Dr Eric Last "place" A so called medical professional who prioritizes a copay over his moral responsibilities and license to practice medicine. Your care is substandard at best and you have obviously lost site of any professional standards. Your flippant and arrogant attitude shows you're past your expiration and should consider feeding pigeons at the park. I am a new patient and had to wait a few months for an appointment but it was the same at my previous PCP. My husband is a patient and is always able to get an appointment quickly when he's sick. Dr Last was extremely thorough during my appointment. It was nice to not feel like I'm being rushed out of there. The other staff was kind and helpful. Last August I had Covid. I had a rapid test and after getting the result went and got another. When that came back positive, I called a friend who is a Nurse. She told me to call my dr and get a Z pack. I called the office. It should be noted that I hadn't been there a year or so. Anyway, I called the office and got a young woman on the phone whose voice I did not recognize. I told her my situation and the first thing she said was "WE DON'T PRESCRIBE Z PACK HERE!" Excuse me? (I didn't say this, but I thought, "WE don't prescribe this? Who the hell are you? You answer the damn phones!". It went downhill after that. "If you don't prescribe Z Pack, what do you do?" "You have to see the Dr." "Okay, when can I see him?" "You can't!" "Why not?" "You have Covid!" It was like a comedy routine. I hung up frustrated. I was fortunate to have a very mild case that cleared up in a week. Sadly, even though I love Dr Last and have been with him for over 30 years, it might be time to move on. He's got to be ready to retire and it was getting harder and harder to see him. I like the others, but Dr L is, or was, my guy. Over the years, I would say the vast majority of the Dr's I stopped seeing, it wasn't because of the Dr, it was the people up front who act like they were the ones who went to medical school and are obnoxious and arrogant to boot. PS- I saw a review that called Dr L a number of less than flattering names. As a now former patient due to an office worker, in my experience NONE of those names would ever be used. I don't know of a situation where he would be anything other than caring and compassionate. He really is the best if you can deal with the woman up front. read more

Warning to all senior citizens. My 95 yo father was a patient of Dr Last for several years. Dr Last was well aware of my father's CPOD and chronic high blood pressure due to the many times he was seen by Dr Last. Unfortunately when my father needed Dr Last the most he was totally let down by this doctor with zero morals or ethics. He refused to sign the death certificate forcing my father to be sent to the county morgue for further testing. Dr Last was extremely nasty and belligerent to family members and Nassau county personnel whom attempted to persuade him to sign the death certificate due to my father's well known existing medical conditions. and his age. I think Dr Last needs to take a deep dive into his moral convictions and leave the profession to people that actually care about their patients and not just the almighty dollar. If you are an elderly person please go to a different doctor that has a heart. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Last for many years now and I truly think he's one of the most caring doctors I've ever met. He does not rush to prescribe quick-fix pills and instead first promotes healthy lifestyle like good diet and exercise, but when medications are needed, he doesn't hesitate. And with his help, I finally quit smoking after more than 50 years of being a smoker. His staff is great -- the front desk people are somewhat quiet/reserved in style but they are totally professional and helpful any time I call for something or go in for an appointment. And the two Nurse Practitioners -- Sarah and Chenelle - are absolutely wonderful and thorough in their examinations. Dr. Last is an old-time physician -- the kind who spends the time to get to know his patients and listen to them. The world needs more like him. read more

I am a patient for over four years You never see him anymore age I guess is a factor he is my pcp in name only passes off everything on his incompetent new nurse practitioner who knows nothing young n dumb not up on any newer medication. Every time I go there and request what I need she gives me a run around and admits to not knowing her field then makes you do blood tests that have nothing to do with going their sends you to labs or anywhere passes the buck like dr last I come from Long Beach and have been turned away for going over 15 minute late policy even when I call in advance and explain I'm in traffic no loyalty he's a joke now and his nurse is worse Michael Korman read more

So I am Dr. Last's neighbor and the mother of his employee who he fired when she was seven months pregnant. I knew she had the right to sue him but we're neighbors and I dont want to have ill will. The woman right next to the office asked him to take down a tree which she thought threatened her home; he cut off a little from the top and that was it. Dr. Last then became a No. Shore L.IJ. associate and expanded his driveway with concrete to accomodate handicapped patients. All's well and good except that the huge tree is leaning towards my house and it needs to be removed. Hurricane season is here and just because you don't live under this dangerous situation you don't have the right to ignore it! Aren't doctors supposed to care about health and welfare of people?? read more

I starting seeing Dr. Last recently and I can say without any hesitation that he is absolutely the best physician I have ever had! He is extremely thorough and knowledgeable, and always has the time to explain things in a manner that is easily understandable while never "talking down" to me. I so appreciate his easy going nature and respect him more than I can ever describe! Also, I have found the staff in the office to be equally considerate and kind. I consider myself very fortunate indeed to have Dr. Last as my primary care physician!! read more
