If you have children, don't even think about coming here. We waited for our table, and two other tables that arrived after we did, and didn't have any children, had their drinks served and order taken before we were even asked for drinks (which we never were). We received chips and had to ask the the person at the front for water. After 15 minutes of no interaction, we got up to leave, and they didn't even seem sorry about it. All we can venture to guess is that they do not want children here. They've lost our business permanently. read more

Best Mexican food in town! The service is wonderful. The food is excellent, consistent and portions are perfect. Great place to chill out with a delicious margarita or to have a quick lunch. Friendly, family-run local business! read more

Service is top notch. We had dinner and loved the food. Other Yelp reviews suggested the margarita "skinny" and it was good not sticky sweet. Every dish we ordered was so good, we decided to get take out for tomorrow since we will be camping. Really think this is an excellent place. read more

Wow... best Mexican food I have had in a long time, and I was in Mexico last summer. Great atmosphere, the queso with Deep fried tortillas was unique and good. My brother and I shared the chicken fajitas and it was massive and delicious. His son had the taco and he liked it enough to finish it, which irks not a common occurrence. We went on a Saturday around 5pm at the end of ski season, food was quick, and quality. The atmosphere was nice and clean including the bathrooms. Well done, will be back again next spring. read more

Las Camelinas - The fajitas for two can actually feed 3. Despite my best efforts, we could not finish it. - Mexican Near Me - Salida, Colorado

Disappointed despite prior reviews. We came here with the kids on an overnight in Salida and left disappointed by the service, food and cost. The place was pretty full but we didn't get any service for the first 15 minutes. My wife and I split the fajitas to try and save some money but didn't expect at $35 price tag...yikes! The food was subpar and not worth the high cost, seldom did we have any degree of service and nobody ever asked about the quality of the food. Sorry to say I will look elsewhere in the future. read more

I stopped here 2 years ago on my way to Crested Butte. Was just driving down the downtown streets looking for a Mexican restaurant. From a street view this looked authentic. When we went inside we said this is definitely authentic. From the front door to leaving the staff was great. Friendly, fun to banter with and efficient. But the Margaritas and food was 5 star. Anytime I am going close to Salida, I'm going to stop here. read more

Incredible Mexican food, fun atmosphere and exceptional service. The place is festively decorated and the food and service showed a high level of attention to detail. We are here on vacation and we'll be back next time we are in Salida. read more

The empty restaurant should have been a good sign that I should eat elsewhere. The food came quickly I had ordered a chili Riano and rice and beans. Everything was bland and not worth the price. I will never go back. read more

This place has multiple people waiting for food and drinks. Took 15 minutes to get a drink chips and really nasty hot sauce. 30 minutes into being there we still had not had our order taken and we got blown off by 2 servers. Horrible experience. Honestly if this place burned down nobody would miss the bad service poor attitudes of the servers and the nastiest hot sauce I ever have eaten. read more

Excellent service! Delicious hot chocolate, nachos, enchiladas, and overall great food. Love the decor and the openness of this restaurant. We have been here three times and have been happy with this place every time, had great service, and an enjoyable time. read more

We had a yummy dinner, quick and good service--all at a good price. The salsa was a bit spicy, but the chicken fajitas were great. I'm not usually a fan of rice, but theirs was good and the guacamole was very tasty. Chili con queso was extremely good. read more

Hands down the best Mexican restaurant I've been to. Food is not bland by far. Super flavorful, great staff, and love the decor.

Awesome place to eat! Mexican at its finest! If you're downtown be sure to stop by and have a margarita! Excellent!

This restaurant has great ambiance and good food. Friendly service. Great patio and margaritas. Try it

I liked this place overall. Pricey margaritas but good! Ordered the fresh lime margaritas. A bit stingy on chips. Guacamole could be fresher but the mojhalitas ( not spelled right), were sizzling and tasty. The chili relleno breading fell off but rarely find one that doesn't. read more

Outstanding Mexican food, great service, colorful restaurant, wonderful!!!! Recommend most highly!!!!

