The funeral home is clean, the price is also affordable as to other funeral places. Funeral homes…read moreare the portals to new existence since the soul never dies, all souls are eternal. Death is a very real thing, I had made peace and love with death, it is the most natural event that we all are gonna experience and can't escape, so why fear it?... When the Angel of Death knock on our door, there is no way to escape it. Sometimes, I think about the way, when, and how I will die, just being curious, how is my life going to end?... not in a worrying way but more in a curious way. I am surely ready for death, not that I am calling it, but I just know is gonna happen at anytime because it is part of nature to die and go on spiritually. Of course, while I am here in my existence, I do enjoy and love life, with a different point of view, loving and experiencing life in an unconditionally and unattached loving way. Knowing that at any moment, I can be gone, just like that, a candle that shuts off and expires. "If a person lives just one day, 10 years, 50, 75 or whatever number it is, that person has fulfilled his/her life purpose, what it was meant to be, have, and do, on this lifetime" Death is nothing but a liberation of the worldly pleasures and worldly pains, Death is a liberation of the soul. It is absolutely better on the other side, and that I can write it with my whole heart and confidence of knowing so, that the other side is where real living takes place. "We are gonna die, and that's for sure"

Be away from this funeral Home!!! We made a pre-arrangement for funeral services for my father…read more We signed all the documents. After that, we DID NOT receive the bank statements like other funeral homes do. We went personally to the office several times. We called and sent emails to the administrator "Michelle Ortiz" several times. She did not respond or return any of my phone calls or emails. We realized that they did not deposited the money for future funeral arrangements in several moths something that is illegal. They sent us documents and statements barely legible. It looked like a personal account. We could not even read the name and the account number. We requested a transfer to another funeral home, the difference is like a night and day. RG Ortiz Funeral Home is a very SUSPECIOUS business please do not use them for any future services.

It's a free event, but a donation of $10/person would be gratefully accepted. Also; advance registration is encouraged, because they need to be sure they'll have enough materials on hand. The program will be held at the meadow near the Main Entrance (which is at Fifth Avenue/25th Street). If the weather condition is bad, a decision will be made at 8:00 a.m. on that day and a notification will be sent via Eventbrite e-mails. It feels odd writing a review for a cemetery, but I have been here a bunch of times, either as the…read moremain part of walking tours or as part of other walks, such as to Prospect Park, or otherwise at various times of the year. Side note, I am pretty sure it's free for solo people, but if you go with a large enough group, they have a $5 fee per person, which is reasonable. In general, I would recommend coming here in the fall, not just because the weather will be nicer, but also because the trees are beautiful, and winter is nice as well, due to the frozen lake, among other things. The spring is nice as well, but there are better places to see leaves in bloom, as there are more wintery shrubs here. The area is massive, and you could honestly spend many hours going to various corners. There are highlights such as a well-known view of the Statue of Liberty, many sculptures, and graves for people ranging from Samuel Morse to Boss Tweed to Leonard Bernstein to Louis Comfort Tiffany to Henry Chadwick, among others, along with many people from various wars, of course, such as the civil war with one particularly interesting grave having a confederate and union soldier next to each other for reasons. The place is particularly well-maintained compared to other cemeteries I have been to, with the entrance being striking among other things.

There was only one…read moreattendant from Caribe at the funeral so she asked some of the family members to bring the casket into the sanctuary (never seen that before, must be a Brooklyn thing). She was so rude yelling instructions at us the whole time. When we entered the sanctuary she was yelling so loud EVERYONE already seated turned around to see what all the commotion was. Sooo beyond rude, disrespectful and uncaring. When the service was concluding, the pastor was looking for her, so that they can do their part. She was nowhere to be found. So he started doing the final viewing, halfway through, she comes running up and trying to shush everybody so that she could read some random poem, by that time, no one was interested in hearing anything she had to say. While the pallbearers were moving the casket out of the sanctuary, she told the daughter of the decease to move out of the way, not excuse me but, move out of the way. Based off of these other reviews, I'm not even sure how this place is still open. Please don't send your loved ones here. You WILL BE highly disappointed.
