Delicious Mexican Food! Margaritas, Birria Tacos, Queso, all fantastic! I am a regular for a reason.

Chips were stale, but salsa was a good level of heat. Taco Salad was a mess over salted and awash in melted cheese. The taco bowl was not fried and was tasted like packaging. The Enchilada Verde was adequate but not remarkable, chicken was dry but tomatillo sauce was good. Topping things off my elderly mother found the handicapped bathroom was out of service. Lots of work to be done in the kitchen and front of the house. If you want tasty, authentic Mexican food go somewhere else. read more

I wish I could give no star to this place and I really wish I would have seen the reviews before walking into this restaurant. Let's start with my husband food, he ordered lunch special chicken and shrimp fajita. Tacos were smelling stale, and tasted stale. Food was bland. We had to add salt and pepper in every dish. Even in salsa also. I ordered grilled chicken fajita quesadilla for myself.. the plate had only quesadilla and lettuce. No rice and beans. When I asked them. They said I have to play extra for my rice and beans. And to add jalapeños in your order they charged $1.49 I would not mind paying for extra. But for what. For tasteless food. The good was a disappointment. My son wanted 2 steak u r Rio Fodc was a disappointment. My son had 2 steak burritos no cheese sauce, fiesta grand burrito, one came right the other had red sauce my husband ordered a fiesta grand burrito. No red sauce. A chili rellanos.it had wrong cheese inside and a ton of sauce. My fajitas had little vegetables. My bag of chips was the bottom of them, full of tiny pieces. Not again. read more

This establishment is not worth your time or money. They will send your order out with any random stranger that says that they are Door Dash. Then they will stand you up there with smug looks on their faces while they tell you that they will refuse to make you your food. The fault was with them and they continued to treat me like a criminal. Don't go here. There are many other Mexican restaurants in this area that you could patronize that will give you what you want and for a much better price. This place doesn't deserve the two stars it has, they deserve a negative and I hate I have to give them one star. To Isaac the wannabe manager, your customer service is truly garbage and you can share that with the people that chose to employ you. Like attracts like. For the greeter, you showing a video of a woman in a busted red wig picking up an order is not the gotcha you think it is. All it shows that you and your staff is incompetent and that as long as you walk in yelling "Door Dash" you can get free food. In all of my life.... I've never been to a Mexican restaurant that only provides lettuce and sour cream with an entree meal. Yes.... You read right. No pico de gallo. No guacamole. When asked where's the pico... the server said it's an extra fee and it cost more than a dollar but less than two dollars. And the guacamole was not guacamole.... It was basically MASHED AVOCADOS! No salt. No pico. No lime. NO DRINK SPECIALS ON WEEKENDS! Cool but, my margarita tasted like Minute Maid punch with a splash of alcohol. ANNNNDDDD..... if you're a party of 3 or More.... 18% gratuity automatically applied. First off: I do not like to post negative reviews, but here it goes. We were greeted by a waiter that said he was new, so take it easy on him. Then he continued to say that he'd prefer that we wait to order our food (so he could take a break and go grab a bite to eat). We let it go. My daughter thought it was funny, and I originally thought he was kidding. Secondly, all of our food was delivered very separate, instead of all at once-so we had to wait 10 minutes to actually start eating together. Lastly (and most importantly) the food was horrible! I ordered the Tortilla Soup and a crunchy taco on the side. The taco shell was stale, and the soup (which came out after everyone else had been served) was definitely "not" okay. It was a giant bowl of steaming tomato sauce with some frozen vegetables thrown in-with (you guessed it) fried strips of tortilla. My husband ordered his steak "medium" and it was past well done. My daughter ordered a fajita taco salad, and not only was her shell burnt-she could barely find the chicken. If you want to go out for chips, salsa, queso, and margaritas- this place will probably suffice - but if you want quality food and service-look elsewhere. read more

We have rated at this restaurant many times over the past 16 months and it has always been passable. Tonight however, has been a different story. Our son wanted to take his mother and father out for dinner, his treat. Our waiter was the worst we have ever had here. When confronted about his incompetence, he merely stated that it was his second day. If you care about service, stay away from here. I have been gone for years and came back all Mexican Restaurants prices have doubled and they charged for carry out. I'm writing this review it's not that I can't afford it I'm a chef and I can make it. And a lot of their businesses have dropped black people was flocking there not anymore. There is too many options and in Jackson Mississippi and surrounding areas your chances of closing down is 70 to 30 why be greedy only reasonable business owners stay open people have money they can choose where they want to spend it. read more

