It was somewhat easy to get an appointment after getting through their maze of prompts. However, getting a call back to discuss a surgery and options after going in for an exam, is non existent. I have called set times and have been promised that someone would get back to me within 24-48 hours. 3 weeks later and I still have not had a call back. The folks here are tremendously friendly and helpful. Their process for check in is simple and proactive. They get you signed in with electronic forms which mostly auto-populates your information that you complete prior to your appointment so you don't have to write a whole bunch of info you already shared. They provide a video that answers a lot of the basic questions you may have about the procedure. The nurses are extremely knowledgeable and answered all my general questions. They were extremely polite and friendly. They offer you fresh coffee, tea or cold water while you wait. The system is very streamlined and you are never left unnoticed or unattended. The only drawback was that the advertised promotional rate is not even close to what you will be paying if you have a prescription higher than -1.00 (which most people in need of corrective lenses have). The radio add I heard, my insurance company or the person I spoke with from their call center did not make that clear so I can in expecting to pay $500+tax and the procedure is closer to $3500. So that is a little discouraging but a great customer experience other than that! read more

Miserable place. I signed up for an appointment on Thursday at 9 AM. Originally, I signed up for a weekend (which the site let me do) and then they called me up and said they were no longer doing weekend appointments (though the website still let you make). So, I rescheduled for a Thursday morning and took time off from work. Well, I make the 1/2 hour drive from my house and get there and the place is not even open! I look through the windows and doors and it's quite clearly closed though they indicated they were open for business 8-5. I tried calling them and never got my call returned. This place is wonderful what more can I say. From the initial call to the surgery itself I had a pleasant, calm and relaxing experience. On the day of surgery I walked in the center and the wait was very short and the front desk staff was absolutely wonderful. The staff was so calming and made sure that I understood everything and didn't make me feel like I was bothersome with all my questions and reassured me that I was going to be great because that day I was so nervous that I could have cried. Spent first day and a half sleeping. Check in for the consultation was speedy and they had all forms available online. Each step of the process was explained thoroughly and any questions I had were answered. Once I was determined to be a candidate, Taran discussed financing options with me. I booked my surgery for the following week, which was a plus I didn't have to wait a long time. The day before surgery that doctor himself called me to make sure any questions I had were answered. The morning I arrived for surgery I finished some paperwork, had my eyes re examined by Dr. Doug, took a seat for a bit then was escorted to see Cathy the RN. We discussed how to use the eye drops and go over the RX routine. You are offered Valium or Tylenol PM, I opted for the Valium since I was a little nervous. Once the doctor was ready I was escorted into the surgery suite. The temperature is kept a little cool so bring a sweater. Dr. Thomas looked into my eyes then added some anesthetic eye drops. I was placed on a table where more drops were added and the process began. The staff in the procedure room were amazing and so was the doctor. I want to stress one important thing... YOU FEEL NO PAIN!!! Only some pressure on your eye, and that pressure is only about 30 seconds per eye (the doc soothingly speaks to you the whole time so you aren't left guessing if what you are feeling is normal). Once you are done with the first part they walk you to a table and do the laser. Seriously took like 1 minute per eye. Start to finish in the surgery suite was about 10 minutes. It was also pretty cool my husband could watch the whole thing! He even video recorded it from their tv monitor facing him! Immediately I could see better. It was a little cloudy (like when you swim in a pool with your eyes open) wore the sunglasses home and went to bed. The anesthetic did start wearing off on the way home and the best way to describe the feeling is like the slight itchy and burning you get from allergies or really dry contacts. Also similar to the chlorine in the eye feel. Sleeping through next few hours took me through that discomfort and when I woke it was like night and day... the cloudy vision got a lot better and the burning was gone. Slight dry still, and the glasses are very beneficial. Seems like it protects my eyes from the air directory hitting my eyes. The doctor once again called to see how I was doing and what I was feeling or if I needed anything. That to me is amazing the doctor himself calls to follow up. My husband and I went out to dinner tonight and other than having to squint a bit and blink...it was amazing. I still can't believe I can see with out glasses or contacts. I have worn them for 25 years... so glad to be able to see! I have already told 3 people about this amazing place! read more

