I guess that's American style of oversized portions. Flavors were good...seasoned meat, fresh ingredients. I would give one piece of advice for a more successful arepa...make it a little thinner. The edges were overly thick and thus, doughy with a chew you don't want for this food. If you haven't had Venezuelan food, try it. It's not Mexican...nowhere near it. I wish we had an option like this in Twin.

Biggest complaint: my wife is allergic to tomatoes and told the waitress she specifically wanted the tortilla soup and asked if it had tomatoes. The waitress said she didn't know and said she'd let her know and if it did, my wife would then get her the second choice. After a long wait, the food started showing up. The soup was last. My wifes was chock full of tomatoes. The waitress didn't do anything about it. Another waitress came out and handled it, followed up by the man I believed to be the manager or owner. He was great. We were there for a birthday dinner. The celebrant's husband told the staff when we came in that this was a birthday dinner. They forgot- unfortunately, and we reminded them. They put on the ritz for the birthday girl and did a fine job. For that we thank them. However, we won't be going back. The manager guy was very professional and great to deal with. He gets a 5 stars. The place was packed so we very well could have been the exception. It's all good.

We ordered two taco platters: steak and chicken. Both meats were delicious. We also love the rice and beans. These two platters fed my small family of four. The ambience is chill, fun and festive. Sal's Pupuseria is as close as it gets in Idaho Falls. The Loroco Y Queso pupusa is my favorite, no matter where I am. It's basically herbs & cheese but so delicious. The curtido (cabbage) at Sal's is a great addition and well seasoned. The carne asada taco was good. It was flavorful and bigger than your average street taco. However, it was pretty greasy. Use several napkins and then wash your hands right after type of greasy...but that's where the flavors at! Lol. Prices are slightly higher than the other places I'm accustomed to. However, my options in Idaho Falls for Salvadorian comfort food are limited so I'll take what I can get. Everything is cooked when you order it so be prepared to wait for a bit or call ahead. There were probably 3-4 people ahead of me during lunch hour and I waited close to 30 minutes for my food. The gentleman who works the counter isn't overly friendly but I understand that not everyone's personality is the same as mine. He was nice enough that I didn't feel uncomfortable. The tables outside of this truck have shade and are big enough to accommodate a party of 12, but they are comically high. Sitting on the bench, my food was about eye level, and my kids had to stand. I'd recommend grabbing it and going somewhere else to eat.
