We spoke with Athena (who is great & knowledgeable to work with) and she answered so many of our questions & went over lots of options with us. When we visited again with more narrowed ideas, Athena was again very helpful. We easily scheduled a time for her to come to our home for an estimate. The appointment took around an hour. She gave us honest opinions & suggestions to help us make appropriate decisions while being mindful of a budget. She was thoughtful about different factors we wouldn't have thought of on our own. She also offered tips. We were so pleased, we put in our order. Wait time until installation was 6 weeks. We ended up having shutters, roller shades, & sheer shades installed on 11 of our windows. We hit some snaffus that required 2 installation appointments. The first was about 2 hours long & included taking our old blinds away. They also went over how each worked & gave tips. There wasn't too much for us to clean up afterwards. Unfortunately, 2 windows had incorrectly sized shutters made & 1 set of shutters didn't pass the installer's quality test. Installers explained the situation & left temporary paper shades up. It was a bit disappointing. After an additional 4 weeks, we had the second installation that took around 30 minutes. She took her time and made accurate measurements of all the windows with a laser which was reassuring, because each window needs to be measured in multiple ways to ensure proper fit. Only thing I didn't like was that she told me she would send me a link for curtain rods to look into and I followed up twice but she never responded back about them. Install: Our installer Jose was great! Super professional, wore shoe protectors, and was friendly and efficient. He didn't mind my barky dog either. He answered all my questions, used a laser leveler to make sure everything was even, and even gave me advice for future window treatments. He took down the old blinds and patched holes as well. The new blinds fit perfectly and he was a joy to work with. Price: It's expensive, but many potential issues are covered by warranty and the blinds can often be fixed if there's an issue, unlike other brands where you would need to replace the entire blind. Jose gave us adjustment tools and showed me how to use it just in case we needed them, but also said it's unlikely we would need it much. Overall: Highly recommend this company. We placed our shutter order in early April and were initially given a delivery date of 6/18, with installation scheduled for 7/7. When that date came and went, the installation was rescheduled for 8/5. Despite having a new installation date scheduled, the shutters still had not arrived. At that point, it had been approximately four months since we placed our order. Throughout the process, communication was a major issue. We consistently had to reach out ourselves for updates rather than receiving proactive communication about the delays. We also had to take time off work for scheduled installations that ultimately could not happen, which was both inconvenient and costly. Eventually, we reached a point where we no longer felt comfortable moving forward and requested a full refund of our 50% deposit. Unfortunately, after requesting the refund, our messages were no longer being answered, and we were essentially left without a resolution. Because we could not get a response or resolve the issue directly in a timely manner, we ultimately had to dispute the charge. We ended up going with another company instead and they completed our shutters in approximately three weeks. Having now gone through the process with another company, I learned firsthand that getting shutters delivered and installed does not necessarily have to take months. The second company was able to complete our project in about three weeks, and the overall experience was significantly smoother. I genuinely believe in supporting small businesses, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. I understand that delays can happen, especially with custom products, but clear communication, realistic timelines, and responsiveness when a customer has a legitimate concern are incredibly important. Based on our experience, we would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to carefully ask about current lead times, delivery expectations, communication during delays, and the refund process before placing an order.
