For my most recent IPL, I was re-scheduled by Laser Away with little notice four times (including a couple hours before my appointment). Do not buy any packages from Laser Away. The sales person lied to me to get me to buy a package. After my first appointment I discovered that I was lied to about the services and requested to cancel my package. I was then told that there are no refunds. So now I am out thousands of dollars. The appointment I booked was two weeks out and I NEED to cancel and they will not allow me to cancel. This was a $5,000 service that they will not allow me to cancel ~ might I add I had only scheduled it 14 hours prior! Scheduled it on October 7th and the appointment was not until October 23rd yet they won't let me cancel it and it's legit been 14 hours since I made the appointment! I made an appointment 8 weeks in advance (I live in North Dakota 7 hours away). While on my way I got a text message saying I need to reschedule. After driving so far they still could not fit me into anything for the weekend I am here, even though my appointment would have only been 30 minutes, if that. Extremely disappointed and I will not be coming back. The customer service lady had me on the phone redirecting me to another laser away even farther than I live. I have to compare as I went to permanent choice before now about 8 yrs ago all my hair came back from that, but these guys at LaserAway are awesome and I know I was treated weirdly at permanent choice now that I have been treated so good! These guys have a cooling flow of air to help us get through the laser easier! Their facilities are so nice and clean! Do not get any service packages from them as there was no clear communication from the individual I talked with about canceling my loan when it came to unexpected financial hardship. There has been such a terrible experience with how me and my fiancé were treated with this whole experience as our responses have been condescending and shameful. This loan through Lasaraway was brought to my attention that it is non refundable even when we have explained we no longer want services and that have not received services. This put us into an even deeper financial hardship and are thousands of dollars further into debt. The way that I was treated when speaking to the individual who created my loan was disingenuous about how this has affected me and my fiance only to be met with further deception of how my fiance was wanting to continue services after our financial event. My laser hair journey as a trans person has been difficult but laseraway has made it a better monthly event. Additionally, the staff learn your specific quirks and needs and remember them for each of your appointments which builds a pleasant sense of community. I just got off the phone from a LaserAway rep asking why I had not paid the invoice they sent day before yesterday. I explained that I was waiting on an unexpected auto repair estimate before paying with my credit card as I might need to use it for the more important auto repair. I had reached an agreement with a previous rep for procedures on upper lip & chin for $350 for both areas. The man informed me that there is a payment plan available for no interest on monthly payments. I was ready to sign up for that. This was NOT offered to me previously or I would have agreed immediately rather than incurring credit card interest. The guy then informed me that the promo had expired & the charge would be $999. I protested that we had agreed upon the deal nor was I informed I had to pay by a certain date due to an expiring promo. He said he was "sorry" but it is their policy. I wasn't told this nor do I see any written notice of this. I told him I was not interested in the deal at triple the price & that it was "funny" that this was happening. I said I wasn't interested in dealing w/a business that did bait & switch deals. I am not happy that I wasn't offered financing with no interest & monthly payments. Had I known that up front, I definitely would have been interested in additional services @ 70% off w/no interest financing & that the price quoted had an expiration date in 2 days. I remarked that I would leave a review alerting others to this scheme, which I still consider a "bait & switch" tactic. I do find it interesting that there are only 2 Yelp reviews in 2 years. I'll search for other reviews to see if there is any pattern in this tactic. There are lots of laser hair removal services in the Minneapolis area. I might have to wait for another offer as good as the quoted price. And the guy seemed very pleased to cancel my deal, which I thought was weird. I didn't take his tactic personally as I think he might have been following a script from the company. Evidentlly, the guy is very protective of his employer or just inappropriately bonded to the company & not the customers. Beware of doing business with this company if you experience anything like this during negotiations. Ask about the no-interest financing & ask if there's an expiration date for paying the invoice. My money spends anywhere so I'll go elsewhere as I've been thinking about doing this for a few months & am now ready. read more
