The woman helping in the shoe department was extremely helpful and friendly, and guided me to the appropriate pair of sandals. It's been a year so she made a positive lasting impression. This year I picked up a hat with good coverage for my son's. Along with some souvenirs, my son wanted to bring home for his friends (Truckee stickers). Besides my positive experience, the store seems to have just about everything from grills, too fishing gear amongst other things that you would carry an Ace Hardware store. Picture it, three years ago, during a really wet season even though it was May there was still a lot of snow on the ground. So my dad is driving his tank of a truck and we reach this long path of snow on the road so he decides to cut a path. Ok, no biggie, he is doing it super smart. Nice, slow and easy. We start walking back, all five of us, sun goes down, water coming down the hills from the snow, feet wet, getting cold, havent had dinner BUT STILL DRINKING BEER. 6.5 miles later in the pitch dark we arrive at camp and start a roaring fire to warm up. My dad was not a happy camper having to leave his truck out in the middle of no where over night. So first thing in the morning we drive into town with my truck and stop off at this place. This place is AWESOME! I mean not just mom and pop awesome, just down right BAD ASS! Has more things than you can ever imagine. Crazy thing is it is like organized clutter if that makes sense. The owner was super friendly and got a good chuckle out of the story even though my dad wasnt laughing. We bought three shovels and some heavy duty chains. We even mingled for a little bit in this store kind of making a mental list of future needs if we needed them. Anyway, long story not so short, we were able to dig the truck out of the snow after a couple hours of digging and we proceeded to drink MORE BEER as a little quasi celebration. Things were good again and we will never forget the little journey and store that helped us.

Drive 30 min to Home Depot and the identical piece of wood is at least 50% cheaper. Take a 6x8x12 for example. The price at Home Depot is $23/ft. The price at Truckee Lumber is $55/ft. Do not hire a contractor that uses this company. Your job cost will increase exponentially. Oh not to mention, return something? Restocking fee for small items, not lumber.