What happened to this place? It was never great but at least was decent TexMex that was a relatively good value if you just wanted some cookie cutter "Mexican". It has gone downhill BAD since the last time I ate here about a year ago. Huge menu that is really a joke. Everything slapped together, thrown under the salamander with a pile of cheap cheese smothered on it and served. The waitress was nice. That was the highlight of the whole meal. Why can't somebody in the Mexican restaurant community figure out that there is a huge profit in GOOD, AUTHENTIC Mexican food?? It's incredible really and sad. Oh well. This place was a "0"! First sign that we should have left was how empty the parking lot was on a Friday night. Second sign on parties of "3" or more 18% gratuity. Third sign was no drink specials on the weekends. We had a chimichanga and something inside of it was spoiled. We asked to change it out and the manager came to the table to tell us that all of the meat was cooked together and that ours was fine and to still eat it! when they remade the food they didn't remake the entire plate of food just the chimichanga not that it was a big deal because the rice was nasty! Absolutely terrible. Right away we had terrible service. We waited almost 20 minutes to get our chips and drinks. Then when we finally got our drinks we ordered. Almost an hour later we finally got our cold food. The food tasted terrible and it had the consistency of rubber. Our food didn't even come together it took the course of 10 minutes to get everything. Our waiter kept forgetting EVERYTHING, but never wrote it down, even after we asked him to. I could understand some of these things happening while the place was busy, but this was just unacceptable. We were one of like 5 tables in there. I would rate it 0 stars if I could. Horrible. The food tasted and may have been all processed products. The guacamole tasted and had the texture like it came out of a tube. We were with a group, which is always a challenge for restaurants but this place doesn't have the starting conditions for a decent meal. Was in town for a wedding on Cinco de Mayo. Of course it was busy but we were seated after 15 min. Regular menu not available but a hand written piece of paper with only offerings for night, no description. When asked about the margaritas the waiter replied, we have no specials, only certain beer. I was trying to see what they had, not special. So I asked again to which he replied "the usual". ( i haven't been here in 4 or 5 years) I asked for a menu and he eventually obliged but stated it would get him in trouble while laughing. The fajitas for two was a massive amount that three of us shared. Not great but lots of it. Margarita was okay. Service was non-existent so we thankfully were able to get manager as she came by for our food and drinks/water. I realize it's a busy day but it's also a lucrative day. Be prepared. So it's Cinco De Mayo (Also my Birthday) and my friend and I were looking forward to food after work because Margaritas says it closes at 11 pm. We walk in at 10 pm and the (presumed manager? An older lady with long black hair and sunken in features) looks at us and just says "Yes?" So we say "Two, please!" And she just kind of rolls her eyes and answers "We're no taking anymore tables." Proceeds to shove past us and blurts: "We're CLOSED." We're both frequent customers at this establishment and, for the most part, the food and service are excellent when it's NOT her. But that was ridiculous. At least advertise your inside is closing early. I've had issues with this same lady many times before. She's purposefully skipped our table to check in on other customers and has an all-around horrible attitude. I work in the food industry and I know what it's like to close. But I also take pride in the fact that we NEVER turn guests away before the time we advertise. I don't care if you're stressed. I'm stressed too. But I want to pay for food. And you didn't deliver. One star. I'd be surprised if we even bother to go there again. The food isn't good enough to justify the way she treats customers. read more

If you like bad Mexican food this is the place. Chile rellenos we're pre-cooked with cold, hard cheese in the center. Also had the seeds inside. Removing the seeds is pretty basic for Mexican cooking. Tiny chimichanga is more suited for a kids menu. Go elsewhere. read more

I would give this place one star but the waitress was awesome! The food is horrible. I order the nachos and anything other than chips, meet and cheese added is an additional cost. Food has always been either ok, or good. Went there tonight (Thanksgiving Eve) and it was totally empty. I assumed it was due to the holiday. But as we waited for our meal, a belligerent man at the bar was talking loudly and being obscene. He was talking about male body parts and dropping F bombs left and right. I wanted to complain to the manager but my older daughter was embarrassed, so I did not say anything. As we were eating, THIS VULGAR MAN LEFT THE BAR AND WENT BEHIND THE REGISTER AND STARTED CHECKING PEOPLE OUT. HE WORKED THERE! I will NEVER go back to this place. The food was cold, our server didn't bring us silverware or the tortilla shells for our shrimp fajitas for two. We had to continually ask for simple things. An then on top of it they charged us almost $15 gratuity even though it was only me my wife and our 4 little kids. Two of which are only 1. Las Margaritas Mexican Restaurant address 1625 E. County line road Jackson, Ms . In town for a wedding so we decided to grab something to eat. Original we asked for a table for 5 due to we were waiting for a friend to join us. The worst customer service I have experienced in my life. We had to call our waiter to our table so we can place our order. We sat at the table wondering where our drinks were since we knew the food would take a moment. After waiting for so long finally our food and drinks come out together. After we finished our food and drink we ask the waiter for our ticket so we can pay. At this time our friend final showed up and decided to order. The waiter still hasn't brought the ticket. The waiter finally brings the ticket and it says 4 guest with a 15% added to it. We ask the waiter why do we have 15% added to our ticket. The waiter said because you have 5 people. We asked for the manger because we still didn't understand. The manger came over, we explained that our friend only ordered food due to it taking the waiter so long to bring the ticket. They brought out ourfriends food; it came out so fast. The Manger explains that since our friend ordered food and did not eat with us they still added the 15% to the ticket. We asked the Manger take off the fee. The Manger said he will take off the fee since we don't have money to pay and laughed while taking our friends food as well. We go pay for our food and the manger takes the payment. I let the manger know this is not good customer service. While we were getting in the car we see the police pull up and the manger outside. The manager waves at us while we leave. If you are a manager you should never conduct yourself in this manner. read more

Just left this place and my waitress pretend she can't speak English well but kept adding food to my ticket, this place has completely gone down and I hate it because this use to be my spot!!! I eat here often. The salsa is fine not chunky. The food is good and consistent. The three of us usually eat for about 30 bucks. It can be busy in the evenings. Service is fast and consistent. Nothing super outstanding, but good food affordable. read more
