Great place to come and eat Colombian food. It was great, fresh, and flavorful. The presentation elevated the experience as well. We were mesmerized by their menus. In an era of QR codes diluting the ambiance of restaurants , seeing iPads with great visuals, pricing, and even "likes" from other costumers was a very refreshing experience. They also have a great music selection from Pereida, showcased on a huge TV. Highly recommend this place! read more

So one of my best friends suggested this restaurant because I love Colombian food. So I decided to try it out since I'm a HUGE foodie and I love some good Latin food. I have to say the food was pretty good. Everything came out well. But let me tell you, the service was absolutely horrible. Our server checked on us one time in the 2 hrs we sat there. After he took our food order he just disappeared. We waited over 25-30 min for our order when other tables that were sat after us were getting there food. The server never came to check to see if we needed water, soda or drinks. We tried to get his attention but he never turned his head in the direction of our table. The ambiance was very cool though. I loved how the restaurant was set up. I'm not sure if I'll be back again because of the poor service. read more

The food was delicious. The margarita was perfectly tart and not too sweet. The people working here are very friendly. The service is a bit slow. It was hard to flag someone down to order more stuff, get a box, or even ask for the check. I would go back here to try the other stuff on the menu. Very clean looking restaurant. You get a lot of food and prices are reasonable in my opinion. read more

We love this new found place, we like the atmosphere, the service, the cool videos and of course, the delicious food, special mention to our server, Hernan, who was very attentive and friendly, making sure our experience was the best and made my birthday memorable. The red snapper was so tasty and the new sea bass and shrimp recipe was a great addition to the menu , great job guys, looking forward to the next special occasion to celebrate there, of course! read more

The set up is great. The parking is great. The inside is really nice and has a great presentation. The customer service is also good but the food is not. Wow the lack of flavor in this business. The two best things were the yuca and the spicy dipping sauce. I was really hoping the food was as delicious as the smell but for me it was lacking extremely. The chica was so bad it tasted like dirty water and I have had a lot of chica from other places. The obleas especial was far from special and tasted like a cheesy bp&j. I had high hope for this place but this was not for me read more

First time eating at this place and I enjoyed it from start to finish. Being a Colombian person my expectations were high and truly met. I ordered Sancocho and Mondongo which flavors did not disappoint. Portions were right and service was extraordinary. Fruit juices were a big compliment to my dishes. Quality of food was great as it reminded me flavors I tasted in my country. Then empanadas and buñuelos on the side were a big hit. Everything tasted like home made to me. The ambience was very pleasant with Latin music in the background and decor was on point. Finally, the bill came out in this pretty Colombian box with a "chiva" logo. Even the to-go bag had the tricolor Colombian flag in it. This definitely added some character to the whole experience. Overall, this was an authentic Colombian cuisine experience just out of the first visit. Surely, I will come back for more. read more

We haven't had amazing Colombian food like this outside of our house or Columbia. It was so tasty and suave leaving us full but without the heaviness and stomach issues we have had in many similar restaurants in California. The music was amazing, and people were friendly to share with me more of the culture of their original states. read more

I'm not from ATL, but I'm Colombian, so I was super excited to check this place out! First impressions walking in--the decorations were really nice, and the space was clean. The service was great; our server was very attentive and took great care of us. I got the jugo de mora, and it was amazing--a must-try for sure! I also tried the Mango Biche and Lychee cocktails, which were both good. My friend and I split the picada, and while we enjoyed it, it didn't blow us away. Picada is more of a street food dish, though, and I kind of wish I'd tried one of the soups instead because they looked incredible. The atmosphere was so cozy and homey. They had a stage and were playing vallenatos, which made it feel even more special. If you're Colombian, you have to visit--this place will definitely cure any homesickness you might have. Overall, a great experience! I'd definitely go back to try more dishes. read more

I wish I knew what Colombian food is supposed to taste like so to give a very accurate review of the dishes we tried. Overall nothing made me go WOW. Very plain, simple dishes which quality seemed ok. Service was also ok. They charge a fee for using a credit card (). Not our thing, won't go back. read more

We had a very troubling experience at La Ruana Colombian Restaurant. My friend accidentally left her black Chanel wallet with a white logo on the table. It had her ID and $160 in cash. The restaurant was nearly empty. When she realized and came right back, staff claimed they hadn't seen anything. She asked to see the cameras and was only shown part of the footage. Once she mentioned filing a police report, her documents miraculously showed up tossed outside -- but the cash was gone. On top of that, the tip is already included in the bill, yet they still ask for more. After reading other reviews, it's clear this is a recurring issue. Very disappointing. Staff cannot be trusted. We won't be returning. read more

A truly Colombian experience! The staff were so nice and the food was amazing. Having been in Bogatá many times and enjoyed delicious food, this restaurant made me feel like I was there!! We tried many of the appetizers and they were great! The Maduro with sour cream was delicious! The empanadas were hot and crispy. We had both the beef and chicken... Bandeja Paisa was perfect! Upgrade and get the blood sausage! Traditional juices and drinks including aguapanela! Can't wait to try the Mojarra Frita! read more