My husband and I went here for Valentine's day lunch. We had some delicious margaritas (mango with real mango and pomegranate prickly pear.) The salsa was excellent and our food (chicken chimichanga and chicken quesadilla) was great. The service was awesome as well. We will definitely be back! read more

Best Mexican food I've ever had. Not crowded at all. Great service. Small town, but if you ever come must eat Mexican food.

Authentic Mexican food. Friendly staff. Back patio is perfect for large groups. Will return.

Terrible service. When we were finally greeted and seated, we had to flag down our waiter every time (even to get our order). Then we were brought the wrong food and groups of people who came in after us were served before us. And the food was subpar. read more

Great margaritas, shrimp fajitas were excellent, very friendly and great service! A favorite for salida! We will be back.

Excellent food, excellent service! The restaurant was very clean and cute. We had the Queso with fried tortillas to start and thought it was delicious! We also had the steak fajitas for two that was great as well! Steak was tender and juicy and a generous portion and the tortillas were fresh and so good! We will definitely be back!! read more

excellent chili rellenos! excellent service! i have been back with clients and solo 5 times now! same experience!

Awesome food and awesome service!!! You walk in, and feel absolutely festive right off the bat. You can tell a lot of thought went into the ambience down to each chair and the flowers outside the door. Large plates, but good prices! And a wide selection of food! read more

Being from TX, I know Mexican food. Although not the best I had ever had, it was pretty good. Waiter was polite & attentive, restaurant appeared clean. Most importantly, the experience was such that if I'm in Salida again & in the mood for Mexican food, I am going back. read more

This is a little gem in a small town. It's impeccably clean, right down to the restrooms and has an attentive staff. Fresh chips, yummy salsa, nice, dark iced tea. The tacos al carbon were delicious! The meat was of high quality. Charry and delicious; and served with beans and yummy rice. The pico was fresh and the guacamole was seasoned just right. After a long drive from Durango on our way to Denver this was a welcome and delicious detour. read more

This place is special. Very authentic Mexican food in a charming setting. Good beers. I'm a big fan.

Another awesome restaurant in Salida. They bring out two different kinds of salsa which are both amazing. I had a combo plate and the chile relleno was one of the best I have ever had. The food was really good. Can't wait to come back here next time we are in town. read more

Food was great BUT after submitting our credit cards we were told by a server (Juan) they only accepted cash. After asking repeatedly "you are kidding, right"? he said no so I put out my last bit of cash (we were treating one of our girlfriends). We were four girlfriends staying in town for a relaxing evening. We asked a waitress for the manager/ owner and she pointed out Juan, supposedly the server and the man who had just told us to pay cash. JUAN WAS THE MANAGER / OWNER. We asked him to show us where it said "Cash Only" and he went out front and pointed to a white board and said - "oh someone must have erased it".... We accused him of lying and he just laughed at us. We asked him why he lied to us when he said he wasn't the manager/ owner either. He just laughed at us again. I also reported this to the Palace Hotel because they had referred us to the restaurant. It really soured our evening. He also told the same thing to 4 young women at the table across from us. I WILL NOT GO THERE AGAIN..... Too bad too because the food was good and the waitress, apparently his wife, was quite pleasant. She was not around when it came to paying the bill. read more

If there was a lower rating than one star, that's what we would have chosen. After we looked at the menu we had to go find the waitress to take our order. She was in the back booth doing paperwork. The hot sauce and "slaw" were nasty and when we got our order it was no better. The food was awful. The waitress never came back to see if we needed anything - more water, etc. We couldn't finish our orders - it was too bad. It took me several more minutes to find her so that we could get a check. She finally came out of the back this time and got our check. She never asked how we liked it, just set the check on the table and walked away. We travel a lot and eat out a lot and this was one of the worst experiences we have ever had. - surprised we didn't end up with food poisoning. Stomachs finally settled down after a few hours. I would NEVER return to this restaurant and I would not recommend it for anyone., read more

Horrible. Brought wrong food and the female owner claimed it was what I ordered. Despite THREE other people who were with me and heard my order. Don't go there unless you want to be accused of being stupid and a liar. read more
