I wanted to love this place so bad. It was decent but I was expecting spectacular. Please be advised that there is no parking lot, so you have to park in a parking garage across the street and enter from the main road. Thankfully it's super cheap, especially for Miami. About $6 for 2 hours. The decor and vibe is definitely a whole mood. I went on a Saturday night around 9pm and the DJ/playlist was EVERYTHING. Think Drake Summer '16 and 2000s bangers. The food was decent, kinda mid. I've been to Tatiana (the sister restaurant in NYC) and that set my expectations. At Tatiana, they took basic food items like a cosmic brownie and made it with an exceptional, unexpected twist. At Las Lap they take exceptional meals like lomo saltado and make it basic. Quite a disappointing reverse. I ordered the custom coconut water, espress yo self (espresso martini) and the pollo saltado. The coconut water came in a thoughtful water coconut with the Las Lap logo carved in it - very instagrammable and refreshing. There was a ton of coconut Water in there. It felt like I had a million sips. The espresso martini was good. They paid homage to Chef Kwame's roots and served it in a classic Greek-looking coffee cup that's notoriously served around NYC but a classy, ceramic version. I had HIGH hopes for the pollo saltado. I was expecting it to be just like the traditional Peruvian dish lomo saltado, especially based on the description. It was a bougie and overpriced chicken and rice plate. Instead of French fries they served "crispy potatoes" on the plate that were a few mini potato strings sprinkled around. Instead of stir fry they put a few pickled red onions on the plate. That was literally the most delicious thing on the plate. The chicken was a tiny bit dry, so the little gravy present on the plate was a blessing. Honestly, this somehow tasted way better a day later when I heated up my leftovers at home in the microwave and squirted the lime that came with it all over. It was a decent meal, but the customer service from the staff and ambience definitely takes the cake. It might be best to come here for drink and take some dope pictures before you head out to your real dinner spot or for a night cap after your real dinner spot.

Came here for dinner. Reservations were easy to make online. Hostess at the front was super sweet and friendly. I got a table outside in the patio which was nice and breezy. I was feeling like having a smaller dinner so I got the green caesar salad and the wagyu carpaccio. Of the two, the green caesar was my favorite. It had a nice mix of avocado and fried anchovies. The carpaccio was not bad but I could have done without the sour cream. Portions are a little pricy given the portions but not unacceptable for Miami Beach. I agree with the other reviews---service was really slow. In my opinion, it's probably because there's a 20% service charge added to all checks, so there really wasn't any incentive for great / efficient service. Thankfully, one of the managers stepped in to take my order etc to speed things up a bit. No regrets coming here, but next time I'd budget more time and try some of their other heavier dishes like their oxtail.

Last night was my first time at Las Lap in Miami, and from the moment Elaine greeted me at the host stand, I knew I was in for something special. I was seated in the bar area near the entrance which turned out to be the best decision of the night. It gave me a front-row seat to the restaurant's operations. Las Lap is a high-energy, well-oiled machine that still managed to feel intimate and incredibly warm. The staff, especially Elijah and Danielle, moved with a grace that made the busy room feel effortless. The first "wow" moment was ordering a coconut water and having a literal fresh coconut hit the table. Talk about setting a standard for freshness right out of the gate! The cocktail program is equally impressive. I moved on to a mezcal cocktail that was a masterclass in balance; the smokiness of the spirit was brightened by watermelon and lime, while a kick of ginger tied it all together. As I sipped, the service team stayed consistently thoughtful with their recommendations, ensuring every part of the meal felt curated. It's rare to find a spot where the staff is as vibrant as the decor, but the team here genuinely seems to care about the guest experience. For the main event, I started with oysters before diving into the Wagyu Tassot. As a Haitian, I have a deep, personal connection to these flavors, and I was genuinely moved by the presentation that was refined but deeply authentic. I followed Marcella's expert advice, adding the roti, and she was spot on; it was the perfect vessel for the rich, seasoned beef. The textures were flawless, capturing that familiar "home-cooked" soul while elevating it to a fine-dining level that is hard to find elsewhere in the city. I ended the night with a rum cake that I'm still thinking about today. It had this unique, velvety richness with a texture on the inside that reminded me of a classic crumb cake. Paired with the tartness of gooseberries and a cloud of whipped cream, it was a total knockout. Honestly? A 10/10 experience.

