service was good, we chatted with a nice Canadian couple in the next table, and ended up each having two....whew...Anyway, it was a great time, the free wifi worked well, and we paid with cash so avoided the charge for credit cards. Latitudes has good entertainment on Friday, Saturday nights and sometimes during the week. Their chicken or shrimp quesadillas are very good and they have a special sweet barbecue sauce that you would love. You can buy a bottle. It's a fun place to go and happy hour from 3 to 6. read more

A quiet bar/restaurant in Puerto Adventurous. It's in the residential section, so a lot of the locals come here. It actually has good restaurant type fair. Such as hamburgers chicken, tacos, you name it and they have it. Nothing fancy it's just barfood in the simple restaurant. You can watch the dolphins play, and you can watch the Miami dolphins play football in there numerous TVs that they have. The staff is very kind and accommodating and they'll make whatever you want or if you bring in fish kill fried up. read more

This place is filthy. First of all, the table and chairs are cheap plastic and very uncomfortable. I found the owner to be extremely rude. He appeared to be intoxicated. There are many great restaurants in Puerto Aventuras but this is not one of them. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. The food is cooked on an open grill which located the the front which is coated with a cloud of dust every time a car goes buy. If you are looking for a dive bar, this may be your place. read more

I had a caprese salad with shrimp and it was fantastic! A huge salad and jumbo prawns grilled perfectly! Fresh guacamole is fabulous. My mango mojito was not good, but they added more rum and clearly I should have ordered something they normally make, so that was my bad. I am staying in a condo nearby and this was the closest restaurant, I was very hungry after a day of flying. We saw that this place was highly reviewed, and the condo owner recommended it so we stopped.. It looked very quiet, not too full. A very friendly guy, Jacob, helped us. The food was amazing the service was excellent. Now we've gone back with the full wedding party, and Jim helped us. He went above and beyond to make sure we were all comfortable. He even called a friend to check on the golf rates for us. We will be back for sure. read more

Last night was one of the worst dinners my family has ever had. We saw the good Yelp reviews and did not go to another of the many seemingly nice restaurants by the marina. To start off we ordered chips, salsa, and guacamole. We didn't get any of that until 30-40 minutes later when we asked the waiter several times where they were. We watched them open a bag of chips, pour them into a bowl, and bring it over. This was brought over without salsa or guacamole for about 15 minutes. It was okay. Nothing special. The majority of my family ordered the surf and turf with jumbo shrimp instead of lobster because they were out. My brother had to send it back twice because he ordered it medium and it was bloody. My mother choked on her piece and proceeded to vomit in the nearby bush because her piece of filet was so tough and she was unable to chew it. My sister said the shrimp were so salty she only ate one of them. I ordered a small latitude 20 salad because I thought the combination looked interesting with grilled pineapple, goat cheese, sliced almonds, etc. I ordered it with a strawberry vinaigrette at the recommendation of my waiter. The salad was incredibly sweet and I could only eat a few bites of it without getting sick. I ordered veggie tacos which had a huge slice of pineapple on top. I was able to eat one of them but they were not appetizing. The majority of the food on our table was left uneaten. A lot more went wrong but overall this was an awful experience and my family and I still ended up paying about $200 after two surf and turfs were taken off by the manager and we were given a discount. I am disappointed this ruined our New Year's Eve dinner and that we were not able to try another local restaurant in the area instead. read more

Nice little spot. Their food is great, by that I mean the ceviche and salads. They have excellent hot sauce. The staff is nice, just a little slow like you find at pretty much all Mexican restaurants. The drinks, way over priced, even at happy hour. Food was pretty good. However, the exchange rate charged by owner was the worst we had in 10 days down here, and they don't accept credit cards. Exchange rate right now is 16.7 USD:1 Peso, Owner charged 13:1. Most restaurants were exchanging at 15:1 and accepted credit cards. We were on our last night, had to run back to our room for cash, and were out of pesos. Owner must be a real piece of work. If you don't have pesos in hand, don't bother. read more

Atmosphere is outside under a roof on the marina canal but with simple plastic furniture. The first couple of times we came here we really liked it. The last two times my fish was so tough and chewy I couldn't eat it. I fed most of it to a cute stray cat hanging around. No fryer so if you want French fries you are out of luck. We were really excited to try latitude 20 agree we had several people recommend it to us. We were a group of 2 families with kids and all of us really love Mexican food.. We ordered fish tacos which were average at best, steak tacos (good), casidillas, grilled fish, and cocktails. The cocktails like the rest of the meals were only average if not a bit below.. We were looking forward to coming to this restaurant the most when we arrived at Puerto Aventuras (to stay next door at Dreams) but we decided not to come back a second time. It's not at ALL that we were upset or had any MAJOR issues but I guess expectations were just let down. (I much preferred Cafe Ole and Nauti Burro). I've likely had close to every drink under the sun in my lifetime and I prefer when I travel for restaurants to have a drink menu with their own local or preferred mixed drinks but this place does not have one. I can make myself basic drinks (e.g., margaritas, sex on the beach, rum and Coke) back in the resort suite or get them for free at the resort so I was looking for actual drink suggestions. The food selection is very brief/simple and similar to any taqueria or tex-mex establishment so we decided not to order any food beyond guacamole and chips and salsa (which were good!). Staff were friendly and thankfully my significant other speaks Spanish so there was only a slight translation issue (which is never something I'd have issue with when I'm in someone else's country, of course). :) Sitting overlooking the dolphin lagoon was a definite plus! Some Caucasian middle aged woman (I'm a white woman in my thirties so no disrespect in that regard) was at the bar with her dogs complaining loudly (for a longggg time) about how she should not be expected to tip because she wasn't ordering anything. Not sure if she was talking about Latitude 20 or about another establishment but I guess everyone's glares didn't scream "stop sounding so entitled and rude" strong enough to get her to stop. Took away a lot from our experience. And for those complaining, you should have Mexican pesos when you go to Mexico anyway so plan ahead! Puerto Aventuras is the best area! read more

One of my favorite local places! Caribbean Tropical Vibe, fresh fish, and a two for one happy hour. Couldn't be better. The view is also pretty good as well, marina front with dolphins jumping. Latitude 20 has been under new management for about 8 months now, come on in and meet the new owner Jim! We were sad to see Peter and Danny go but they have left the restaurant in the best hands ever. I did dine last night with 2 youngsters and I noted the addition of crayons and Latitude 20 place-mats for them to color-what a great idea! So far the menu remains the same...and still just as tasty. My top favorites are the Jamaican Jerk Chicken (comes with a baked potato and grilled vegies)(you can buy a whole or a half by the way...I get a whole so my husband and I can eat the leftovers for lunch the next day), ribs (also comes with the potato and vegies), or one of the salad selection. Most of my girlfriends would say their favorite is the hamburger and my husband would go for the margarita pizza or a wrap. As you can tell, you have lots of options! If you are a fisherman, you can bring in your "catch of the day" and the cooks with grill it up and serve it to you with rice and grilled vegies for a modest fee. I was fortunate to attend last night with a friend who had a BIG hogfish and it was yummy!! You are able to sit on the marina and catch a nice breeze and view while you eat under the open air palapa. read more
