I came today 7/7/2026 I bought tasteless de arequipe they where empty they hardly had any arequipe i bought 5 of them and I wasted my money and the sad thing is that I bought empanafas de carne de rez I bought 8 of them and I got mad because the empanadas only had potatoes and no meat flavor what a disappointment they are pretty much stealing people's money today because they charge alot but the food hardly has any ingredients I dont recommend this place at all. The parking lot sucks it hardly has any space for people to park I rather go to a restaurant that has spacious parking it feels like playing Janga trying to park. I can't speak on the ambiance as I've never been to this restaurant in person. I've ordered several times from here in the past couple years, and every time has been a great delivery experience. So far my mom and I have tried the beef empanadas, the salad, the side order rice, the Plato Montañero, arepa ropavieja, the lentil soup, and the huge Tamal Antioqueno. I believe this is the only Colombian restaurant I've ever tried food from, so I have nothing to compare it to so far. However, every single item we've tried has been in excellent quality - great flavors and portions for reasonable prices. Everything we have ordered so far we would get again. My favorite items from this place are the Colombian pork tamal and the rice they serve. The tamal is moist and loaded with meat and veggies. It reminds me of Puerto Rican or Dominican pasteles a little bit compared to Mexican tamales. I love them all! The delivery service has always been great thru third parties at this establishment. Haven't had any issues so far, and the orders have been accurate and wrapped well to avoid spills even with the soups. I would definitely continue to order from here and would like to try more items over time. read more

It was a cold day so I had lentil soup and a cheese roll. I got mango juice to drink and cafe con leche for dessert. The portions are very satisfying and the food is delicious. Before they expanded my Colombian friend came with me a few times and she loved it. She is usually very picky. The service was very quick and excellent. The food and coffee were delicious. Great spot for a little piece of "home". The papa rellenas is my favorite of the pastels (fast food). I have only tried the fast food and definitely look forward to sitting down and having some rice and beans. That will be the true test. The coffee was ok, it would be great if they had a full barista bar but no complaints really. Well, some brown sugar would be nice. Lol. They have a bunch of Columbian goodies behind the counter like coffee, candy and more. Servers are nice each time and its get pretty packed for a small space. Okay so, I did not complete my review from my last visit because I really wanted better service from them.....don't get me wrong....the food is really good, but service is really slow and WRONGGGGGTTTTTT..... Around 9:15PM last Friday we detoured to Las Arepas de Julia because we were curious about it, and the internet said they were open till 10PM. It took a few minutes to wash our hands and study the menu before we ordered around 9:23PM. The manager asked if we could eat on the porch outside. I adjusted my glasses, double checked my deodorant, and asked, "Doesn't this place close at 10PM?" "No..." unlike what is posted on the internet and their front glass door, "...it closes at 9:45PM." Business hours not as advertised...THAT'S A BUMMER! Their dine-in and take-out menus clearly say in English and Spanish that "Las Arepas..." come "with fried potatoes or plantain." I wanted something crunchy and greasy, so I ordered the Arepa Chicharrón y Guacamole Llanero with a side of plantain ($8.99). Survey says?.......EHHHHHHHH!!! "Sorry...only for Arepa Chicharrón, you don't get any sides." Even though they are already charging a dollar extra for the Arepa Chicharrón compared to the others, I don't get a side???!!! Policy inconsistent with the menus and stinginess...THAT'S A BUMMER! To make up for no free sides, I ordered yuca frita ($3.50). The missus ordered Arepa Pollo Desmechado with a side of plaintains (all for $7.99) and an alfajor ($1.99) to take home for dessert. When our order arrived, we were dismayed to see that her arepa came with a side of French fries. Incorrectamundo! I clarified with the cashier that she ordered plantains, not fries, and pointed out that their own menus say plantains is one of the side choices to be included with Arepa Pollo. Surprisingly, the manager stepped in to say that plantains are not really a choice and that all arepas come with French fries only. ¡Pinche! I tried to give them a way out and asked, "Was it always this way, or did you just run out of plantains today?" "No, it was always this way." Since we arrived near closing time, it would have been acceptable if they had just admitted "Yes, we simply ran out of plantains," but no,...they did not!!!! Wrong answer, señoras!!! Policy inconsistent with the menus again...THAT'S A BUMMER! BTW, the order of yuca frita, enclosed in its very own Styrofoam box, consisted of five measly pieces! That's 70¢ (=$3.50÷5) per piece, about the same price as a single fried chicken wing!!! It was crispy on the outside and starchy steamy on the inside, but my enjoyment was muted by the simmering thought that this was still a rip off. And what a waste of non-biodegradable packaging and cooking oil!!! Poor value for the money and environmentally unfriendly...THAT'S A BUMMER! I've got to admit mi español es mediocre, and that there could have been a language barrier and misunderstandings between me and the señoras. Still, I'm usually able to communicate what I need en español, especially when it relates to food! At least I tried to speak their language, but they had no one to speak to me in mine. I guess they are not really catering to customers who no hablan español. Poor customer service...¡ESO ES UN FASTIDIO! As for the food, I liked that my arepa was piled high with crispy chicharrón, but maybe it was a bit greasier and artery clogging than I bargained for. There was not enough creamy guacamole to balance out the chicharrón. Also, for the higher price of my item and for them denying me a free side, they should have compensated by piling on more guacamole. Skimping on expensive ingredients...THAT'S A BUMMER! My Arepa Chicharrón was served open faced, like a tostada, which made it harder to eat. There was not enough guacamole to glue the chicharrón pieces in place to keep them from rolling off the arepa with each bite. Poor plating technique...THAT'S A BUMMER! As for the wife's Arepa Pollo, it was kind of dry; the medium sized wad of chicken had hardly enough seasoning to make it taste any more remarkable. Did they actually marinate the chicken before placing it in the roaster or just pour criollo sauce onto boring boiled shredded chicken breast? Maybe they were relying on us to season it ourselves by slathering on the accompanying ají picante or salsa rosada? Too bad the Arepa Pollo flavors could not stand on their own. Suboptimal cooking effort...THAT'S A BUMMER! The arepas themselves were well cooked, but if Julia had just left them on the grill a bit longer, maybe they could have been tastier with more of a contrast between the toasty outside and the steamy gritty inside. After we finished eating in the rainy dark, the señoras at least readmitted us back in to use their bathroom and wash the grease off our hands. At home, we were looking forward to that overpriced $1.99 alfajor. Unfortunately, there was not enough ooey gooey dulce de leche sandwiched between the crumbly cookies, and this made the whole assembly drier than expected! What an unfortunate conclusion to punctuate this inadequate dining experience. Overall, we've had better arepas and customer service elsewhere, and THAT'S A BUMMER! read more