WOW!!! I did my research and read plenty of reviews about Lasik surgery, but could not have imagined the magnitude of how life changing this procedure really is! I had my surgery 3 days ago, and couldn't be happier. I made an initial appt a few weeks ago, to learn more about the cost, procedure, etc. The staff couldn't have been nicer, very professional. I made the appt and returned for the surgery, last Friday. I was checked in at 1:00, signed final paperwork, purchased the recommended drops. By the way, Dr. Thomas called the night before to see if I had any questions or concerns. One of the nurses lead me to an exam room and explained the post-op process and also offered a choice of valium or Tylenol PM (more about that later). Dr. Thomas checked my eyes one more time and I proceeded to the waiting area. A short time later I was escorted to the surgery suite, where I was given some numbing drops and the first part of the procedure began, little bit of pressure, NO pain whatsoever, and the staff was great about explaining each part of the process. I was then escorted to a table where the laser portion of the treatment took place, once again no pain. The entire procedure was over in less than 15 minutes. Dr. Thomas checked my eyes one more time, I was given sunglasses to wear and released at approx 2:00. A friend drove me home, approx 25-30 minute ride, I started to feel a bit anxious, I guess because I couldn't really open my eyes. I arrived home, very much looking forward to the recommended sleep needed after the surgery. I couldn't sleep, even after having taken the Tylenol PM, I was just much too anxious, couldn't relax. I wished that I had taken the Valium, I opted for the Tylenol, thinking that I only need to sleep, obviously I need to relax first and then fall asleep. My husband arrived home from work a couple hours later, which I guess helped me to relax, knowing that I could fall asleep and someone was home. I finally drifted off to sleep at approx 5:00 and woke up 3 hours later. I could IMMEDIATELY see! My eyes were still very sensitive to light, but OMG, the change was drastic in just those few hours. Once again Dr. Thomas had called to check on my progress. Gotta love him! Fast forward, after a good night's sleep, the next morning was even better. I returned for my post-op appt on Saturday and Dr. Thomas confirmed all was ok. and I proceeded to run errands (with sunglasses), throughout the day. Firstly, I traveled 3 hrs to this location from Michigan (road trip! Lol) as they were HIGHLY recommended! I couldn't be MORE pleased with the outcome! I was very very very anxious to get LASIK eye surgery. However from the moment I walked in for my consultation the team at the desk were friendly, prompt and understanding. Most or all of the staff are surgical nurses so everyone can answer questions or you wait a short moment for one. Everything was explained in detail at a pace unique to each individual. Once the exam was done I was given options for my surgery, for me there were 2 options and again everything was explained in as much or as little detail as I wanted which I appreciated. The staff called me as well as Dr. Thomas before my surgery to answer any questions (talk about A+ Service). The day of I was freaking out and everyone talked me through each process to ease my nerves. Dr. Thomas did an amazing job! He was so so so nice. He explained everything while he was performing the surgery. I can't remember the nurses names but a tall pretty brunette with flower crocs and a fun headband and a super friendly blonde were amazing as well as Dr. Duke who is the one who gives the eye exams and what not was also extremely professional and made me feel very comfortable during my time there. I would say to anyone scared or anxious to do this to come to LASIK Plus if you want 5 star service. It's your eyes and they are the only ones you have so do it right! My only complaint was the call center I got one time after they were closed the woman was quite difficult and didn't seem to fall in line with the spectacular customer service! After a couple simple tests, which are the same ones at your normal eye doctor, they determined I was a candidate for lasik! They were very patient and thorough when it came to payment options