It was a birthday party going on when I showed up and it was a good DJ selection. The food was good as well. I had some drinks. I wish they were a little bit stronger, but they made it through. The waitress was very observant and kept coming to the table asking if we needed anything.

The menu was huge and so I was unsure what I wanted. we were there for a late lunch on a Saturday. fairly large restaurant with awesome furniture. I loved the upholstery they used. There were very few people in the restaurant. I ordered the lunch plate with a chili relleno, chicken flauta and a beef taco. the flauta was my favorite and I love rellenos.my brother in law had a garlic shrimp dish that was great. we were all super happy with the food, service was lacking, considering there it was an empty restaurant. nothing terrible, but just not very attentive, my water glass was empty. I would definitely go back and try some other things on the menu if I didn't live so far away.

Going to be honest, the food was really good!!! Service was very attentive and the chips were so good!!! I'm recommending the frozen margaritas.

Had to go back a bit to find my check in here. So I stopped at the Days Inn next door for the night. It is not connected but share a parking lot. Not too friendly at the hostess stand. I asked where the bar was n got a hand motion that there's a few THAT way. OK. Bartender seemed confused that we wanted him to put the NFC playoff game on some of the many TVs and not college gymnastics. After a few of us made it clear we would not be ordering until he figured it out, he became alot more cordial Good chips n salsa. I had kinda heard there was DJ on the weekend but didn't expect it at 8pm during my Boys playoff game. Anyway, the chicken fajitas nachos were worth every penny. The happy hour large margarita not so much. Wondered why everyone was drinking the small one. Switched to mexican beer since when I said IPA the bartender looked at me with a glazed look. The DJ switched to karaoke which drew a good crowd, and I watched my game. If I stay at that Days Inn again I would def walk across.the parking lot to come but wouldn't come out of your way. There's a casino n dog race deal if u walk the other way 20 feet across the parking lot with several restaurants to eat/drink in.

We cadre driving through on a 3500 mile trip and spending the night in town. Called to verify they have outdoor patio and we can bring a large dog and we're told absolutely! When we arrived. Hostess said she couldn't accommodate us because they had no patio staff. Admittedly, I threw a bit of a fuss and they agreed to seat us outside. Honestly, they just went above and beyond to make us happy even though we were mentally prepared for bad service, but I just cannot thank the sweet hostess and her manager for committing to serve us outside. We are soooo grateful! They couldn't have been more attentive! Water for our dog, refills on chips. Amazing margaritas, and the best Mexican I've had in a very long time. Huge portions and all was delicious! Thank you so much! The combo fajitas and tampiquena were extraordinary!

Very recommended to me by locals, it's funny thus place isn't on Yelp yet! It appears to be attached to the Days Inn, but I could be mistaken. They cant serve margaritas before noon, which is a bizarre AR law. Food is outstandingly delicious, food and drinks are massive. I promise you'll have leftovers of both. Customer service is fine, the staff is fluently bilingual, although timid enough to race to get someone even more bilingual, if they feel you didn't understand them- but don't worry, you'll understand them fine. Menu items are really creative! Pineapple fajitas here, as well as something called a volcano fajita: called so because it is served in a bread bowl, not because it's firey hot. All the menu items are clever and looked beautiful, it was a hard decision! Amazing food and drink specials 7 days a week, just make sure you come at noon or after if you want a margarita!

Seems there's some weird disconnect going on I wasn't aware of... This location is now going by Las Mexicanos instead of Los Comales. Looks like almost all new staff too, that could definitely use some Customer Service training. The menu has a 3rd name on it that seemed off as well. I was not told to come to the hostess stand to be seated, no friendly greeting when I did approach the stand. Once seated, the chip & salsa dude was quick enough in dripping them off w/out so much as a greeting. Maybe he's the silent type? Who knows? 2 Now the real wait begins.... Nothing to drink nor any sign of anyone even slowing down @ my table to take a drink order. Maybe they were fighting to see who would take my order? ‍ I was almost finished w/the basket of chips, decided what I wanted and LAID THE CLOSED MENU on the other side of the table close to the edge, hoping someone would notice. I had decided if they couldn't be bothered to come by the time I finished the chips I was leaving. Magically a waitress finally shows up w/3 chips to spare. Placed the order for water and dinner at the same time. Dinner came out quickly but looking pitiful w/barely a full tablespoon of guac, tomatoes or sour cream. Cheap bastards! The flour part of the chimichanga was NOT CRISP, & I was given plastic utensils to maneuver this sad plate. I have eaten here MANY times as I live in the area so I am more than disappointed w/this experience. Not a single customer sitting in the middle @ the 4-tops & @ least 7 booths empty; on a Saturday night @ 8:00 pm. Sad that they have lost so much business, I'll think twice before considering spending my money here again.

It was great, everything was authentic - but then Molly retired and the new owners moved the location to the hip and popular Overton Square. The restaurant turned into a bar - strong drinks with just OK food. And that was fun, if only you didn't come here to eat. Reciently the restaurant has changed hands and the new owners have turned it back into a real Mexican eatery. Now the menu is awesome, and about half of it caters to vegetarian appetites. And not wheatgrass, and Tofu... this is real Mexican food. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of pork chicken and beef. There are very large menu. And now, everything you look at it is delicious. I have been coming here since they opened and just now realized, I wanna try everything on this new menu. We had the beef chili rellinos with mole and refried beans, which I don't know how they do it but the refried beans have no pork and taste like they're loaded with bacon. She opted for a a la cart selection of black bean soup, roasted poblano pepper and cheese tamale, mushroom, cheese and spinach enchilida served with guac and pico. And as soon as our server left with our order, we immediately felt like we should have ordered this or that instead until our food arrived. TBO. Everything was totally delicious. I guess it means we just have to come back more often and try everything else on the menu. My server was amazing even though we did not order alcohol... (I had the worst feeling that since this place was really a drinking establishment for so long that they really kind of expected to grab a Margarita). The bill came with an included 20% tip, which I would always do anyway but i'm still kind of eah about telling me how to tip... politics! Wouldn't know by talking to the server, she was offering no info. I got the chimichanga and refried beans, beans were ok, the meat in the middle of the chimichanga was cold. We're not the send back the food types, we just don't come back. We'll be eating our next Mexican meal back at our favorite place on Union, it's closer to home anyway. Sunrise Memphis did not disappoint. We stopped in around 12:30 p.m. on a Wednesday and didn't experience any crowds or much of a lunch rush. That being said, after eating here, I completely understand why people mention waiting hours on weekends. The ordering process is simple: walk up to the counter, place your order, grab a number, and seat yourself. I appreciated that they offer both breakfast and lunch all day because it meant we didn't have to choose between the two. I ordered the chicken tenders with tater tots and an Arnold Palmer. Everything was fresh, hot, and exactly the kind of comfort food you crave in the middle of a long road trip. Kyler ordered the Kitchen Sink, which came with eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits, and a biscuit. He asked if he could swap the cheesy grits and biscuit for biscuits and gravy, and they ended up bringing him everything anyway! It was a massive meal, but absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also loved the fun, eclectic atmosphere. The colorful Memphis touches throughout the restaurant gave it so much personality, and there was even a bar area that made me think this would be an absolute blast for brunch with friends.