I went to La Ruana restaurant and the food is delicious. The family atmosphere with good music all the time they had the singer Carlos Vives who I adore. The waiter was great. I don't remember his name because I didn't do the review soon, but it's never too late. The empanadas were delicious, full of meat and Colombian flavor. I definitely loved this restaurant and I am going to continue going back and I almost didn't go because of a bad review but thank God I didn't listen and decided to try it for myself read more

I do not recommend La ruana !!( be aware ) ‼ I had a bad experience at La Ruana due to their lack of control over tips. When it was time to pay, the server Angie Vivas showed me a total of $89.29 I did not allow any amount of tip to be put the next day I received a notification that the amount was updated and it was $16 more then what I had paid and it said it was due to the "tips" I called the restaurant and spoke to "Manuel " there was no manager on duty so he was in charge that day I explained the situation that's the server added a tip to herself WITHOUT MY PERMISSION after I had paid and left the restaurant she had to fake my signature as well ‼ he tried to make an excuse saying it might have been because it was a "party table " when it was only 3 of us that were there I sent screenshots of the transaction that was made on June 24th and then how it changed on June 25th later on general manager contacts me which is "Monica " and tried to make ton of excuses of what could happen but yet saying it wasn't the server because she was saying it wasn't her She did it so confidently that it made me think she may have done it before. What's even more concerning is that there were no visible consequences for her actions. It's extremely irresponsible on the restaurant's part to allow this kind of behavior. It definitely affected my trust, and I wouldn't return or recommend this place. Denied to show cameras although I received a paper receipt at the restaurant when I called back they "no Longer had access to the paper receipt due to a new system " this is considered termination to the employee or even general manager for allowing this type of illegal action . ‼ read more

----- I don't recommend La ruana!!( Be careful !! ) I had a bad experience in La Ruana due to their lack of control over tips. The server ANGIE VIVAS. He put his own tip MORE than $16 without my consent. I realized when I received my bank notification the next day with the total value!! , What would have happened if I hadn't checked the previous day's transfer? ANGIE VIVAS did it with such confidence that it made me think that she could have done it before. What is even more worrying is that there were no visible consequences for their actions. I talked to the managers (Manuel and Monica) but they did not take action against the worker, implying that they allow this type of action inside the restaurant. First thing I want to say is that, the food was very good to say the least. This was the very first time we have visited this restaurant. The presentation of their plates is unique. We enjoyed the ambiance the restaurant offers to its clients , very pretty to look at and clean. Now when it came down to the service, there was much to be desired. Our waitress Ana had no personality whatsoever. When we asked what she thought about a dish and all we got was a dry answer "Rico" as well as for drinks her answer was " all of them". When did finally ordered our drinks, I being the only one that ordered a Pocker beer which by the way had never tried, she brings me an Águila light. To top it off we were almost done eating and I was still working on my Bandeja paisa while most of the food was gone from my plate, the meat was untouched and I was still working on it. She decided to just pick up plates without asking if I was done and put another plate on top on the plate I was still eating. Normally I say something like "I'm still working on it" but I was left in shock on the rudeness of that because without even asking me if I was finished? We will come back but I will make sure not to be serviced by the same person. read more

Food is super delicious. I highly recommend it. We had the Bandeja Paisa, it was well prepared and generous portions. Nice atmosphere.

Great food great atmosphere great service. Maria our server was so helpful in telling us about the dishes. Everything was so flavorful!!

I will give the food 7 out of 10. I ordered a chuleta valluna and it was thin as a paper. They don't have beans in any of their plates. Also I ordered a Strawberry margarita and was not good at all! . The service was good. read more

This was my first and last time at La Ruana, food was greasy and truly below average, price was ok but the service was just awful! Maria the waitress delivered our food right away and literally disappeared for the rest of our meal, we asked several of the other staff attending the adjacent tables for help or if they could find her, they immediately apologized and called her , but no one offered to fulfill our need (WATER). We could see Maria at the waitress station talking to some other employees. Finally after finishing our meal and waiting for over 10 minutes, she showed up, we asked for the bill and I told her the service was not what we expected, she replied "I make mistakes, indeed I did not pay attention to this table but I am human and make mistakes". We should had made a mistake on her the tip but chose not to!!!! Will NOT recommend this place to anyone. read more

Horrible customer service. Horrible lugar!! read more

The food was delicious and the service was good, however, I rate this restaurant, 2 stars because of two reasons... 1) they charge a 3.75% fee for using a credit card. Who does that in America? I've never heard of such a thing in my entire American life, a restaurant charging a fee for using a credit card. 2) for adding an 18% tip to the bill then using the total plus the tip to provide additional tip beyond what has already been billed. It's not clear that they have added the tip because when you look at the total, it asks you to add a tip by writing it in and then totaling both, as you would see it on any other restaurant bill, but not at La Ruana. I do not like shady business practices and because if it, I will not return. There are equally as good Colombian restaurants in the Atlanta metro area and I will frequent them first. So with that said, "Buyer Beware" and make sure you read the fine print on your receipt before paying your bill. At least that's what the manager said we should've done when we called to inquire about the additional fee on our bank statement. read more
