It's a pretty small place. They don't have space for very large parties. Service was decent. The food was mediocre. I ordered Pollo Ala Crema and everywhere else I have had it it's always been onions, mushrooms, and chicken in a cream sauce. For some bizarre reason this place also adds carrots and celery giving a very strange flavor. The chicken was very dry and bland. On my whole plate there was maybe 3-4 mushrooms, lots of onions, carrots, and celery. The cream sauce was decent. I don't believe their tortillas are homemade either. read more

While going to Utah from Idaho we were feeling hungry and we decided to have lunch at El Mirador. It is a small Mexican restaurant. We were greeted by our server Luis and after exploring the menu we decided to order Chile peppers, Mexican Pizza and Chicken Tacos. Our server bought water along with chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious and it was amazing with chips. Our order came in 10-15 minutes. First we tried Chile peppers which were okay. Then we tried Mexican Pizza which was new for us. The pizza looked delicious and it was good. Then we had tacos and we didn't like the chicken in tacos as well as pizza. It had weird taste. In town on business and picked this place for dinner based on reviews. I ordered The crema Molajecte. I've never had this dish before and thought it was quite good. I could only manage to eat 1/3 of it. I don't remember what my fiance ordered, but it was something with thin steak and a side chili relleno. He didn't like anything. The steak was like Jerky and the chili relleno was weird and cooked like an egg omlette. That isn't what we are used to. The worst part of the whole experience was they don't serve queso!!!! I've never been to a Mexican restaurant that doesn't serve queso. It's the one thing I look forward to most. Oh well. I also ordered churros with caramel sauce to go. They were delicious! Not bad at all. It's a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant in Blackfoot, Idaho; that's how you should set your expectation level. I had the tacos al carbon which weren't bad, though the shells were a bit soggy. I couldn't pick them up and ate them with a fork. The rice wasn't bad at all. The beans were a bit on the drier side. The service was great and our server was very attentive. Definitely a good experience and I'd recommend it, especially if you're trying to eat on a Sunday in southeastern Idaho when most places are closed! read more

My family and I usually like going to El Mirador. Unfortunately we made a big order for carnitas, for a party. The food had no spices or flavor. It seemed as though they boiled it in water, rather than fry it ( how carnitas are usually made/cooked). We were all very disappointed in how much we paid for it, to get something that was flavorless. read more

Stopped over at this little gem after leaving Craters of the Moon, and it did not disappoint. I was so hungry I ate half the meal before taking the picture. I ordered fajitas half shrimp and carnitas. Very delicious!!! We were a party of 11, and the waitress provided exceptional service. She was very accommodating, as we are a demanding group. She was able to make suggestions and alter the menu. Half of us are vegetarian and restuarant had plenty to offer. All 11 of us were happy with the food and service. If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely make a stop here. read more

All reviews are relative. I wouldn't hold a burger joint to the same standards I would a fine dining establishment. Likewise, this restaurant, a "hole in the wall" Mexican joint, has to be rated for what it is; you cannot expect anything fancy but if you go in with reasonable expectations, there are pretty good at what they do. They make surprisingly good Mexican food with a large menu offered at a cheap price. Blackfoot doesn't have a huge variety of restaurants, but I was pleasantly surprised with the food we received here. In a larger city, I'd rate it 3 stars, but considering the size of Blackfoot, I'd say this is a solid 4 star place and worth a visit. read more

Had a nice little lunch here, as we were traveling through on the 15. I had the molè enchiladas, my husband the taco lunch combo, and my son the beef fajitas. The food was good, we also shared a shrimp cocktail that was good. Service was pretty good as well. read more

Not very good. No flavor. Cheddar cheese on everything. Bland food. Eaten better Mexican in hospitals.

Maybe it was an off day for them but the service was fair at best. The server was not rude, just had 'no carrying' attitude. The meals for all 4 of us were a bit disappointing. Again, not bad, but wasn't great. It will be quite some time before we return. There are other and for us better choices in town. read more

My wife and ate dinner at El Mirador on 10/18/19 and found the restaurant very nice. The service was a little slow but the chips and salad were excellent. We both ordered the green pork, I had a burrito and the wife had the enchiladas. The food tasted good but hours after we ate we both got sick. Food poisoning for sure. We both were up all night puking and couldn't get off the toilet. We called them and let them know we had gotten sick. They were nice and offered us a refund. I told them we weren't interested in a refund but we just wanted them to know so they could check their food. read more

Not my personal favorite Mexican food, but this looks to be a safe bet for a good meal in a small town. Service was on top of their game, and kept those delicious chips and drinks filled up better than I've seen in a long time. They have a lot of reasonably priced lunch specials, including a half order of fajitas for less than $10. Can't beat that. read more

Chips tasted cheap, salsa was runny and didn't taste that well either. I ordered a chimichanga and it was definitely the worst I've ever had. My girlfriend ordered enchiladas and she said they tasted decent. Wouldn't eat here again.