When You're Ready To Throw In The Towel But Instead You Get Punched In The Face By Pillowy Goodness That Gives You The Will To Go On. It's not easy being Colombian. You've got the whole airport/customs harassment thing where your passport gets inspected a lot closer, your lack of luggage is considerably more suspect [why are you hating because I know how to travel light, yo?], and the little candies you brought back for your retired dad are inspected -- and therefore no longer edible -- on the possibility they might be cocaine chewables. Then there's the necktie jokes. And the whole total strangers asking about the statistical likelihood of getting kidnapped thing. But for me, the hardest thing has been finding good arepas in the South. I have found good to very good representations of lots of other Colombians dishes and drinks, but prior to Arepas De Julia, I had not found the following: + + + mindblowing arepas de chocolo. These are the best I've ever had outside of Colombia. That's right, in Lilburn. What the what? I like them better than The Arepa Lady and Caracas in New York. I developed an aversion to arepas de chocolo in the States because they never taste right and they're always too charred and bitter. Not here. Arepas de chocolo are made of sweet corn and have gooey, stringy farmer's cheese inside of them and the char is intentional and offsets the sweetness perfectly. They also sell frozen ones so you can reheat them at home. I bought them and they were still amazingly delicious. + + + stuffed arepas, of any variety. While areas in Colombia do this, mostly in the Northern Andes and on the coast, you generally have to hit Venezuelan restaurants to encounter stuffed arepas. Standout varieties include the arepa paisa [plantains, avocado, beans, chicharron and beef] and arepa desmechada [shredded beef]. + + + Chunchurria [beef tripe]. I got it in my arepa. While it wasn't the best I've ever had and lacked a little in flavor, sometimes my cravings for deep fried intestines can ignore such shortcomings. It's a bit of a hike for me, but it's definitely worth the voyage. Cheaper than the airfare and less stressful than answering beady eyed customs officials. Solid 4 stars, rounded up to five because it even exists out here. read more

This is a great little place! The arepas are really good. I got the arepa paisa, which was very filling and tasty. I haven't had a lot of experience with Colombian food, so I didn't know what to expect with the chiccarones, but they had very good flavor. They are very crispy and also chewy. It's an interesting combination. I saw several people ordering it as their meal. I'd definitely like to try something different next time to get a better idea of the cuisine. read more

I'm not disappointed with the food, I'm disappointed with the new staff. I've been getting food from here since 2020, and their customer service has changed for the worst. Ever since they remodeled, a lot of things have changed. Just last year, I would call and make orders over the phone, and everything would go smoothly. Now, if I even try to call and make an order over the phone in English, they will hang up on me. There needs to be a balance. Not everyone who orders Hispanic food, speaks Spanish. Not everyone who orders Chinese food speaks Mandarin, etc. Every time I step into this establishment, I feel as though I'm being judged. I travel 30 minutes or more, to enjoy this food.
