Two weeks ago, I contacted LaSalle Network to help me find a job and get out of a very crappy job situation I am in. (Still am). I was first contacted by a manager, Carly, and she was very friendly and asked if I wanted to set up an virtual interview with one of her coworkers. I agreed and we set up the time for 9:00am. I then later that day tried to call Carly asking if we could change the time to a later time, but no answer. So I emailed her. No reply. Next morning comes around, she calls me at 8:00 to confirm for our 9:00 call, and I then asked if we could change it to 10:00, so we did. She told me that 15-20 minutes before the call, I should receive an email from "Megan" so I kept checking my phone but I didn't get any email. I call Carly and tell her that I haven't heard anything yet and she said she'll contact megan but If I don't hear by 10:05 call her (Carly) again. 10:05 comes around and I finally got the email for our virtual interview.
Megan was very helpful with answering my questions and seemed to have a good understanding of what I was looking for in a job. Right before we ended our call she told she would send me more info on the job via email when she gets back to her desk. I waited a few hours for it, knowing that she was busy and dealing with other people and finding them jobs too. But a day and a half later I still hadn't received an email from Megan so I emailed her saying I was very interested in the job and if she could send the information. I heard nothing back from her.
So, yet again, I emailed Carly asking her to talk to Megan, and within an hour I got a very vague email about the job- all of which I already knew from the interview.
Now, flash forward a few days where I haven't heard anything, I suddenly get a call from LaSalle network but oh, it wasn't Megan, it was someone completely different, who must have mistaken me for a different client because she got my home base location wrong and even my recruiters name wrong too.
The next day, I got a call from them again, but this time persons name name was Hayley. We talked for a little and I told her that I'm still interested in the job offer/position and answered her questions about pay rate and hours, etc. she said that they are interested in setting up an interview for Thursday, which it was Tuesday, and she would get back to me later that day with if they have any openings, and if they did what time. I told her I worked at 1 o'clock so I needed to know before then so I can be prepared, and she said that she would contact me before then. So I continue on with my day expecting a call, and I didn't receive one. I worked my eight hour shift and I still hadn't received a call. So I figured she would call me the next day, Wednesday. But to no surprise, I didn't receive a call and when I tried to call her, I got no answer.
At work I got a call from LaSalle network again, but this time it was someone different, it wasn't Hayley. So I didn't even bother to call that person back.
Come Thursday morning, I received a call from Hayley. She apologized for the delay and said that they did not have any openings that day and if we could reschedule to next week. I said Tuesday would work best for me and she said She would get back to me as to what time the interview would be at.
Today is now Monday and I still have not heard a single thing. I tried calling Friday and I did not receive a call back, and I called today and I left a voicemail and I still have not received anything back. So, I guess my interview is not tomorrow.
I have been playing this game back-and-forth with them for almost 2 weeks now.
I'm going to call tomorrow (Tuesday) morning the agency one more time and try to reach Hayley, and if I don't hear anything back I am just going to straight up apply to the job myself, without the agency.
There is a reason why we go through agencies to find a job. I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with my life and I thought having someone else help me find a job in my interests and understandings would make it a little easier on me and take less stress off myself. This did the complete opposite. I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed.
I can tell you this, this agency is not worth the disappointment, the frustration, playing phone tag with multiple people, and the waiting around for a phone call. I would try somewhere else. Unless you are someone who is indecisive as to if you should take a certain job or not and need all the time in the world, no one should have to deal with this long wait and this many back and forth between recruiters and calls, and emails trying to contact their recruiter for a job that we are relying on.
All I can say is, good luck to you all, and I really do pray you have a better experience than I did and that you get that job you want! read more