for the surgery itself and the breakdown of surgery day for me. This is by far the worst eye place possible!! After my exam was done by their tech, I went in to talk to the there Doctor about my results to see if I was a candidate. ( I already knew I was because for the pass 5 years my eye doctor told me I was. ) Apparently the Doctors at Lazik Plus do not feel it's necessary to actually do any test themselves before they give their "Medical opinion" and just go off of the test results they have in front of them. He proceeded to tell me that he was unable to get to me 20/20 vision because of what he read on a piece of paper which had my "test results from 1 exam they did 30 minutes ago". So naturally being a 30 year old women, who has yearly eye exams done I freaked out!! I mean I have some eye issues but none that would cause me no have lasik eye surgery done and not get a final result of 20/20. So I did what any logical person would do. I left immediately and called my eye Doctor. I talked with one of his tech's and told her what I just went through. She was applaud and told me she would email my Eye Doctor immediately. Well 1/2 hour later I got a call from him. He asked me what happened!? I told him I went to Lasik Plus he cut me off in mid sentence and told me RUN! He said if he knew I was going to go there he would have told me NO!! He took the time to explain the procedure to me. As he was explaining the procedure he said I should not be wearing over night contacts ( which I wear) before measuring my corneas for the test and I should have waited at least a week before getting tested or else I would not get an accurate reading bc my corneas would have been swollen. I never was told this by Lasik Plus when i got tested or by the guy that made the appointment. He also told me that after reviewing my chart that there was absolutely no reason why I wouldn't be able to get to 20/20. When I saw him back in March I was at 20/20 with my prescription. I'm sorry Lasik plus but I'm going to go with my actual eye Doctor opinion and not yours! Now I was like probably most of you that go there. That 250 per eye special got me in the door. I was clearly not a candidate for that special because of my bad eyes that's what this Doctor told me. I only qualify for the 2,300 per eye procedure. PLEASE DO RESEARCH BEFORE GOING HERE!!! I will be going through with this surgery with the Surgeon my Doctor told me to go to. Oh and it's a lot cheaper too! read more

I can see clearly now! On March 14, 2018, I stepped onto a path that will ultimately change my life. I had worn corrective lenses for 50 years (glasses, then contacts, then contacts with reading glasses). I am a teacher and found that the layers of corrective lenses started to impede the effectiveness of my performance in and out of the classroom. I had wanted to get lasik surgery for many years, but the cost held me back. As my vision continued to deteriorate, I realized that I could not afford to hold off surgery any longer! I honestly wish I could rate this place more than 5 stars because they deserve it!. From the time I scheduled my free consultation to the time I walked out of their office for my follow up they were extremely kind. Every single question I asked there was an answer for. During my consultation, I was able to sit and talk to a nurse about financing and was approved for that, awesome! Day of the surgery, I went in and finalized all of the paperwork, purchased my artificial tears and had one final eye exam to make sure that my vision hadn't worsened, which it didn't. During the procedure, of course you'll be scared because it's your eyes that are being operated on, but rest assure Dr. Thomas and his staff will make you feel as comfortable as possible. I personally am a bit weird. I actually researched, YouTube'd videos and testimonials about LASIK so I would know what I was walking into. While the procedure was happening, Dr. Thomas assured me that everything was going as planned and he even counted down so I wouldn't freak out while the machine was doing its job! That made me feel so much better. The whole thing takes less than 20 minutes. So I tell anybody, if you're THINKING about it, DO IT!! Before the procedure, my eyes were -2.50 and I had a small astigmatism in both eyes. Had my follow up two days later, now my vision is 20/15 (better than 20/20). So it does work. One thing I will advise anyone, if you don't have a tolerance for DISCOMFORT, not pain, but DISCOMFORT....take the medicine that they offer you when you're heading home. I didn't because I live alone and didn't want to oversleep and not take the medicine drops on time. Lastly, Dr. Thomas called me that same night and made sure I was doing okay and to see if I had any questions. That sealed the deal! I wish I could be a spokesperson for this place!