Las' Lap Miami is undeniably gorgeous. The ambiance, music, and overall setting felt like the perfect backdrop for a New Year's Eve experience, and I want to be very clear: the staff and the food were not the problem here. That said... the $195 NYE experience was rough around the edges. Our reservation was for 10:00pm, but we weren't seated until about 10:30pm. The first course--an amuse bouche (a deviled egg)--arrived at 11:20pm. From there, the rest of the courses rolled out well past midnight, which made the pacing feel more like a waiting game than a celebration. To their credit, the team was generous with champagne all night (much appreciated), but the bar staff already looked stretched thin, so ordering cocktails felt like adding to the chaos. It seemed like the restaurant may have bitten off more than it could chew for such a big night. Now for the bright spots, because there were some excellent ones: The Lobster Escovitch (not even on the regular menu) was outstanding. The Rasta Pasta Bucatini? Absolutely phenomenal! The Golden Rum Cake was a perfect finish and worth remembering. We were told there would be a reduced cost due to a missed course and the long wait times, but the final bill still came out to $480, which stung a bit given the experience. I'm honestly at a crossroads. Part of me thinks this was a case of NYE over-ambition and that Las' Lap deserves another chance on a normal night. The potential is absolutely there. As a New Yorker visiting Miami, I want to love this place and I just might try again when the pressure of a major holiday isn't in the mix. A beautiful space, great food, kind staff... just a night that needed better organization.

Las Lap is a whole experience. The decor is Afrocentric maximalism at its finest--jazzy, bold, and indulgent, with a vibe that feels intentionally luxurious without trying too hard. Jeffery was my waiter and absolutely elevated the evening. He was knowledgeable, confident, and walked me through the menu with ease, making thoughtful recommendations along the way. I started with the Saba Tea Mocktail--tart yet sweet with just enough pucker to wake up your palate. The oysters were beautifully fresh and came with sauces that brought real personality. The mignonette stood out in particular: sweet with a subtle kick that lingered just right. The beef carpaccio was sliced paper-thin and paired with crispy mushrooms that added texture and depth--simple, elegant, and perfectly executed. Chef Kwame's menu may be tiny, but it is truly mighty. Every dish celebrates the African diaspora with intention and pride, proving you don't need a long menu when every item hits. The staff was attentive throughout the night, making sure every element--from timing to presentation--felt deliberate and well thought out. Las Lap Las Lap isn't just dinner; it's storytelling on a plate.

Las'Lap is something special, and jumps to one of my top favorites in Miami. Street and garage parking nearby. Safe neighborhood. This restaurant is tucked inside a hotel with an intimate, vibey entrance and flows into the bar/restaurant. From afar you can tell it's got island vibes with its tiki like flair. The host and surrounding staff were all very friendly, well trained, and worked well together. Of particular note, our bartender/ server Claudia took amazing care of us tonight. Patiently explained the menu items, shared some favorite highlights, and was overall very sweet the entire night. The food here is rockstar status. The doubles, tuna and crispy roti tartare were great starters. The chicken stew a filling and flavorful shareable plate, with great accompanying rice. No regrets with anything ordered here. I'd easily order them all again. Whatever you do, you must make it to desert. I think only seasonal (this might be a crime.. bc it's so good), the rum cake is arguably one of the best I've had. It's made in house too, and I hope makes the permanent menu. Outstanding. Plating was nice, as well as the ambiance... nice tunes (not too loud), dimly lit. It's a smaller area but they make great use of the space they have. They have an outside seating, but that was closed tonight. I also appreciate the seats at the bar were very comfortable.. that's not my usual experience with bar seats... these were specious, comfy padding and had back and arm rests. Bathrooms are mixed use, clean and just outside the bar area. In short, Las'Lap was one of my top must tries... and it exceeded my expectations. I'd recommend and return. Hope you enjoy!

We had such a lovely time at las lap! I had heard sooo many good things, and I just had to try it out. You first walk in and you are greeted with a beautiful and spacious bar. We continued into the back patio area, it was lit up so pretty. Our server was very nice and helped us with all questions we had regarding the menu. The playlist was the best! All r&b, rap, and hip hop classics. We started with some drinks, including a mango mocktail which was delicious and refreshing. Then we had the absolute star of the show.. the oxtail cuban. The warm buttery roll, the juicy mojo oxtail bacon, and the truffle on top were all so good with the dipping sauce. I wish i could take it for lunch every day. Next up were the sticky wings. I like saucy, and these were covered! Again a great dipping sauce . Then came the lamb ribs with a side of brioche. Very good, but this is probably the dish i could stiff, it was a littleee overcooked. We had to close it out with some pistachio gelato. So smooth and tasty. I would recommend them every time for a fun and delicious dinner in miami.

