The task was enormous - at least to me it certainly had sounded overwhelming. But Dr. G's incredible patience and thoughtfulness, and the respectful manner in which he explains everything - treating you as a partner rather than simply a patient - made me choose him over two other doctors I had been considering. And I am so happy I did! Today, after many months or our collaboration I am in a very different place: medically, aesthetically, and emotionally. What's also very important to me is that Dr. Gerskowitz looks at the patient and his/her health in a integral way, which so rare at our time of infinite specialization. He is a real master. His approach is careful and intelligent, and what they call "bedside manner" is superb: once you are in his office, you immediately feel at ease. Dr. Gerskowitz is simply the best dentist I've seen in my life and one of the very best doctors of any specialization I've encountered. I just wish I found him earlier. The staff is equally great - I use this office now for my general dental maintenance and checkups. Everyone is knowledgeable and friendly. Conveniently located in the heart of Little Falls (not far from the Willowbrook Mall), this modern facility features the latest tech and highly trained professionals to use it. The waiting room is spacious with plenty to entertain (although the waits are never long anyway) and the operatory rooms, sterile and comfy. Ample parking is available in the rear, but there is also a bus stop nearby if public transportation is more your thing. Even better than the office is the people that work for this practice. The entire staff here is warm and welcoming, from the administrators at the front desk to the assistants. Dr. Shahmehdi, who owns the practice, took the time to meet with me (even though I am not his direct patient) during one of my appointments. Dr. Sperling, the pediatric dentist, even struck up a conversation with me after one of my appointments; everyone is so friendly! Dr. Paparella, who has been my attending dentist, has been nothing short of brilliant. Before beginning any procedure--no matter how big or small--she briefly explains what she is going to be doing and why. I feel like I've learned so much about dental care and am much more at ease during procedures. She also has excellent bedside manners, always cognizant of any issues her patients have and does everything in her power to alleviate any concerns. Most importantly, she always takes her time and works meticulously. It is very clear that she takes pride in her work and cares about her patients. The assistants are just as competent and caring. Special shoutout to Nicolle, who assisted Dr. Paparella on my last visit. She was able to use the suction hose without triggering my annoyingly persistent gag reflex. They were both patient throughout my visit, even as I subconsciously started to close my mouth...repeatedly. Nicolle even dabbed my forehead with a paper towel when a drop of water splashed. These little things and attention to detail demonstrate the staff really does care about their patients. She returned my call 2 days later on Monday and could not get me in until Wednesday, January 22, 2025. I work and I am not taking off work nor going in before work to be in agony at work. She could care less. I told her that this was not a good fit, and it needs to come out and redone. She said she would take it out and leave the hole there. I told her that she either reimburses me or makes me another bridge. So needless to say I have to go back on Wednesday January 22, 2025. I called her back and told her it was very unprofessional to hang up on her patients. She tried to tell me that the 3 hang ups were dropped calls. She doesn't know how to deal with patients/myself and has no patience. She was tossing her tools around because she was angry that I was complaining that she didn't do a good job. She did not like what I had to say and was acting like a bratty child. She told me that she takes a little pouch with her toothbrush, her pics and whatever else she needs to get the food out of her teeth. I said, you do this every time you go out to dinner and she said yes. Well, I can't go through all those motions and carry a pouch with dental tools in my pocketbook. Something is wrong because the bridge is not flush against my gums. That is why food is getting jammed in there. I have three friends that have bridges and never had a problem like this. She needs to reimburse me or make another mold and not at my expense nor my insurances. She also made a cap for me, the tooth is at an angle crooked. It was never like that prior to her making that cap, she insists that that's the way it should be. I am not happy with that either. I wore braces for four years so my teeth were straight. Once she finishes or fixes what she started, I won't be going back. As I'm writing this, I am in pain and will be until Wednesday. My insurance company is aware of all of this.
