Pretty authentic Mexican food. Place is not very large but is maintained well. They use Indian style serveware which is pretty neat! Standard Mexican food menu with some variations not found in most other places like chilaquiles, molletes, taquitos, sopes etc We liked everything we got. Tortilla soup-4/5- the soup was a little too thin, if not for that, it was pretty good. Chile relleno- 4/5- one bite felt luxuriously delectable. Easily one of the better versions I have had. Enchiladas- 4/5- the sauce was fire as we asked for a spicy version. Huevos rancheros-4/5- pretty standard. The beans were a bit of a letdown. Taquitos- 5/5- definitely get this, it comes with a green salsa which is amazing. Brought a friend from El Paso here who was in the hunt for authentic Mexican food, and she said they did damn good! The owner sat us immediately, and we had no difficulties or delays placing our order or receiving our food. The place is small, with only several tables, so we were fortunate to have gotten one for weekend lunch. Very simple place with cool decor, some accolades along the wall, and a movie on in Spanish on the TV above us. Overall it was a delicious meal, but sadly I am biased towards different enchilada flavors so it didn't totally hit the spot for me, but that is no fault of the restaurant. The rice and beans were a bit bland/lacking flavor. The chips were good but definitely not made in house, and my daughter enjoyed her quesadilla. The server went missing for a little bit of our meal, so there was a bit of delay towards the end in getting boxes and the check. When ordering I was asking about the specific enchilada sauces, they brought a taste of each kind to the table for me like it was normal for them to do this. I ordered the red sauce, it was the one with the most heat. And the flavor delicious. You know when something is so hot but you can't stop eating it because it's so good? Go south 4 blocks to a shopping mall and you'll find a small Mexican restaurant called La Cazuelas. It seats about 20 people. The people that run the place are very nice and accommodating. Today, I had 2 fish tacos. My wife had their tortilla soup and 1 fish tacos. The fish was very fresh. It was light and crunchy. Our bill was only $21.00. They also do a great chicken mole enchiladas. I believe the gentleman said he could only get two different kinds so he decided on chorizo and al pastor. He enjoyed both as well as the rice and beans. I did the chicken enchiladas with a red sauce. They were pretty flavorful, but I wish there was some spice to them. Unfortunately, neither salsa they had was particularly spicy, so I had to dig into my cabinet at home to kick them up a bit. I don't usually like refried beans, but didn't mind theirs and thought the rice was good. (It wasn't dry like it had been sitting around on warm all day.) Prices were reasonable as well. They have vegetarian options but no vegan. They serve unlimited chips and salsa. The place is good enough for 10 people. It's a compact place but homey. Bathroom is clean!!! He always had a smile on his face and he served wit a great attitude. The food was delicious and authentic. I asked him if the enchiladas were spicy?
