Very skilled practitioner, the place is clean and has a very cozy and natural feel to it, the rooms being named after the 5 chinese elements. The rates are very reasonable and I look forward to coming back again soon. Oh an it's in a very convenient location being close to several major bus routes. I had never done acupuncture before but was definitely open to the idea. I truly enjoyed the care I received at Abundant Health. My acupuncturist spent almost 45 minutes listening to my ailments and providing tips and recommendations for my hip and joint pain. Afterward our counseling session, I spent about 30 minutes laying on the table with a couple of needles in various parts of my body. They were thin, not very long, and all I felt was a type of warmness where the needles were inserted, with the one in my shin area being the most prominent. I am not exaggerating when I say that within 30 minutes (once I arrived home), I felt instantly better and was AMAZED at how good I felt, since I had not felt well at all in weeks (my nausea had been all day long). I immediately called Abundant Health to make another appointment for the next week, but the receptionist told me that they recommend not doing it for another two weeks, so I made another appointment for two weeks later. On top of that, on the morning of my next treatment, there had been a lot of snow in the area and THEY called ME to reschedule my appointment (I have not had good experiences with medical offices being pro-active and calling their patients/clients for any changes prior to the appointment!). Overall, I would go back to see them again in a heartbeat.

My response was: "Isn't that the point of reunification therapy," and that it was ordered by the court. Concluding our individual sessions (which I paid for as I was the client,) Phoebe wrote a note to the court stating that the reunification could not be facilitated. Later, I learned that Phoebe was meeting secretly with the child's mother. I find these actions to be highly unprofessional. Do this day I do not have contact with my child due to Phoebe's actions. I now do medication management with Dr. Irwin, who is great for those looking for alternatives to medication. I would say that she is about the whole person rather than just a medication hound. (She of course prescribes medication, but she was willing to work with me when I wanted to go off antidepressants for a while.) The foyer was recently refurbished so that it has a cozier sitting area than before. The office staff are kind, especially the billing department. It can definitely be difficult to get an appointment less than a month out, and every provider has guidelines for the patients they will or won't work with. My recommendation is to expect that finding the right therapist is like dating--it takes time and sometimes a lot of repeating the same story to different people before you find the right fit.

Dr. Sands and Julie (office manager), couldn't be more legit. Upon review, I didn't feel the need to make major changes. However, I was kind of embarrassed by my grammatical errors, etc. _________________________________________________________ My best friend and I have been going to see Dr. Sands for over 8 years. Dr. Sands is exceptionally non-judgemental and easy to relate to. You can't possibly freak this dr. out, no matter what you say. Everything you say is confidential so you don't have to worry about other people knowing your business. Further, Dr. Sands is quiet; he listens to you and then asks you questions to try to bring out what you are really trying to say. Eight years ago, I found Dr. Sands. He prescribed anti-depressants and medication (Adderall) that changed my entire life. Whereas I used to be suicidal, regularly- angry/anxious and desirous of forcing myself into anything I considered exciting, after two years of treatment from Dr. Sands, I became non-depressive; I was able to work in a high-level professional career and found myself enjoying a level of life- satisfaction I never thought possible. His fees are extremely fair. He might not take insurance, but I guarantee, a visit and regular dr./patient relationship, will change your life for the positive. I don't think i would have ever become remotely as productive as I am today, without Dr. Sand's treatment and counseling. Now let's talk about Julie, Dr. Sands's office manager. Julie is amazing! She fits you n when she can and doesn't sell you on anything. Best of all, she doesn't get crazy -angry at you when you can't make your appointment because of a (real) flat-tire. She is extremely professional and kind. I love JULIE! She is a sweetheart who is professional- to- the- extreme, protective of Dr. Sands, and a really kind person who cares about patients she interacts with.
