What a great experience! Not only is Herve a great instructor overall, he knows how to guide you using language that resonates with your background. It doesn't matter what you did before learning salsa-he will speak your language and will make a dancer out of you! If you're coming in as a couple and want to learn how to dance better with each other, Herve will deliver. Vamos a bailar !!! read more

Coming from a highly uncoordinated person with zero experience in partner dancing, I am really blown away by the effectiveness of Herven's classes! After only 3 sessions, my husband and I feel like we already have a solid foundation in salsa dancing! Herven is super sweet, energetic and professional. I really look forward to the class. We listen to some great music, socialize and laugh all while learning new cool moves. I've seen singles and couples take the classes so it works either way. The prices are well worth the value. Highly recommended him! read more

I can't expressed how happy I am with this dance studio. I've attended 9 classes and I can't get enough. The instructors are amazing. Hervin is awesome. You even get videos texted to you to be able to practice at home or with your partner. I've been wanting to start taking salsa lessons for almost 3 years and could not find a class in the north Broward area equivalent to the ones in Miami. I can honestly say this one is it. In just 9 classes I can see the difference. What an amazing leg workout as well. If I could give this studio a 10 I would. I look forward to going weekly. Everyone I met have also been awesome. I can't wait until 6 months from now and I see myself rocking it on the dance floor like a professional thanks to this dance studio and their instructors..:))) read more

I was taking Latin dance for an upcoming semester at college and decided to get a jumpstart by doing a week at Latin dance movement while on vacation. Hervin was exceptional at instruction and patient as I was off a step or two often. If I was a local I would be a member for sure. Also check out his YouTube of salsa ninja! read more

Written 7/2/18 If I could give Hervin 10 stars I would. Learning salsa/how to dance has taken's my confidence to the next level. Because of Hervin had to fear competing in front of 500 people at the Worlds sexiest man competition on a cruise. Trust me, learning from him is a game changer. He treats everyone like family and will work with you to make sure you're doing the steps right. ----- Written 5 months ago I've taken several beginner classes with Hervin and he's done a great job teaching me patterns to use at salsa clubs. I was impressed with his ability to teach patterns to large classes while still giving each person individual feedback on how to get better. He's clearly passionate about what he does and I'd recommend checking out his read more

I took Private lessons w Hervin in Fall 2016 and resumed w group classes Jan 2018. I'm really impressed with how much I was able to retain with his teaching style. I've taken classes at several places before and Hervin really has a gift for making people feel comfortable while Still pushing you. You will see the progress with him! He's extremely encouraging and a great coach. Always leave his classes having a great time and he's extremely engaging w his students outside of class as well read more

Full Disclosure: I am Cuban/Colombian and unfortunately was not blessed by the salsa dance gods when I came into this world. So a couple weeks ago I decided to take some salsa classes. I have learned soooo much in a short amount of time. Hervin is an exceptional dance instructor that breaks movements down in a fundamental way that's easy to understand. The group classes have a great mix of fun people to learn how to dance with. Thanks to Hervin, I am confident that I will be dancing to the rhythm of the salsa gods in no time! read more

I keep having this conversation with people. They tell me: "Oh, I don't know how to dance salsa." "You should take lessons!" I say encouragingly. I tell them about my (positive) experience. "Yeah, I should." Months pass. By this time, I continue my 3x/week salsa lessons, and I'm improving! Meanwhile, they still don't know how to dance salsa. Life waits for no one. I tell you this story because, if you're reading this, you're probably the person I referenced in the above story. What are you waiting for? Hervin is pretty much the kindest, funniest salsa instructor you could ask for. He gives really good styling tips for both men and women, for both leading and following, and he really does teach at a level/pace that allows you to pick things up quickly. Sure, you may not have it all refined yet, but you can do the moves! The more time goes on, the more you learn to focus on the intricacies of it all -- but to start out, you just have to get out there and move your feet. I attend here because 1) I like Hervin's instruction & friendliness, 2) the dress code is casual, and 3) the unlimited plan fits into my budget. (25 lessons down with plenty more to come!) read more

There are tons of salsa/latin dance places in Miami, but finding an honest and reliable teacher is not as easy as it should be...Hervin totally solves that problem. My husband and I worked with Hervin to learn merengue for our first dance at our wedding. We were complete beginners and Hervin was beyond patient and kept a sense of humor. He is a great teacher and somehow always kept us engaged while having a great time. Also, he was completely flexible with scheduling and always easy to get in touch with. We will definitely look into taking future lessons with Hervin! read more

To start off with, my fiancé and I have no dancing experience whatsoever. Hervin was an incredible instructor in breaking everything down, step by step. He was patient and fun to work with. He had great analogies to break down dancing for my fiancé by comparing the steps to sports (genius lol!) Overall, we had a great time and will definitely be coming back in the future! read more

Hervin is a fantastic instructor, and makes learning salsa fun and easy. His group classes are always engaging and he finds ways to teach new moves every time. Would give 10 stars if I could! read more

My fiancé and I have taken about 4 lessons and have attended the salsa party for beginners. We have recommended his classes to all of our friends who will listen! We have had such an amazing experience thanks to Hervin, and enjoy practicing together. Now, after a only a few classes, we have been able to perfect about 3 different moves. The classes are made for all levels and a partner is not required! It is a great experience because you get to practice with others, of all different levels, which helps you get accustomed to different styles. I would recommend the class for beginners and those who are looking to perfect their salsa dance moves. Also, it makes for a great date night! read more

Hervin gives great instruction and keeps it light and fun. Each class we build more dance moves to use.

