The minute you enter this cute little place, you're transported back to Mexico. They also sell authentic products, treats, drinks and spices. My heart warms up every time I come here. It feels like an interesting local spot right from Mexico. It has a grocery store component with lots of authentic Mexican items, including tortilla chips, spices and sauces. They have freshly prepared tacos . They have a good deal of $18 for 4 tacos, and they allow you to mix and match different types. Those tacos have quite a bit of meat which is really nice, but are a little bit on the simple side. The sauces are very spicy, so just beware. This is an inexpensive and casual taco spot that can't be beat! They have taco specials daily, and their $1 tacos are only slightly smaller than their regular ones. The Hubster and I came out of here with a roughly $20 bill and were quite satisfied. The chorizo tacos are juicy and flavourful. Service was a bit slow, but there isn't a ton of staff there, and the food is very fresh. This is definitely a spot to just sit, relax and enjoy the meal. read more

A whole world of flavour! Latin World is a great little shop and restaurant with two locations in Toronto. Both are awesome with a place to buy a new favourite sauce or sit down for a plate of tacos. Recently, when some friends wanted bagels on a Saturday Morning, I saw Latin World next door and my heart told me that I wanted tacos much more (did I just make a rhyming poem?!?). Not only did I also walk out with a bottle of a hot sauce that I couldn't find anywhere else - I got four chorizo tacos for 12ish dollars! They came with a homemade hot space on the side, cilantro, a little onion- perfect. Why wait in line for brunch when you're always moments away from this gold? read more

Hole-in-the-wall mom-and-pop budget Mexican place with a snack shop in the back. There's usually just one girl running the place and she's very nice. Vegetarians beware: it is pork heavy but there is veggie tamales ($3.50 each according to the menu, but who knows because I keep eating about $30 worth of food here with my friends every time). I think this is as close to authentic and low priced Mexican as you can get in Toronto. If you liked Tenoche you'll like this place. No room wasted on stupid lettuce and tomatos and sour cream or whatever white folk put in tacos these days. There is meat, onions lime and cilantro instead. Read this: They have barbecued tripa (tripe), lengua (tongue) tacos on the menu! YES! (Those were $12) There's nachos with zesty hot salsa with every eat in meal. The chicken pozole ($5) is super savoury with pieces of shredded chicken, hominy, chiles and jalapenos (perfect for a cold day) and the bistek and tripe/lengua tacos came with a couple globs of fat but were not offensive. They may be in a rush, the meat may be dry, and they don't double-tortilla your tacos like some tacquerias do but you will do just fine here. What a sad disaster; I went in with my S.O. and ordered some beers but "the beers haven't arrived yet", mind you, it was 2pm. Anyway, we moved on and ordered a guac that looked like a lazy ass man version of a guac: the avocado wasn't even mashed! plus, it lacked every possible condiment in the guacamole book. Moving on, I ordered chicken tacos and guess what ? they didn't have chicken that day either! come on Latin World guys! do you know how close your place is from No Frills and LCBO?! No, I don't think you knew that one. You're welcome. I ended up having al pastor and honestly I was a bit scared I would get food poisoning from them (I didnt). The guy in the kitchen was handling the food without any gloves and was wearing no hair net, thank goodness lots of aqua net he had holding all those hairs in place. I ordered here on sunday and from their other location on bloor the week before. They forgot one of my orders at the bloor location but the st clair location gave it to me a week after. I highly recommend the pork sopes and carnitas tacos. Some of the others are more salty and savoury... They gave me 3 salsas to go and a handful of mexican candies were also in my takeout bag. They are really nice and the chef did an amazing job. I wish I lived closer. When you call them you need to confirm where you are calling, on google the st clair location had the bloor phone number and I went to the wrong location for my takeout the first time. Bloor begins with 416. St clair begins with 647. Have fun. read more

Disappointed. Sign outside advertised "Today's special $1 Pastor" but when I went inside they said they didn't have it today. So I ordered take out - a 4 taco meal, 2carnita and 2 chorizo. Received 2 chicken instead of carnitas. Salsa on the side came from a bottle. They tasted fine but a bit bland for my liking. Go to Itacate just down the street for way better tacos. Serendipitous discovery of amazing Mexican on St Clair. Food is great. We tried tacos, tamales, guac, a burrito and huevos divorciados. Everything was top notch. Loved the milder red salsa, it had a nice smoky taste. Kids declared the burrito the "best ever" (vs Burrito Boyz). Prices are also very reasonable and it's a nice, comfortable space with a little Latin market in back. Will definitely be coming back. read more

My sister and I walked by Latin word this morning and decided to give it a try due to no lineup and it's $5.99 promoted menus out front. Much to our disappointment, we were advised that the price advertised is 2 years old and they wouldn't honor it- even after we had paid. I think that's poor business practice and considering they need the business, they should really not falsely advertise this. My review on the service and food are completely different. They had really delicious coffee (which we purchased in bag form) and a good hearty meal. The service was decent. I hope this review is taken seriously by the owners so that they can correct their overdue mistake. We would return and recommend only if the false advertising is changed going forward. read more

NEVER GO HERE! I have never written a review before but wanted to warn people against going here. I went in and ordered tacos and a veggie burrito. We were told it would be 15 minutes. We were in a rush but decided to wait. Fast forward one hour later and still no food. We were given no explanation while waiting. Finally it came out and I started eating. After a third of a way in I noticed a piece of meat in my veggie burrito. I've been a vegetarian for about 3 years now and was fairly upset. I was offered a small apology and I then had to fight to get my money back. I left hungry and pretty upset. Definitely not going back. read more

My recent visit to Latin World was a disappointment. I had been there once about a year ago, when they had a matured woman preparing the dishes, and the food was excellent. However, this time the difference was abismal, it changed for the worst. First, they did not have half of the dishes on the menu nor any kind of beer. I ended up ordering one of the three only items available, a "cochinita" burrito. I could not eat more than half of it. The pork was as tasteless as the rice with whole leaves of salad and cold grated cheese. The guacamole starter was disgusting. It consisted of chunks of avocado with big strips of onion and little salt and oil. read more

I just ordered Uber eats from this place and was disappointed I ordered the chirozo taco, without onions and all it was chirozo & cilantro. It was too plain, I found the food an utter disappointment considering I had to wait an hour for these disgusting things worst taco experience ever! read more

Not a nice experience. Tacos al pastor were tasteless, the salsas were not fresh, pretty old looking and tasting just old. My entry came after I finished my tacos, I ordered nachos with guacamole and they didn't have avocado so ok they brought them with beans. Again, nothing tasty to talk about it. A Pozole was brought and after a few minutes I had to ask for the toppings such as oregano, onion, salad. They didn't have coke or Pepsi which are basic drinks. Again, a big dishonour to Mexican food with these so called tacos. Avoid this place. I am giving 1 star only because the waiter was really trying her best. - read more

Just ordered from Uber eats, it got here fast. I will not order again though. We got tacos and a burrito, and a tres leches for dessert. Can't say anything was good. Too salty, too greasy, lacking with fresh flavour. The cake was soggy even. I'm sure it would have been passable if I was intoxicated. read more

Excellent food. Great prices too! Had chorizo, chicken and carnitas tacos. As someone who's travelled extensively in Latin America, I'd say this is probably the most authentic joint I've had the pleasure of visiting in Canada. Will definitely come back! read more
