NOTICE: THIS WILL BE A REALLY LONG REVIEW, I remind you. I don't know where to begin but anyway, this Friday (today) I'm having a party at my workplace. Unfortunately, since I will have no time to do my eye makeup today--still have classes and work to do today, I was thinking of having an eyelash extensions. Bear in mind I have had an eyelash extensions before for almost a year. Unfortunately, I don't really like the way it looked on me as I prefer a more whispy eyelashes on my eyes. I decided to find recommendations from Yelp on Wednesday but unfortunately, most of the places I asked were already booked before Friday. Fortunately I stumbled on Lashury and Patty was kind enough to put me on the next day's (Thursday's) schedule. She was also being considerate by moving my appointment into a later time due to the fact I finished my class close to my original appointment time--she changed my appointment from 5:30PM to 6:00PM since I finished my class at 4:50PM--and she was afraid I might come late and will affect the eyelash extensions process. Turns out my class ended a lil bit late than usual but thanks to Patty, I was able to come by without being late lol. This is one of the things I really appreciate from Patty. After I came, she asked me about my preference, my history with eyelash extensions, and even explained to me how there are certain techniques for each eyes shape, and that asian eyes' technique is different from other eyes'. She asked me what style I wanted to opt for and I thought since it would be a party, I opted for a more glamorous style: the winged style. At first I was afraid of how it would look like on me as usually I opted for a more natural, cuter look. However, I was surprised when she finished doing my eyelashes; I look so different--in a good way of course. The extensions make my eyes look brighter, bigger, and more lifted--no one was able to bring this effect to my eyes before. Today during the party, everyone was surprised with my new look; most of them told me that I look more awake due to the eyelash extensions. Everyone praised my eyelashes and I feel like a princess today tbh lol. In terms of shedding, there's only one eyelash that shedded today on my right eye but it's because I put contact lenses on both of my eyes--I had my eyelash extensions on Thursday evening and I put my contact lenses today early in the morning. In other words, it's my fault for it to shed because I didn't listen to Patty's advice--that I need to wait 24 hours until my eyelashes can get in contact with water--and proceed to put on my contacts on--and even eyeshadows later on lol--and wet my eyelash extensions. I'm honestly surprised that there's only one eyelash that shedded today as I was rubbing my eyes pretty hard today--I'm having trouble putting on contact lenses that's why. After the party, I removed all of my face makeup and carefully cleaned up my eyelash extensions and there's NOT EVEN SINGLE EYELASH that shedded this time and I was like holy f-- how the hell this could happen; my previous eyelash extensions I had will definitely shed after going through all those rubbing, contacts with liquids, etc. so I was surprised with how well these eyelashes stay in put. But yeah, please listen to Patty's advice and keep your extensions away from any liquid 24 hours after the extension lol; I was being naughty but thank God my extensions are still looking bomb YAY. While she was doing my extensions, she was kind enough to offer me snacks and water--which I highly appreciate since that day I was having a really bad sore throats. Regarding the undereye pads/tapes she put before the extensions (I don't know what you called it) that some reviewers mentioned here, at first it tugged into my bottom right eye part as well but she always asked me if anything is wrong etc and she would listen to you and adjust the pads/tapes for you if you are feeling uncomfortable--which was the case for me. Not only she is knowledgeable in her area, she is being considerate and truly cares about her clients. If there's anything wrong with the way she treats you, just tell her straight away--in a good manner of course--and I bet she will listen to you. I mean, don't expect everything to go smoothly if you can't speak up what's in your mind; again, not everyone can 100% guess what you want without asking. Final verdict? I would totally recommend this place, especially if you have monolids or droopy eyes like mine; Patty knows what she is doing and she literally listens to you and your wishes. Too bad I'll be leaving for a vacation within few weeks, but I will totally come again and opt for a more natural look for daily campus routine. I honestly don't know where to begin, This was the craziest experience of my whole life. My regular lash lady was out of town and I decided to book with this woman because of all her great reviews. It took her almost two hours to complete one eye. The results were horrible and I almost left right then. I decided to let her do the other side bc she said she would try to fix it. BIG MISTAKE! This chick literally talked shit to me for the next hour and a half. I was there for over three hours and she still wasn't done. I finally couldn't take it anymore so I just paid her full price and left while she was in the middle of doing her thing. Her work sucks - she has awful taste, she's slow, and she has an extremely difficult personality. I don't understand how she has so many reviews honestly. Update: went and got those monstrosity lashes removed today, and got my lashes fixed. The whole thing was $50 cheaper than what this insane woman charged me. It was also done in half the time and it looks 100% better. My