As Chef Kwame has restaurants in three of my favorite places in America, I had Las Lap on my radar and chose to go there with my family for my birthday. Hello day ones of Capricorn Season (12/22)! I made it to a spot I wanted to go to for months the night before, but was a bit disappointed, so I had very high expectations for Las' Lap. Uber had us looking for a different hotel name, Las' Lap actually sits in the Daydrift. There is no exterior signage for the restaurant. The property has a spacious lobby for an art deco hotel and then you enter the restaurant. The vibe gets right immediately. I had a long weekend and knew I wanted an ice cold Belvedere dirty martini, but decided to try one of the specialty cocktails. I think it had "spice" or "heat" in the name (0/10). It had neither. The attempt at a dirty (extra dirty) martini failed as well (4/10). It's honestly the first time I've ordered a dirty and it was too dirty. I sucked it up anyway. We ordered more food than I photographed and I was quite satisfied. The plates are meant to be shared and we were a party of four. We ordered caviar service (10/10), Escovitch Crab Claws (10/10), South Beach Snapper (7/10), Big Eye Tuna (5/10), an Oxtail Cuban (10/10 without the sauce), a Caesar (7/10), Waygu Tasso (8/10), Lamb Ribs (10/10) Ice Box Cake (8/10 the topping and ice cream was divine) and mango sorbet (8/10). I saw the caviar service table on Instagram and was disappointed the table was "out of order". I don't know if it's the way the orders are placed in the system or the ways the chefs process, but several items came out at once, and we were at a small round table, so the service seemed a bit clunky. The restaurant has a great back patio and the main dining area is cool and sexy. It was a great night and we were right between main dining and the patio. Our server was okay. I will go back and I can't wait to try his other restaurants.

Best food ever!! Each dish was a delight and such incredible flavor profiles. The Waygu carpaccio was phenomenal as well as the Dorade. Honestly everything was 10/10 and the decor / ambiance was an added touch. Definitely a vibe! Service was exceptional as well. Highly recommend.

Last Lap has officially arrived in Miami, and wow everything was incredible! So flavorful with that perfect Caribbean twist. I started with the Birds Eye View cocktail. It came in a parrot shaped cup and was almost too cute to drink. For the table, we ordered the Oxtail Cuban sandwiches packed with mojo oxtail, black truffle, and wagyu beef bacon ,an absolute flavor bomb. The sticky wings were my favorite dish of the night. They weee pimento smoked with hot honey and jerk BBQ. They sounded spicy but hit the perfect balance with just the right amount of heat and sweetness. The lamb ribs were also amazing, they fell right off the bone and were glazed in jerk BBQ, paired with house pickles and brioche bread. To finish, we shared the pistachio gelato topped with a Jamaican cereal crunch on top and a drizzle of vanilla cream. Probably one of the best gelatos I've ever had. After dinner, we checked out the upstairs rooftop bar . It was super cute, with a little photo booth, comfy lounge couches, a well stocked bar, and a fun vibe with great music.

Las Lap was nothing short of fantastic! I went to dinner here with my two girlfriends as a lot of our friends had recommended it. As soon as you walk into Las Lap, the decor is full of vibrant foliage. There was a DJ to the left when we entered as well. We weren't able to sit until our full party was present. We sat outside on the patio. It was so nicely decorated with lights on the trees and the music was really great. We weren't able to stop dancing! There were many items to share on the menu, which is exactly what we did! To drink, I got the mango mocktail, which was essentially a carbonated beverage with a mango undertone. It was very refreshing! We ordered the oxtail Cuban sandwich, which is an absolute must! The meat was so well cooked and melted in my mouth! The truffle and chimichurri sauce were the perfect touch. The sandwich was cut into 4 pieces and was so easy to share. We also ordered the sticky wings, which were quite spicy but absolutely delicious! The sauce and the way the chicken was cooked was just fabulous. We also got lamb ribs, which, as explained to us by our waiter, were a little bit fattier than lamb chops. Nonetheless, the lamb ribs were awesome. For dessert, we got the pistachio gelato which was topped with Jamaican cereal. It was super creamy and delicious. Such a great dining experience!

The restaurant is located right across the street from I believe a museum. It has very cute decor and very friendly staff. They enthusiastically greeted and complimented me upon arrival and quickly got me seated. I sat on the terrace and overlooked the river. It was very soothing and comfortable. There were plenty of cooling fans I was suggested a fish disk, I forgot which fish it was but tried it because my waiter was insistent that it was a crowd favorite and he was not lying. There were various flavors mingling and the fish had a nice crispy crush and was tender and flaky inside. I can't really describe the flavor with a word besides purposeful. I started with a tartare that was so tender and delicious. I could have taken it home with me. I was very happy and pleased with my experience.

This was the restaurant in our hotel and I was very excited to try it out. The service and food was phenomenal. The chicken wings were sticky, sweet and spicy. The perfect combination. They provided hot towels afterwards, which was appreciated. The red snapper ceviche was so fresh and the plantain chips were addictive. We sat at the bar and the bartenders even offered up complimentary drinks they made while experimenting. Can't recommend this restaurant more. Side note all of the leaders at this restaurant are POC which I appreciate so much.

The Cuban burger was also fantastic -- juicy, flavorful, and big enough that you start questioning whether you should have skipped breakfast. The area around the restaurant was great too.