Fantastic place to start learning. Instructors are the real deal. Always excited when I go to class. I'm finally learning to dance salsa!

Hervin's instruction is the best. I have taken various salsa dance classes at different schools, and from different teachers. I have enjoyed Hervin's classes the most. They have the right blend of informality and formality, fun and learning. You can't just judge a school by going to one class. Different people show up on different days, the curriculum varies, and you get a good sense of the community after several classes on different days. The music selection is great, he is a highly skilled but extremely patient, friendly, and approachable dance instructor. You will learn, but you will not be aggressively pushed. You will be helped by videos, personal attention, and practice with other dancers. Hands down the best deal around for salsa classes! read more

We went to Latin Dance Movement looking for a choreographer for our wedding dance. They were quick to respond and very flexible while accommodating our private lessons with our busy schedule. Herwin was our instructor and his talent is unmatched. We enjoyed so much our time together, we learned, laughed and found a new friend in him. We'll be forever grateful for his patience and attention to details. We learned so much and our final dance came out so graceful and perfect. Highly recommend Herwin and his team at Latin Dance Movement. We look forward to meeting them again and continuing another set of classes in the future. read more

I was surprised with salsa classes!! We have been doing private lessons (3 so far) and one group class. Hervine is very clam and patient. The private and group classes are fun. The dance steps are broke down and super easy to follow. The key is repetition and we definitely do that in class. I am stoked to learn more so that me and my bea can feel completely comfortable dancing in public! :) read more

This is a great place to learn salsa and bachata from zero level to expert level. Hervin is a great teacher and has a lot of patience! and as we say in venezuela "Loro viejo no aprende hablar..." he has managed to teach me great steps and I hope to learn much more salsa. Also learned basic bachata. The place is great with plenty of space. Highly recommended academy either if you know nothing about salsa or if you want to go deep in it. read more

As a non latin Miami resident I was always fascinated by Latin music and dances like Salsa, Bachata etc... So me and my friend joined Hervin classes and all I can say is what a great experience. This place is definitely a scam. Went in for an intro class and all we did was talk about pricing and payment options the entire time. The instructor never once spoke about the type of dancing or benefits. We sat on a couch the entire time and did absolutely no dancing. This place is only interested in your money. read more

I wanted to get back to Salsa and found this place online and decided to give it a try. My first impression is great as the place is big, nicely decorated, with big mirrors (stationary and movable ones) that the whole studio is built for dancing. Is better than going to classes in a club as there is too much distraction. Hervin is a marvelous instructor. His attention to detail, well coordinate training steps, and the patient to explain help accelerated my learning tremendously. I took about 8 classes and have now the confident to go out and dance on my own. If you want to get into Salsa, this will be the place to learn it right. read more

Hervin is an absolutely awesome dance instructor! I love his style! I started some group salsa classes over a year ago, which lead me to quickly wanting to take some private classes with him (so glad I did) and I've been continuing to go to his group classes since. I highly recommend his private classes !!! He is extremely detailed, attentive, and makes you feel very comfortable while still remaining professional. His group classes are always so much fun and he offers both, Beginner and Intermediate, several times a week! read more

Hervin is THE BOMB!!! I searched for salsa lessons in Fort Lauderdale and read a lot of reviews and wound up calling Hervin based on other reviewers... initially I was able to feel the authenticity of the people and their reviews. Once I called him and we spoke to him, that sealed the deal. It was holiday season and he was in transition moving up to Fort Lauderdale so we got a great special for private lessons. After four private lessons me and my boo are on our way to joining the group lessons and we are going to be in competition! Thank you Hervin for all of your patience! Even with Skippy over here LOL. Not only did we find a great dance instructor but we also found a friend and a wonderful community. #blessed #bestsalsadateniteever read more

I came here with my girlfriend to learn Latin dancing, and I have not been disappointed. The variety of classes has been amazing, and the instructors are all talented and helpful. In particular, you should take classes with Hervin. He is an amazing dance teacher and his classes are very fun! read more

The classes are a perfect size, in which you feel you are getting individual instruction but for the best prices available in Miami-- $10/lesson if you buy 10 classes, and if you stay for a second class it's half off, giving you an opportunity to pay $7.50 a class. Not to mention, Hervin is in my opinion the best teacher in Miami. Have tried a few places out, and price aside, it's the best instruction you're going to receive. There are a number of dance instructors who are very professional and do an excellent job of taking you to the side and teaching you something, especially if you're having a hard time. Good vibes in the class, people are very friendly and get along making you feel more comfortable as well. If you are looking to start/continue with Latin dance(Salsa, Bachata, etc) , this is the place you want to come to. read more

Hervin is awesome! Take his classes! The group classes usually have 4-12 people, which is a good size. Classes are about 50 min. There is a beginner class, which is mostly about the basic steps and learning to count with the music. Take this if you have never danced before. The intermediate class has more complexity and is about turn patterns, styling, and learning to be a better leader or follower. I appreciate that Hervin teaches both mens' and ladies' styling. Some instructors focus so much on the guys that we ladies feel left out. Not here. It's a great way to learn, and it's fun. And reasonably priced for the quality of of the class. read more

Hervin is an exceptional instructor. He breaks down the beginner class movements into small bite-sized pieces. He doesn't lose sight of each individual in these large group classes either. While on vacation in Fort Lauderdale we decided to try salsa dancing. We contacted Hervin the day prior and left a message inquiring about the class. Within 5 minutes Hervin called us back and answered all of our questions. We showed up on Saturday for our dance class and had a great time. Hervin was an amazing instructor who taught us the basics of salsa in just one class. The other students were fun and everyone felt comfortable in the class no matter what level of skill you had.
