I was nervous and wasn't sure what to expect, but I've been a pretty regular customer at Sophia's shop ever since. She is so meticulous and careful in her application process. It's peaceful and comfortable and she's so nice. Her shop is always clean and pleasant to be in. There's really never other people because she's very good at scheduling all her clients with some time in between. I can't really compare her prices to others because she's the only lash esthetician that I've ever been to. But from my research, she's in line with the prices of most lash places. I got a facial here with Sophia, the owner. She was amazing and I was very impressed with the whole experience. First off, the facility is brand spanking new and very clean. There is street parking available so just be on the lookout for that once you turn on Hillard. When you walk in you're greeted by an open space and lots of wonderful essential oil smells. All part of the zen experience! There's a complete facial questionnaire, which I always appreciate. The facial will take you through cleansing, deep cleansing with the steamer, a divine facial massage, and a face mask. For a "classic facial" I felt like there were a lot of services included! I have sensitive skin and sometimes get redness or even breakouts after a facial but there was NONE of that this time. I left feeling fully moisturized and relaxed, with a literal glow on my face :) Sophia has quite a lot of aesthetician experience and is really good at what she does. She's very friendly and professional. It's convenient that you can have a one stop shop for lash extensions, facials, and even waxing! They had a FANTASTIC deal for first time customers so it's definitely worth checking out. There's also a loyalty card where you can accumulate credit with more services that you do - this is something I really haven't seen offered at facial salons. Sophia is a wonderful gem and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with her. I texted her and easily made an appointment for the next day. When I arrived, I was welcomed by a relaxing environment (fresh scents and tranquil music). As a new client, she walked me through which eyelash extensions she recommended for my eye shape - I wanted dramatic yet natural so I chose flat lash c-curl 10-13 set of 80. The entire session lasted a little over 2 hours, as she had to remove my previous lash set. She said she added 10 extra lashes on each eye as a complimentary gesture because she had to double up on some areas. She is extremely meticulous and detail-oriented, which I appreciate. All in all, I was very satisfied with how the results turned out, and they have yet to start falling out. I found out about Lash Friends via Groupon. The Groupon gives you 50% off a facial. When I got there, they were having a 50% off your first facial, so I decided to save the Groupon to refer my mom. (Ps. They also offer $10 off for each referral. I'll be taking advantage of that because I would 20 out of 10 refer my family and friends to Lash Friends!) Facials are typically expensive. But at Lash Friends, you get so much more than you're paying for - from variety to quality. They offer all sorts of facials and beauty services (e.g., lash and hair extensions, waxing, etc.). The only other facial I've ever gotten is in Korea - skincare capital of the world. It was an amazing facial, and I haven't seen any other skincare place offer the type of facial I received in Korea. Until I came across Lash Friends. Their facials are exceptional! I got the classic facial. She did a gentle cleansing and extraction. She threw in several bonus services, including a putty mask and an ice roller. My face is shining like Moses after stepping down from Mt. Sinai. Glowing, radiant and poreless. I originally went in to try one facial at a discounted rate. I loved my experience so much, I ended up purchasing a 5x package. They have a deal where you get 10% off a 5x package if you pay in cash, and 5% off if you pay with card. SO glad I found this place. (This place is not located on the main road, so it's hard to find unless you know where to look. I guess you can say it's a diamond in the rough!) I live in DC and come up for business occasionally. So here is the rundown. -You can text her for easy bookings. The number is easily available on her website. -Right now there is a grand opening deal for 50% off first service. I used the Groupon which is also available. No matter what, Sophia provides you with A+++ customer service. -I parked in the Duane Reade lot and just walked over. My appointment was almost 2 hours long and my car was still sitting there without getting towed so I think it's safe ... -This was my second time getting lash extensions, the first time was in a lash extension sweatshop (haha or what it seemed) with 5 other women lying on tables next to me. I remember it tickling a lot and being miserable lying there for so long. But your time w Sophia is one on one in a quiet, comfortable room. Calm music playing, pillow, blankets and she adjusts room temp for you. Very accommodating. -My lashes before getting the extensions were long but so weird and choppy from mascara and makeup remover abuse . Sophia had to mix in diff types of lashes to make it stick well and fill the spaces. She really went above and beyond and I'm so grateful. It looks so good it blows my mind. I bought the lash package on Groupon, and I did not have very high expectations. But I have to say, this was BY FAR the best eyelash place I have ever been to, EVER. And I've gotten a LOT of eyelash extensions in the past. I've gotten eyelashes done in NYC, in Asia, in Latin America. I've gotten cheap ones, I've gotten expensive ones, I've gotten "natural" ones, I've gotten bodacious ones... lol. Anyways, it's not a cheap place, but the quality of the service and the lashes here is one thousand percent worth the price! What's so great about this place? First, the whole experience feels like a relaxing spa experience. There's no pain, no poking, no stinging glue in your eyeballs, no holding a fan, no loud talking of workers/other customers. Instead you're just laying back, feeling cool soothing hands on your face, and that's it. I think the owner was the one who did my lashes, and she is amazing. She asked me about what I wanted beforehand (shape, number of lashes, type of lashes, etc.). I wanted long, cat eye style because of an upcoming event with lots of photo-ops. After getting set up, she looked closely at the length and directions of my eyelashes, and determined that my natural eyelashes were longest in the middle. So she asked if I would be okay with a modified cat eye instead. She was very gentle, took her time, and checked with me before doing anything, and she let me know exactly what she was doing at each step. It took more than an hour, but she didn't rush, she was just super patient and detailed and give my lashes her full concentration. The best part is that there was NO discomfort or pokey-ness after the lashes were placed. Usually even at the super pricey fancy places, there's always a little bit of an irritation feeling in my eyeballs afterwards. Nope, not at this place! Overall I am super duper satisfied. I just got them done today and have yet to see how long these last. I will update this review if my lashes all fall out tomorrow lol. But I was just so satisfied and happy at the entire experience, I just had to let other people know so that this place stays in business so that I can continue to come here!!!! I walked into this place astonished by the luxe decor. I was interested in their services because I've been yearning for a facial. I was walked by the wonderful Sophia, to a little room covered with a white curtain. The spa bed was crisp clean and warm. As I laid down, she started on the process of a 60- minute facial. Very clean and beautiful space. I arrived early and was seen immediately. The lashes looked great and lasted about a week before noticing a lot had fallen out. I'm due for my 2 week fill and I have almost no lashes left on my right eye. I'm hoping they last longer once they've been filled. Technician did not inform me that she will put some fans instead of all individual lashes & ruined my natural eye lashes because they are very thin and it was too much weight to put on them, not to mention some of the fans started weighing down and bending down the next day which looked like in a horror movie. It hurt my eye quite bad, too. When I called her on it, she said she told me (no, she did not, I would never agree to fans for my thin lashes). She said that she did it because my lashes had "gabs" she had to fill. She said that she took a picture of the gabs. I asked to text me the picture but she refused. And, no, my lashes did not have gabs (they are thin, but no gabs) & i did not see her taking pictures of it. Now i have gabs after what she did-she ruined my natural lashes. I need to use a special serum twice a day in hopes to repair them. Oh, and comes to find, she also glued a lot of lashes to my lids (found out when they were removed), glue was all over my lids. read more
