So, I just recently had my second eye done by Dr. Wills at the McLean center. Due to allergies pretty much each season of the year, dry eyes, and acute astigmatism; I was reluctant to try both eyes at once. I got my left eye done (PRK, since I don't have enough cornea to correct my horrific vision via LASIK) 4 years ago. It took a good 6-9 months to fully heal (PRK does take longer). I still have increased sensitivity to light, some halo effects at night, and every once in a while eye pain when something gets in my eye that is worse than before the procedure. These are FINE! I am unshackled from the glasses that were required for me to do literally anything from the time I was 5. I did my research, I understood the risks, and spoke with several friends and coworkers to build a basis for my decision. It is still the best medical decision I have ever made. As I type, my right eye is now in the week 2 recovery period that is the most painful part of the process. It burns, itches, and everything is really bright. This is normal, and even though (as they mention several times) my visual acuity comes and goes and is still somewhat blurry, I can already see well enough to make it worthwhile. If my right eye ends up with better vision than I ever had with glasses (the way my left eye did) I will be ecstatic. Yes, I can't read as close to my face as I used to. Given that I used to have to touch the paper to my face to read without glasses, this is fine by me. Not only Dr. Wills, but the resident eye doc, the assistants and the front desk staff have been extremely friendly and professional at all times. I had each step of the assessment and Rx checked and rechecked by the staff before the procedure, and the front desk staff were very pleasant to deal with. For some of the negative reviews on here, if you had problems with scheduling or caught someone on a bad day and they weren't the most polite; THAT is a legitimate complaint. If you chose to complete ELECTIVE surgery based on zero actual research and a couple of marketing pamphlets and you're now surprised. . . you have no one to blame. Look, this IS surgery. There will be post-op pain, there will be a healing and adjustment period; NO surgery is 100% effective, some people WILL have complications! These are facts, and you should have done your homework. For anyone that is interested; do your homework, get your facts, get a couple of competing assessments and make an informed decision. It's not for everyone, but it was fantastic for me; and the McLean Lasik+ staff made the entire process a rewarding experience. read more

Dr. Wills - You are a SUPERSTAR! LasikPLus in Tysons was amazing! I had a consultation on Monday and setup my appointment two weeks later on a Saturday. Between the consultation and the surgery day, I was extremely nervous and literally watched all the Youtube videos out there. By the time Saturday came, I was pretty prepared mentally and excited to get the procedure done. However, I would highly recommend getting surgery done right away and not have such a long gap in between because you will just end up being too scared to get it done. On the day of the surgery, I checked in at 2:30pm and was called in for the surgery around 4:00pm, which is a pretty normal wait time as there are A LOT of people getting LASIK done. Once I got to the surgery room, I met the most amazing doctor named, Dr. Wills. Before meeting the doctor, I researched everything about him so I told him that it was nice to meet him in person finally. Dr. Wills was extremely friendly, sweet and calm. He definitely took good care of me and I had full confidence in him. The surgery itself was SUPER DUPER FAST! There is absolutely nothing to be scared off, it turned out to be an amazing experience for me because the experience was out of this world. There is absolutely no pain involved at all and you are done before you know it. Each of my eyes took about 16 seconds of laser each. I was definitely done with the whole thing in about 8-10minutes MAX. The staff at LasikPlus was amazing throughout my journey, I was able to reach them for any question I had in between the consultation and surgery day. Everyone at the Tysons location is super friendly and comforting. Dr. Wills is an angel! He has done over 90,000 surgeries so I was super excited to have him do the surgery for me. After the surgery I was able to see RIGHT away and 20/15 by the next day during the follow-up. Please don't be scared to get LASIK done, it is the most unreal feeling in the world to be able to see without any glasses or contact lenses. I went from -4.00 each eye to 20/15 after 20 years. First off: I'm very very happy with my vision! I had the LASIK procedure yesterday, then had my follow-up today, and my vision is now 20/15! I was initially scheduled to have LASIK at LasikPlus about a month ago, but long story short I didn't end up getting it that day for various reasons. Dr. Wills sat and talked with me for a good long while about my concerns, and I must say, I appreciated that a great deal. I was very grateful that he didn't try to pressure me into getting the procedure that day, and didn't make me feel like a baby for opting not to do it that day. Fast-forward to yesterday, I got my procedure done at the center in Tyson's Corner. The whole atmosphere was very calm, which was just what I needed. The procedure itself was quick and painless--I was just singing showtunes in my head and was good to go. I couldn't even make it through a whole verse of "Wonderful Guy" from South Pacific before it was all over! I could feel the pressure from the suction cup with the first laser--I just thought it felt cool, no pain. The second laser experience was crazy, but no pain again, and very quick. I took Ambien on my way out after the surgery, and it was very trippy--I don't usually take any kind