Cheesesteak special
Apryl C.

Can't believe I've never reviewed LaSpada's! We've been coming here for years and honestly I have never had a bad sandwich! My go to is the cheesesteak or the original (Italian) and both are solid good options loaded with meat! The service is always quick and polite. There are a few tables inside to eat but nothing fancy. The ice tea is also always fresh and delightful!

My husband is originally from the Philly area and this is his favorite place in town. We drive from Winter Park to Sanford about once a month just so that he can get a cheesesteak from this greasy hole-in-the-wall. We recently brought a friend here and he got the pastrami and loved it too. The curly fries are super tasty too, and I always forget that they have them. The desserts look good, but I haven't tried them yet. It's not the fanciest place, but the food is good and it's clean enough that I will eat there with him. They also have Herr's chips and some fancy sodas that I appreciate too.

The food was great. The customer service was all right. There was a dining area where you could sit. They have a variety of chips that you can choose from. They also have a drink machine or a soda cooler if you would like a children drink not a fountain drink.

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile because the reviews are great but I was honestly not impressed with the food. For one, I ordered cheese fries and they were delivered without the cheese. And the cheesesteak sandwich is so dry, I can hardly even get it down. Sorry but first and last time trying this place.

This afternoon was my first time at this establishment. I wanted to get some lunch. The meal I ordered was a Steak Cheesesteak with lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, and onions. It was delicious. It was very flavorful and packed with meat and cheese. The service was very swift and everyone that worked there was very friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was very chill and relaxed. They have televisions on with sports. Overall it was a wonderful experience with spectacular food and I will be returning. That's all.

La spada's famous 12" $15.95

My coworkers and I visit La spada's at least once a month for lunch. I've tried most of their cheesesteaks, several of their hoagies, and salads. My favorite of all of them is the Laspada's Famous hoagie. The 12" is $15.95, which to me is a bit expensive; however, it's loaded with freshly sliced meat, cheese, and other ingredients to the point that you can't close the sandwich up to eat it. You almost have to eat it open-faced. Most of the time I'll only eat half and then save the other half for dinner. This location is very small, if you're coming for lunch you definitely have to be there right when they open at 11:00 a.m. because this place gets packed. The few tables they do have fill up quick. Sometimes we dine in, but when it's busy, it's hard to enjoy your meal with all the noise and everyone else standing around looking at you while they are waiting for their order. What works best for us is ordering our meals 15-30 minutes before they open, pick our order up, then go back to our shop to eat versus dining in. If you do order at the counter then dine-in know that your order could take 15-20 minutes to prepare. I took Nancy and my mom to Laspada's last week, it was their first time here. I ordered a laspada's famous and mom and Nancy both ordered the 10" mushroom cheese steak ($11.99), which all came out excellent The only thing Nancy wasn't too fond about was the bread, she says the bread was a bit chewy and didn't expect that. I don't know if it's a Philly thing, but the staff aren't super friendly, good luck getting someone to crack a smile. Yet they do get you what you need and overall do a great job making some delicious food. The store is not super clean, but it's not a fine dining restaurant either. All-n-all, I highly recommend stopping in to give them a try. If you don't, you are definitely missing out.

Did you use to have a sub shop in Coral Springs fl?

Yes. Located on Sample Road (West of University Drive). It's still there and operational, but I'm not sure if the LaSpada Family are the current owners or if they franchised it.

The sandwiches were hot, fresh and delicious with just the right amount of cheese on warm bread. The Classic Philly was chopped steak with onions, peppers and cheese cooked perfectly and tender. Delicious! The Chopped Cheese was burger and cheese with onion. Both sandwiches came with lettuce and fresh tomato on top and a side of mayo. We shared the generous portion of fries. Not just any fries, either. They were thick like steak fries but cut in small wedges and thick spirals. Hot and delicious and really good with a little ketchup. Hot day so we dined inside. He did ask if cheese and onions were okay which I appreciated. I absentmindedly forgot to make my buffalo cheesesteak with chicken. But it was okay with steak just not what I expected. Wish the cashier would've asked me which option I wanted but it's all good. Just know that it will default to steak of my you don't specify. Flavor was good. Sandwiches were hot even after driving home. Price tag is a bit on the higher side as the two sandwiches (one small and one reg) was roughly $27 without tax and tip. A $5 coupon was then applied so that was good. However, That was without sides. If you made them combos you're looking at close to $40. A tad hefty for my liking but I like supportinglocal

I tried the Philly cheesesteak on both occasions and I feel that something is off. On the first trip, I felt that the bread seems doughy and the meat to cheese ratio is off where there was too much cheese. The steak was chewy and different have must flavor that I'm used of tasting from a cheesesteak. In trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and believing that the experience was a bit off since this was carry out order and I didn't eat it right away, I decided to wait a bit before trying this place again. On the second trip, I ordered the same thing and paid extra to make it a hoagie (adding lettuce and tomatoes). I must say that I feel some kind a way about having to order extra for lettuce and tomatoes, but that was the choice I made. Instead of waiting, I decided to take a bite immediately when I got to my car. The bread was still too doughy for my liking and i feel there was too much cheese to make the sandwich too chewy. I tasted the meat separately and found the flavor lacking. In the end, I tossed the rest of the sandwich in the trash. So, I tried this place a couple of times and can't say I would go back for a third trip.

