There are not enough good things in the world to say about this place. The man that served us and welcomed us in was SO nice and helpful. He saw us itching and even brought us bug spray! The location is great centered right around the dolphinarium. The soupa de lima (lime soup) was delicious! Maybe like 3.5 stars. It's part of a bunch of restaurants all crowded together outside of the canal where you can watch the dolphins. It's small and the food was decent, and it cost about 15 USD. The waiter was friendly, the other two not so much. I had fajitas. The chicken and veggies had a nice flavor. The style here is more simple than what you get at American places, where they usually give you a big bowl of chips and some salsa, then a side of beans and rice, and then a huge sizzling platter with three or four tortillas that you have to overstuff. This is more like a reasonable, quiet lunch for one person... a little bit of refried beans and guacamole, just two decorative tortilla chips, but six to eight tortillas, which means you can have lots of small rolls and feel full. I didn't like having to hear the neighboring restaurant's loud music, which is all 10 year old American pop hits, or the whole touristy atmosphere, but that isn't really the restaurant's fault. It's good food served quick at a reasonable price. read more

Visited from a short ways of our Mayan riviera resort. After walking around the whole port area before hitting the beach most of the surrounding spots seem Americanized so we were looking for a spot that was Authentic & this was the spot. Our server gave excellent service, I was looking for something off the menu & it was exactly that he delivered: the mouthwatering shrimp aguachiles ($220 MX) very delicious especially after adding their habanero salsa, one let down that I didn't mention was that it didn't come with avocado and when I asked about it he did mention it. I still enjoyed my meal but it was missing avocado. The guacamole is delicious. The habanero salsa has a fiery kick but a must try w/ their house made totopos. Must have margaritas that are v potent. You'll be feeling it 1/2 way down if not sooner! There's a restroom available inside we chose to sit outside, in the shaded area and got a look at the dolphins. Definitely satisfied our authentic cuisine cravings. My friends really enjoyed their ceviche & shrimp cocktail. No complaints. read more

We loved Dos Chiles. Prices were moderate compared to some of the other restaurants bordering the promenade around the dolphin pools, it was colorful, service was not rushed, our dish of Pancho VIlla combo plate had crunchy chips, fresh pico de gallo, great tasting cheese, a generous amount of chicken, and the hot sauces were terrific (it all put American style Mexican food preparation to shame), and, although we felt that the owner was trying to put one over us with our bill, he did rectify the issue in the end. We will come back if we are in the area again. read more

Meh. Still about the same...salsa is extra and basically a pile of onions and a few tomatoes. My salsa is more memorable. No kids menu items come with a drink. What? I know Covid has been rough but you have to win customers back! Also, veggie fajitas are where you sub a lot of extra veggies for meat or something exciting, not just onions and peppers on a platter. This was the first spot we visited during our trip to Puerto Aventuras. It's a lovely outdoor restaurant right near the dolphin discovery area. So you can watch the dolphins as you enjoy your meal! Our server Guillermo was incredible! He spoke mostly Spanish with a dash of English sprinkled in here and there, and we met him half way speaking mostly English with a dash of Spanish here and there. He was so attentive and wanted to be sure we had everything we needed to have a 5-star experience at his restaurante. We devoured a couple of baskets of chips and salsa before our meals arrived, since we were up early to fly down there and had only eaten a bit of airport food along the way. He brought out two salsas, one medium and one hot. Both were so good. I can speak only for the shrimp tacos I ordered. They were delicious! Everyone in my family ate whatever they ordered and barely said a word, which is always a good sign of a good meal. The restaurant is located in the Riviera Maya area of the resort. It's a beautiful alcove lined with restaurants, bars, and shops. Go there, enjoy a meal, and let Guillermo take care of you. Also, bring cash. They do NOT accept credit cards. read more

Visited Puerto Adventuras this past week and had a blast. The first night we decided to try out Dos Chiles and it was amazing. The tables alone are filled with colors and the seats right by the dolphin pool make it even more amazing. If you do not read to the end know that this has amazing beers, amazing Mexican food and amazing service for a very cheap price. We sat down and the waiter came over and we ordered two Modelo's Especials and they were freezing cold which made them taste event better. This was our first night in Puerto so we wanted great beer and great food and we found it. We got the Mexican Combo and it was a lot of food. It came with a mini quesadilla, tacos, fajitas, guac, beans and a few other things and it did not disappoint. When it was time to pay the total price was around $12 USD which was amazing. All this food and beer for so cheap...What? But the best part was the waiters took such good care of us and made sure we had everything that we needed. When you are here you pretty much rent the table and the waiters do not pressure you to eat fast or leave the bill down early. I found this place to be an amazing first night and the food was delicious. I highly recommend! read more

We ate supper here on the next to last night of our visit and wish we had found it sooner. I started with the lime soup and it was fantastic. Both my husband & I had shrimp for our main course and it was very good. We finished up supper with caramel flan that was very tasty & very heavy - thank goodness we got one to split! We have been wintering in PA for many years. We have never had a restaurant experience as bad as this. Having reviewed the menu out front we sat down and ordered drinks. When we began ordering food we were informed that they no longer served file mignon. Well ok so my wife decided to have the rib eye steak which was supposed to come with baked potatoes and vegetables. She was informed they now came with only fries. Not what she wanted but since we had already ordered drinks we decided to stay. I ordered the fish of the day that was supposed to come with vegetables and rice, which I planned on sharing with my wife. I asked for them to put some diablo sauce on the fish. We my plate came it only had fish and a small amount of rice. I was informed that because of the diablo sauce I would not be getting vegetables. Really a little sauce and you decide to take something away without informing me? After a heated discussion with the owner he relented and gave me some vegetables. I realize that the pandemic has hurt these types of businesses but they still need to be transparent with customers. In this case they should update their menus and if necessary adjust prices to enable them to provided what disclosed on the menus. We will be here for four months and will not be returning to Dos Chiles. read more

Dos Chiles was the last place we visited in the Marina, but by far the freshest and best taste and balanced food in this area. Wishing we started here. This place was awesome. They free pour the drinks in front of you which is always nice. We got the Mexican combo which was $230 pesos and it was perfect to split between my husband and I. The salsa is basically pico and chips but the pico was super fresh and the chips were fresh made chips. The Mexican combo came with beef fajitas refried beans, 1 quesadilla, 1 stuffed jalapeño, 2 Chicken taquitos. Perfect amount and was delicious. read more

We stayed at an all inclusive at Barcelona and ventured to P.A. For the day to eat anything other than what our resort was offering. This place was amazing, seating in the shade, great service (he even remembered our names when we came back the next night), they take credit cards! Our experience was fantastic until after we paid our bill. Great seafood at reasonable prices. After our meal, we walked to the ice cream shot next door and the waiter pull me aside. We paid for our meal is pesos leaving a 15% tip or about $20usd. Well, this guy proceeded to tell me that there was a small rip in one of our $500 pesos bill and he could not take it plus, and this is what caught me off guard, he proceeded to tell me it was customary to leave a 50% tip in an high end restaurant like theirs. At first, I thought I misunderstood what he said so I asked for him to clarify and indeed again he said 50%. Not waiting to cause a scene, I gave him another $500 pesos bill in addition to the ripped one and that was that. In my opinion, perhaps this is only one reason why this place is practically empty when all other restaurants in the marina are so busy. Give your money to other folks who will work hard for it. read more
