So let me contextualise this review a little for everyone. It started with Tim L. who created a…read morethread regarding what kind of restaurant would we open and one thing lead to another or should I say one Thalie A. led to a Josy A. who led to an Ela T. and here we are talking about buffets of all types good and bad. I'll be honest the more involve I got in to this conversation the more I had a craving for a Chinese buffet, so what did I do, I hid until the sun came down and out I went in search for my closet Chinese buffet fix. Yes just like that a simple conversation through yelp led me to a table with a fork in my hands within hours. Josy A. said I should be disappointed with the quality of the food I find which was sound advise to be honest as I was out to satisfy "the eternal hunger" that was a upon me. The second I've entered this place and the first time was not good it was bad but this time was different I had "the eternal hunger" which will last forever until my craving was satisfied for Chinese. I'd almost forgot this place is not Chinese it's a selection of pan Asia dishes ranging from Thai to Indian , which also had a barbecue station for grilled meet and veg as well as a man bread station that cooked the nan bread fresh in front if you. For £15 this is a good buffet purely because it was cheaper than the amount discussed in our thread but also the vast selection of food on offer. I feel my tip was accurate when I said indulge and overload, as I am now suffering from a pan Asia food coma onslaught all because I took Tim L's thread a little too far.

Don't be put off by the cheesy name of this place - it's a really good little restaurant…read more The service is usually spot on and the food is brilliant. My favourites are the moules (great sauce), the seafood risotto and the amazing scallops with pancetta and pea purée. But it's not all seafood, the meat is great too. The duck is lovely and the steak is really good. Not too pricey either.

Definitely don't be put off by the cheesy name! I love this restaurant and go regularly. The…read moreatmosphere always seems just right - not too loud (you can sit at a big table and still hear what everyone in your group has to say) - but also not too quiet or staid. It's semi-formal but by no means posh or pretentious. Staff are attentive and friendly. Prices are mid range - higher than many Bromley restaurants but not over priced (I think my share came to around £35 including wine). My last visit last Friday I had bruschetta starter (portion was probably a bit big for a starter) then the salmon with crushed potatoes, green beans and side of broccoli with chilli. Salmon was cooked perfectly and the broccoli fresh, al dente, and adequately 'chilli'. Skipped pudding this time for another glass of wine. The house wine is reliably drinkable. This is my favourite Bromley restaurant now that the Thai has shut! Parking is limited on the street, it's definitely best to be on foot but if you're lucky or arrive early there is sometimes space on the road in front.

I like good beer. Ney, I LOVE good beer. Most pubs only have one or two beers that I would classify…read moreas 'good', so it is always a bonus to find a place with a solid variety of 'good' beer on tap and not just in the bottle. Fortunately, if you are in Bromley, the Barrel and Horn is the perfect place to find a great variety of really good beer on tap. The selection ranges from local London breweries to top notch ones Stateside as well. In my first visit here, they had Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale on draft! That's hard to find in its birthplace of California, but to be on tap in Bromley/London is a shear gift from the beer gods. Okay, so they've got good beer, I've made that clear. They also serve a good selection of food as well. Not the a-typical pub grub, this is more of a fancy/gastropub type menu, featuring ribs, gourmet sandwiches, a pulled pork salad and much more. The decor is very comfy chic. A few couches, mix of different types of tables and even an elevated dining room that your country mother would be impressed by!

Pros: great beer selection, beer snobs will love it here. Nice traditional / hipster pub decor…read more Quiet and friendly atmosphere and some food is pretty decent. Cons: While some food is good, some isn't great because of the price. There are some great dishes that are worth it, (wings) and some stuff which is lacking (nachos). The place is quiet most nights but is super loud on Friday because of the band, which isn't welcome when all you want a quiet drink to chat with friends after work!
