Do not go here! Was required to pay 60 dollars to have the paper with my prescription handed over…read more A family member was told it is considered fraud due to a FTC rule. https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/complying-eyeglass-rule After contacting the office I was told that 60 was for the eye exam. The FTC states that is ok if they require immediate payment for the procedure, but FTC also states proof of insurance is considered payment in said situation. Meaning it was illegal to hold my prescription. My insurance was also billed 300 for the appointment and a separate 60 for the exam. Both are approved and paid despite this place saying it the 60 was not. Report filed with the FTC, insurance company is also aware. Was informed to request a chargeback and on credit card will be doing so.

Be very careful using this business. I think they area huge scam. I had three visits within 4 to 5…read moreweek period. And I was charge $40 for each visit that was my co-pay I have no idea what they charged the insurance company. Let me go back to the beginning I've been having higher pressure in my eyes so my regular doctor sent me to this place because they specialize and can give me prescription medications and do surgery if necessary. I've gone to this place probably five times in total. Back at the end very end of April I had my first visit in the set of three and I was told to come back in a month and we check on how the medication the eyedrops were working. All of the normal testing vision fields things of that nature we're done at that time. The pressure was still up a little so I was told to come back in 2 weeks another eyedrop would be added to my regimen and they just would check the actual pressure of my eyes. When I went in for the appointment that was two weeks from the last appointment they said I had to pay another $40 I initially refused because I was told it was just for a pressure check. The person in front office insisted that my insurance company requires that every time I step into the office I am charged a $40 fee which is totally untrue. I didn't know that at the time until I called my insurance company later so I paid it. I was still standing at the desk when one of the other employees went up to the Doctor Who was walking down the hall and voiced my complaint. I heard the doctor say to her it is only a pressure check. When that employee went back to tell the receptionist in the front the receptionist motion to her that with her hand that to go away she had already put my charge through. I was very upset and I voiced how upset I was to the different people first they put me in for another vision fields test ,which was a considerably shortened version from what I've had in the past which I had just had done a couple of weeks ago and then they wanted to go in and test my eyes again which I had just had done a few weeks ago, by looking at a chart. All Of these procedures I feel were put there or done again because of my being so upset. they were unnecessary. I feel since they charge me the $40 they wanted to make it look somewhat like an exam, and we're just done 2 weeks prior. I finally got to see the doctor the doctor repeated exactly verbatim to me what the girl in the front said to me about your insurance company requires that every time you walk through the door we charge you $40 I told her I didn't feel that was true but I had to talk to my insurance company first before I would argue the point. She seemed a bit perturbed at me at that point and never looked at my eyes. When we went out into the hallway she reached up into the cabinet and gave me two bottles of the eyedrops that I was taking and said here these are more expensive ones I'm feeling that she meant that to make up for the $40 extra that I had just paid that day. I called and talk to the office manager that day which was either the 19th or 20 June it's been over a month and nobody's ever called me back I told her if I didn't get my $40 back which I felt was unjustly charged to me I wasn't coming back there how many other people are being overcharged for these follow ups. So that was $120 I was charged in five weeks just on my end this is the reason why insurance companies and why insurance is so expensive because organizations like this are allowed to keep practicing. My insurance company said she could have chosen not to charge me for that last appointment because it was just a pressure check they do not require that when I walk into the office I pay the $40 they make the decision as to whether it's an appointment or not. I will be reporting this to other agencies as well and for sure to my insurance company I feel that I've given them adequate time to get back to me.