of meds, so it really did a number on me. But I did sleep (with the craziest dreams ever). When I woke up, I had a major headache, but that cleared up with some ibuprofen, then I went back to sleep and woke up the next morning feeling a million times better. I am a little light-sensitive and have some hemorrhaging, but no pain, and most of the cloudiness is completely gone from my vision. Also, as a note, I really haven't felt a strong temptation to rub my eyes at all. If you're doing the drops right, you're keeping your eyes very moist and there's no contact in there to irritate, so it's no problem. All in all, I am immensely pleased! I had PRK here almost a week ago and everything went as perfect as I could have hoped. Everyone at this office is friendly, professional, and kind. The day of my procedure everyone was very patient with me and helped calm my nerves while they did last minute measurements and while I waited for the valium to kick in. Dr. Wills was fantastic, he helped me relax and made sure I knew exactly what to do post-op and told me if I needed anything to call the emergency number on my paperwork, that I was not alone and not to be afraid to reach out if I felt I needed anything during my healing process. The actual procedure was so fast: 16 seconds on one eye, 18 on the other! From -7 myopia with astigmatism to fixed, just like that. After I walked out of the operating room I burst into tears when I realized I could see and read everything around me. Super emotional moment for me. I honestly don't know what I was so afraid of for all those years but I am glad I finally took the plunge. Best thing I've ever done for myself and worth every penny! Dr. Wills then called me that evening after my nap to check on me and make sure I knew exactly what to do with the drops and everything else to make sure my healing started off right. Thank you so much Dr. Wills and LasikPlus! I just had my first follow up for bandage contact lens removal yesterday and they said I am healing right on schedule. I'm loving my new eyes! I went to the Lasik Institute to have the operation done. They did not test my eyes for dry eyes. They did not do a lot of procedures as I understood that they should've done before the surgery. I spoke to the surgeon for about five minutes before the procedure was done inside the room on the operating table, as I understood it, a reputable company would not of allowed that the surgeon would've spoken to me from the beginning till the end additional after the surgery I could not see clearly things were blurry. I went back after complaining multiple times exam from the office sold me the operation, set me down a chair for two minutes. Asked me to read two lines maybe three and told me I was fine. I did not feel fine. I knew I was not fine. I went for a second opinion and behold, they did not do the operation all the way under me, we only have two eyes were born with eyes and that's it like this is already a medical change. Do you do diligence with this company that I understood it owns three other companies under different names and they have filed bankruptcy multiple times. I should've done my research. I should've done, my phone calls and interviewed other companies before I let this company touch my eyes. I regret coming here. I feel like this was like a McDonald's drive-through they'll give you free drops. What does that matter when you only have two eyes read more

LasikPlus is the only Vision Center you should go to. I had PRK surgery in 2006 at another Lasik facility and I needed an enhancement. I refused to go to the original location due to the rudeness of the staff and the overall dissatisfaction with the experience. Going to the LasikPlus location in Tysons Corner was the best decision I ever made and I'm upset with myself for not going there initially. The staff is amazing, they are always willing to answer any questions you have, and they treat you like family when you come into the office. Dr. Wills is awesome. I worked in an O.R. for 3 years and I am very attuned to medical procedures. Dr. Wills is very professional, I adore is sterile technique, he corrected the star vision my previous PRK left me with, and he is overall an amazing and personable Doctor. I could go on for days detailing all of the wonderful attributes this location and its members have. Please, if you are considering getting Lasik/PRK surgery look no further and go see LasikPlus in Tysons Corner. I have told my family, friends, co-workers, and anyone else I come across about this location in the hopes that I can steer them in the right direction regarding their potential procedure. Prior to deciding on getting my surgery with Lasik Plus, I had consultation with many other center. They all told me different result so I was really nervous about this whole lasik done. I did research on my own and decided that Prk would better suit for my eyes type. Before going into surgery, Dr. Neil went over everything and I raised my concern about the result I got from the other doctors. Not only Dr. Neil reassured me about the safety of the provedure and that I shouldn't worry about iy. He also ordered his staff to exam my eyes 2 times prior to surgery to make sure the result is up to date and that my eyes will be ready for operation. I really like how Dr. Neil explained and guided me through every single details of what's he is doing to my eyes during surgery. Also Lasik Plus offered the best price of all the center I've went to. You're definitely getting the most of your money. The facility is nice and clean and staff here are very knowledgeable and can answer any questions or concerns you that you have. I just walked out of my first post op appointment (had the surgery yesterday afternoon) and I have to say the whole process was much better than I had anticipated. The front desk