This mall does feel like a backroom, or liminal space. They are as advertised, a local Italian market, deli, and bakery. The trifecta, if you will. It's got a huge parking space area and located next to a gym. They offer a lot of Italian goods from cheese to meats to pistachio spread to snacks. The meat counter offers hot sandwiches and they even have a sandwich of the week. They have a bakery counter and to no one's surprise, many items will be sold out if you go at the end of the day. This was disappointing for me as I really wanted to try their pistachio sfogliatelle. So we got two huge sandwiches, which they cut in half for you, and some baked goods and coffee. They have a coffee counter and the lattes are good. We tried the sandwich of the week, which was a breaded chicken cutlet on fresh baked bread with caramelized onions, fig jam, and provolone. This was a 8.5/10. It was good, rich, and fatty. Not a light meal sandwich. Definitely had half of it and felt very full. We also got the Soprano, which was a breaded chicken cutlet on fresh baked bread with pesto, tomatoes, prosciutto, arugula, and fresh shaved parmesan. This was a 9/10. Lighter on the body than the other sandwich, but it was still filling and I can only have one half at a time. The sandwiches came out to about $30 for both, but that's almost four meals right there for that price. For the baked goods, we tried the Nutella sfogliatelle, pistachio creampuff, and a pistachio cannoli. A sfogliatelle is a laminated pastry that looks like a lobster tail. This was delicious and crispy and sweet. I wish I could have tried the pistachio one. This was a 8.5/10. The pistachio creampuff surprised me. This was a 8.5/10. I thought it was going to be too sweet, but it was good. Pistachio flavor could have been stronger. The pistachio cannoli was a 10/10. This was insanely good and perfect and I should have bought five of them. We tried the cookie butter latte from the cafe. This was a 9/10. The cookie butter was well mixed with the espresso and the espresso was strong and high quality. Overall, this place was a 9.5/10 and I will be back. I mean those prices and that quality moves it from the "let me try" list to the "let me be a regular" list.

Then, a few minutes later the sandwich was done to perfection and wrapped tightly. That was great customer service. Plus, they had a question and communicated to me that they had a question. This doesn't happen at all local delis. The store is clean and well stocked. There is much more of selection here of premade and/freshly made desserts, dinners, etc. Will be back for sure.

So I googled "Cheesesteak near me". A place by the name of "Pardon My Cheesesteak" amerged. I recall seeing the name on Uber Eats before. Surprisingly, their location was over this way in a plaza about 1 minute from my job. On maps it showed it was in between 2 restaurants I frequent for lunch. How have I not seen this before??! .. the plot thickens .. Their listing online said that they are delivery/pick up only spot. I decided to try them out, why not? So their menu said that their sandwiches come with melted cheese wiz type sauce AND provolone. I'm not a fan of cheese wiz on cheesesteaks, so I wanted to exclude it. Their online ordering portal would not allow me to make this alertation. I decided to try calling them. Their phone number started with (844) which I thought was weird? Call center maybe? The rep on the phone stated that the location is actually inside of Toojays restaurant, and he would connect me. I spoke with a woman (from Toojays) that stated when my order came through, she would tell them no cheese sauce. Easy enough right? I delve deeper into this, and saw on Pardon My Cheesesteak's website that they are a "Virtual" restuarant. They have multiple locations that are set up in various restaurants around town. This definitely peaked my interest. Do they just ship out their ingredients? Is there a Pardon My Cheesesteak worker actually in the kitchen at Toojays? A bit perplexing.. I never got the answers to my questions, because I stopped my quander abruptly after tasting my sandwich. In my opinion, it SUCKED. I consider myself a bit of a cheesesteak aficionado, and this by far was one of the worst I have ever had. It had absolutely NO seasoning. It was bland as could be. They didn't even bother to chop the steak inside, it was all folded up to one side. I tried adding some salt & pepper and a little bit of mayo. This made it edible for a little bit to help my hunger factor, but in the end, I didn't even finish it. It was horrible, so I threw it away - along with my $11.45 I paid for a SIX INCH catastrophe. I know my review might come off as a little harsh, but I call it like I see it .. or taste it. Being such a cheesesteak lover myself, I would definitely feel more passionate - hence my critical yet honest review. I also feel its my duty to advise fellow foodies of my experience and what could possibly be theirs. Consider yourself warned!
