I recently visited this little deli in LFK and I absolutely loved it. The deli is on the smallish side but they do have indoor seating and a little patio out front. The ambiance is pretty bare bones but they definitely advertise their political stance and I appreciate that because I like to support like minded places and people. They also had signage up that was super informative and helpful for certain situations one might run into in this current environment. The kitchen is super open and the service was friendly. They offer a variety of sandwiches, sides, soups, Italian sodas, and even catering. I went with the Classic sandwich: roast chicken, turkey, bacon, Colby, green leaf lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo, and avocado spread on toasted whole grain. I did have them swap the whole grain for sourdough because I'm a sourdough junkie. They were totally accommodating. The sandwich was delicious. The deli meat was high quality and had a great flavor. The veggies were fresh. The sandwich stacked. Highly recommend. They have a bunch of sides like potato, pasta, and even green salads, plus Mac and cheese, but I went with the tomato soup. The tomato soup is housemade with white wine and aromatics and topped with a dill crème fraische. The soup was so good that I would have happily eaten a giant vat of it and would have been satisfied. This will probably be the side I order for life. Although they do have a daily soup so that may have to be tried in the future. Definitely stop in and check them out! read more

Small, nice café. I think it would be a cute date spot if you go on an off busy time. They do have a little bit of outdoor seating for nicer weather too. The sandwiches we had were so good. Latchkey Deli was a new stop for me when I was in Lawrence recently. I opted for the create your own melt with turkey and pimento cheese with a side of pasta salad. The sandwich was a good size and who doesn't love pimento cheese? The pasta salad was tasty and not overly dressed. Came here for lunch today. It's a great looking menu. I couldn't decide between the pimento cheese and the Reuben, so I got half of each. Ruben was good, but as others mentioned, a little saltier than you'd expect. Pimento cheese was also good. If I got it again, I'd either hold or go light on the spinach. Mac salad and chips were both good. My daughter got the dip sandwich. It was a bit messy, but she enjoyed it. The hot was the Mac and cheese side. Very good. She also liked her strawberry soda. Terrific sandwich option on Mass! They have special sandwiches throughout the week that's dependant on the day. Would definitely recommend the Hot Beef Louise! The meat is fire and the the jous is perfect. The seasoning on it is elite. Would also recommend the mac & cheese on the side. Very creamy and soft without compromising the cheese. An underrated experience at Latchkey is the baked goods. The cookies are terrific. Selection varies on day. All in all - Latchkey checks a bunch of boxes for a sandwich place. Okay....I know this isn't like a restaurant review group primarily, BUT: I just went to Latchkey Deli for the first time and it's divine. It's in Papa Keno's old location, and the design inside is gorgeous. It's incredibly clean (like amazingly clean) and there's a lovely little lounge area in the front with a comfy green couch. It's just really homey, in general. They have a veggie beet pastrami that was *delicious*. I personally love beets, and I've never had them prepared that way before, it was something else. Next time I really want to try the Lemon and Dill Lox, I *LOVE* lemon, I *LOVE* dill and I *LOVE* lox, so I can only assume this will be the best thing on the menu for me. The potato salad was perfect! It tasted like something my friends from the Ukraine make, but like with its own Lawrence twist. I loved it. The coffee delicious. The music on point. A great study spot too! They have coffee, and it's easy to focus. Everyone seems happy here! It's a great atmosphere. Everyone who works here is super nice, and all of the food is super good. I had a pineapple upside down cake for dessert that *chef's kiss*. Perfect with coffee. It had a good sugary crunch at the end of it. It tasted homemade. Everything was super filling and reasonably priced! Even the beet sandwich had me full! That's great. I'm (sort of) a vegetarian. I eat fish from time to time. It was great to eat a veggie sandwich that had me full. The veggie sandwiches from Java Break are similarly great for this! Neil makes an incredible panini there. All in all, "Latchkey Deli 10/10" I hope more people show up here! It's newer but it's really really good. THE REUBEN. I often order my Reuben with turkey, and the deli just happened to be out of it today. And, I'm grateful for it. The house cured/smoked pastrami, corned beef is unbelievably tender. They've mastered the balance of textures and flavors - it's a must order. We also ordered all things potato: housemade potato chips, potato salad, scalloped potatoes. Though all tasty, the scalloped potatoes were the winning spuds for me - creamy, cheesy, tender, and bursting with flavor. My personal must-try list is long, so I'll undoubtedly return soon. Very good sandwiches with high quality bread, meat, and cheese. For the two of us, we got our own sandwiches and shared a side of potato salad, which was plenty of food for a weekday lunch. The sandwiches are hefty! It did take a bit for our food to come out, but that wasn't a problem for dining in. Cute place, friendly staff. I hated it so much. I went with a friend. She got the Rueben and potato salad, I got the hot beef and macaroni. We swapped half to each other so we could each try both sandwiches. It was disgusting. Both sandwiches were so bad. Overwhelmingly salty and I am not at all sensitive to salt. My macaroni was ok except the crunchy topping was also crazy salty. My friend said the potato salad was ok. We barely ate but forced down a few bites because we spent $15 each and we were hungry. A woman took our trays and noticed we did not enjoy. She asked what she could do and we just asked for water to go. We didn't really know how to answer. I paired it with the potato corn chowder soup and that was good. My friend had a mushroom sandwich that looked really good and paired it with the pasta salad. I really liked their Italian soda; quite refreshing. We decided to grab stuff to go to take to our dudes. Both had The Classic paired with potato salad and they really enjoyed them.