staff was welcoming and were able to answer all of my questions. From my consultation at the Alexandria office, I was under the guise that I'd be receiving Valium for the procedure, but when I arrived at the Tyson Corner location, I learned that was not the case. That made me even more nervous, but there really is no need for it and I was told 98% of patients don't take it. The actual surgery isn't too awful. It would have been though, if not for Dr. Wills!! He was amazing! Throughout the whole procedure, he coached me through - counting down the seconds, saying how great I was doing, that everything was going super. He really was the best. Yes, about 20 minutes after you leave the office, it feels like someone sprayed you with pepper spray - just sleep it off. I woke up this morning to crystal clear vision, it was amazing. At risk of sounding cliché, Lasik Plus changed my life in less than an afternoon. Prior to my procedure with Dr. Wills, I was constantly fussing with glasses that were most likely out of style, contacts that irritated my eyes and the never-ending challenge of always having contact solution when I traveled for work. I had a wonderfully awesome experience... I had wanted this done for the past 10 years, but was afraid to, procrastinated... it is my eyes, and it is a lot of money (It cost me around 2900 with my insurance discount.) I The Doctors there were absolutely wonderful at explaining the procedure (alleviating all worries) and walking me through the procedure.. Yes, I did a same day eval to lasik ( I was not sure if my eyes would even qualify ). From start to finish, the procedure itself took maybe 10 minutes. Afterwards I went home... and went to sleep (my eyes hurt - burny and stingy.. but when I got up.. boom! I could see. I had horrible (in my opinion) vision.. something like 400/300 or such... I am now seeing at 20/15. Even though, I have to now wear readers (I knew this going in) - Lasik does not help with Presbyopia - aging eyes... But I'd rather wear readers.. than have to deal with contacts and readers or bi-focals. and Glasses/contacts are soo expensive now... Regardless.. .BEST DECISION EVER !!!! read more

It's been about a month since I had my procedure. My eyesight is great, and aside from a little dryness, my eyes feel fine. It's nice not having to worry about keeping up with glasses anymore. As for the procedure itself, everything went smoothly. I was told it would be painless, which wasn't exactly true; however, the pain wasn't intense and only lasted a moment. Immediately after the procedure, my eyes burned and continually teared up for about six hours or so. I was given meds to help me sleep, and I did sleep, but the pain was only slightly better afterward. By the next day, though, all pain was gone. I did experience quite a bit of glare for a while, but that has largely gone away as well. Now, I only experience a slight amount of glare at night, but it's no worse than when I had glasses. Overall, my experience with Lasik Plus has been great and I would recommend them to anyone seeking to improve their eyesight. An added bonus was being able to donate all my old glasses at their office! read more

I did not have terrible vision to begin with, as I was wearing -2.75 contacts. My vision was just bad enough that I needed contacts or glasses to drive and perform daily tasks. I went in for a consultation on Monday and was in the office having Custom Wavefront Lasik on Thursday. The staff at LasikPlus were very friendly and Dr. Wills walked me through every step while he was performing surgery which took minutes. I was only under the laser for several seconds and it was painless! There were several patients in the waiting room the morning of my surgery, so it was evident that LasikPlus is very trusted and turns out customers rather quickly. I chose LasikPlus after my sister got it done. I am very iffy person and over the top in selecting doctors. My consultation was very thorough. I was given proper attention and than plenty of time to ask questions or concerns if I had any. No one rushed me out. The staff is amazing. They make you feel so comfortable and easy to talk to. Dr Wills was incredible. He made the whole process smooth and easy. I was a complete nerve ball going to in for the procedure, but the way he speaks to you and guides you throughout the process makes you calm. The actual procedure only took 10 minutes and the next day I was back at work with 20/15 vision. I recommend it to anyone who is considering vision correction. Dr. Wills made it a great and comfortable experience!!! I was originally going to get lasik 2 years ago and was here the day of treatment but my eyes were very dry. Dr. wills recommended for me to get it under control and come back. I got the dry eyes under control with eye drops, prescribed drops and a night gel. I was not able to come back immediately but got the treatment done yesterday and am seeing great!! He even called the night of treatment to see how I was doing. I went in and got my free consultation to see if I qualified as a candidate, being that I have extensive eye history myself and in my family. This being said I was incredibly nervous and did not know what to expect. The moment I walked in any reservations were left at the door because I was immediately welcomed by friendly staff. I had a great experience from my initial consultation to the procedure after. Today is my follow up and I'm very happy with my results. I qualified for the $250 program! That was a bonus but the staff and Dr. Willis are amazing. You feel the professional atmosphere and they go out of their way to make sure you have step by step instruction on what to do during and after procedure. I especially appreciated the check up call by Dr. Willis after my procedure. I felt taken care of! If you're thinking about this, do it!