lash lady couldn't believe what a crappy job this woman did. She said that the lashes were glued too close to the lash line, which is why they were poking me. The material and glue that she used was also really cheap. Just to note - I didn't ask for a refund and I don't want a refund. My time is valuable and getting my lashes done is a treat to myself. And I have now been to 2 different technicians who did In fact confirm that you are using horribly made cheap "fans" so u can call them what ever you want. She also genuinely cares about the health of your lashes and eyes in advising you how best to care for your lashes. Yes, placing each individual lash takes time, however, the results are amazing. Your lashes stay on so much longer when applied individually and the glue is allowed to dry. Patty takes the time to explain to you the lash application process and the style results you want. If you want to make sure your lashes stay, do not drink any caffeine products the day of your lash appointment since the caffeine will cause your eye lids to flutter. When you eye lids flutter, it will take twice as long to apply lashes since the eyelids are moving all around making it very difficult to grasp your lash without pulling it out. I have very sparse eye lashes and Patty makes the last extensions look so natural. I never have any gaps or spaces in my lashes. The first and last lash extension tech I went to would apply my lashes in one hour and then they would start falling out the very next day. Patty's lash application stays until the next fill. She sincerely cares about her customers by always cleaning the lashes and eye lids thoroughly before applying any new lashes. Patty is truly deserving of five stars. Anyone that gives her less than five stars is not telling all of the story or the truth. Patty has the best heart and is always kind. I went to see Patty for a consultation and patch test yesterday. Since I developed an allergic reaction in the past (from another lash salon), no one would do a patch test on me. I had waited 8 months to try again. Patty went above and beyond. She said she would attach 10 lashes to each eye, but she ended up doing 25 lashes on each eye! You can see how much she cares about the quality of her work. She was extremely gentle with meticulous attention to detail. The lashes looked so beautiful and natural like they were my own. She uses only the top quality products. She spent a lot of time with me and she wouldn't even let me tip her! Unfortunately I did have a slight allergic reaction on one eye only. Nothing compared to what I experienced in the past, but sadly I'm just not a good candidate for lashes. I used to have lashes for a year and have been to several techs, none of them were remotely close to Patty's knowledge and skill level. I wanted to wait to write my review so I could provide a full experience of my lash extensions. HISTORY: I've had eyelash extensions multiple time periods before. Once in high school, several times in college, and couple times after graduating college. I normally wear strip lashes every week so from this - you can say I'm an eyelash fanatic. I think they can exponentially emphasize your face and make you appear put together and dressed up despite the occasion. Flash forward to now, I moved to OC last year and had to find a new everything. [New eyebrow threader, nail lady, dry cleaner, etc.] I'm pretty particular since I think details are extremely important and I don't always think money value always equates to the service. I really take the time to look at reviews, talk to the person, and go to them a couple times before determining their my go-to. If this is their specialty and craft, you have to give them a fair shot. LASHURY REVIEW: That said, when I found Patty I appreciated her thoroughness, knowledge and patience. She reviewed the different eye shapes, the wear, and during + after-care instructions to ensure I was comfortable and aware of eyelash extensions. Like any process, it's super super important to trust the person with your eyelashes. There are horror stories of glue getting stuck, eye infections, etc. but Patty is extremely clean, detailed and made sure I was comfortable every time. Any question I had during and after the service, she answers thoroughly. I would even text her and would receive a prompt response. PROCESS: It takes about 2-3 hours for the first visit, refills are about an 1 long. For refills, make sure to completely clean the lashes. I bought the soap from her to keep my lashes clean, and it never bothered my eyes. FINAL THOUGHTS: She is definitely someone I can trust and continue recommending. This will be the 3rd time for my refill, and I always feel grateful that getting ready every morning is short and easy. I just got my lashes done with Patty and OMG I am so happy I did. Got referred to her by a co-worker after I complemented her lashes and Patty was able to squeeze me in last minute. Got there around 8pm and I was a little apprehensive thinking she was going to rush since it was so late. Nope, you would have thought it was 3pm in the afternoon because she took her time and make sure I was satisfied. So meticulous and after the session she gave a cute bag filled with a mirror, lash brush, instructions etc. Her bed is soooo soft and comfortable I dozed off, haha. I loved the approach, consultation and the process was such a pleasure. After the treatment I had been given full after care info. Patty is very professional and skilled and is worth every penny. These are the best lash extensions I have ever had. They look completely natural and are not clumpy and uncomfortable like some I have had in the past.
