The service center here does not pay attention to detail. I brought my boat in for a basic annual service and they managed to mess that up. They for got to check the oil filter before installing causing all the oil to drain from the engine. This error was major considering we tried turning on the boat. When we checked the engine compartment we noticed all the oil at the bottom of the engine. You can see that the oil stick has no oil. Also, when we brought the boat back they did a mediocre job cleaning up the mess leaving oiled hand prints on the upholstery. We tried contacting the owner but no call back. Go buy your boat somewhere else considering you will need to service it here if you buy it here. Not even an apology or credit for their mistake. This experience was not pleasant from the start. They act as if they don't need your business. I never had this problem at their Stockton store. The unfortunate part is that the owner was made aware of this but no response. You decide if this is the service you want after spending big money on your boat. read more

This place is straight trash and the people who work there are the lowest scum of earth I've ever met. They're the most arrogant pieces of shit I've ever met. The service team are not true mechanics and only code readers. They can't troubleshoot anything and only fix what the computer tells them to. The owner is a complete asshole and cursed me out when I told him I wouldn't do business there ever again. I bought my boat elsewhere but took it to them to repair. They said the same issue was fixed three times with each time me getting on water and it persisting. The fourth time I went back the owner gave me the phone number to Indmar and said good luck. I came here looking for a new wakeboard/binding set up. Mike was the name of the guy that helped me. He was very helpful and explained which boat did what and so on. It's been about 7 years since I bought a new wakeboard and bindings so I had a lot of questions. He took his time explaining everything. Although I didn't buy anything the couple times I came looking he has always been very helpful and friendly. I'd highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a new wakeboard or bindings or anything boating equipment. I am writing this review due to the incredible experience I had with the sales department. I have not used the service department with my new boat so I have no review for that side of the business for this transaction. I came down to Larson in July of 21 to possibly order a new Malibu Wakesetter 25LSV. I knew Lucas previous back from when he worked in the pro shop. Was extremely happy to see Larson promotes within the company. Lucas was extremely helpful and let me basically build my boat right down to the stitching on the seat. He also give me some really good insight on what NOT to do. We ended up placing the order. He kept me up to date throughout the entire process and kept sending me videos, literature etc on the boat which was very helpful. He also never completed about me adding or changing any options. When the boat showed up EARLIER than we expected I was in the middle of purchasing a new home. Lucas and Derek were extremely patient during this process as I couldn't finance the boat until I closed on my house. When it was finally time to finalize the purchase on the boat. Derek dealt with my pain in the ass credit union without any complaints. All the title finance stuff was extremely painless! They were extremely professional throughly the entire process start to finish and never complained. Even though I'm pretty sure I was one of their most high maintenance customers ever. My uncle took his boat here to get a new top put on. they replaced the fabric top, and did not pin down the frame. When he left, the top blew off on the freeway. They are saying it is his fault for not checking their work. Makes perfect sense to me if I dropped my truck off to be fixed I'd tear that motor apart to make sure the mechanic did his job right. this place will not take action for their own mistakes BEWARE BUYERS!!! read more

We had an awesome experience buying our new Mailbu 24 MXZ with Derek Koehler at the Rancho Cordova store. We came in with our kids just to browse... I had been looking at used ones online and just wanted to see what the new ones cost and get the real life feel of them. We were pleasantly surprised that Larson's prices for a new boat were not outrageous compared to ones that was a few years old. So our browsing session turned into finding our family's boat. Derek was awesome to work with. He probably spent 3 or 4 hours with us. There was no pressure at all. He's a huge boater himself, and knows the Mailbu line inside and out, and has owned or been on all the other boats out there and can speak to their strengths and weaknesses. He had a ton of great information to help us make a decision. I had decided Malibu had the perfect mix of luxury and sport and is consistently rated as the top surf wave year in and year out, so I had already decided on the brand, allowing he and I to talk candidly about what's great and not so great about Nautique, MasterCraft, Centurion, etc... Marco was awesome and helped keep our kids occupied while we talked more of the business related stuff with Derek. He even unpackaged a brand new shrink wrapped boat that he thought we'd like (wasn't going to be opened for a few days) Lucas in the pro shop was super knowledgeable and got us dialed in to surf and wakeboard. Derek met us on the water when the boat was all ready to go and spent over 2 hours with us showing us every aspect of the boat to keep us and the boat safe and having fun. We signed papers on the boat chilling on the lake listening to tunes. I couldn't have imagined a better buying experience. When you're spending that much on a boat you want quality customer service, no pushy salesmen, and no B.S. We experienced none of that at Larson. read more

Larson Marine serviced our 2006 Malibu XTI in March of 2015. The staff was friendly and helpful in scheduling and talking through the services. They worked with the nearby trailer service to help us with replacing the bearings. The work was professionally completed. When we dropped the boat off for service we provided the cover for the boat and was assured that the boat would be covered when the boat was outside. The cover was pointed out to the service manager and was he understood the cover was in the storage compartment near the engine and assured us that they would cover the boat. After the service was completed , I asked if there were detailing services available the manager confirmed there was. The quoted price of $650 is twice as high as detailing I've received in the past. I declined the detailing. When we picked up the boat after service at Larson's and the trailer work the boat was not covered. The boat was filthy and dirty. The boat was not this dirty when it was dropped off and it took me three hours to clean the boat after bringing the boat back home. The person helping us pick up the boat said he would ask the Manager to call us the next day. After two weeks of waiting for the call, I had to call Larson's to talk to the Manager. When I asked the service manager about using the cover he mentioned that it is the customer's responsibility to cover the boat. He mentioned that he could have and should have covered the boat but it didn't happen and that I did decline the servicing. He said the boat was dirty when it came in and it was as dirty when we picked it up. It is what it is. Summary - good service but dirty boat as the shop didn't take the time to put on the cover as requested (from me) and assured (by them) that they would. We'll look for another Malibu service shop in the future. Putting the cover on and off is a simple 5 minute effort and it is disappointing that the shop didn't take the effort to do this. read more

Bought a starter for my boat, they charged me $240, found it on Amazon later for $69, the solenoid positive snapped when I was finger tightening the nut on. They refused replace it, said it happens all the time. Not buying my next boat from them, or anything else. read more

Not only got a trailer flat on the way to Larsen (not their issue but we fixed it within a mile) to be told once we got there they can't service our car. Not even sorry for the mixup on their part. These guys are phenomenal! Went on a Friday, talked to Mike, looked at a boat. They happened to have one we liked in stock. No pressure, let us go home and think about it overnight. Sure enough we decided to do it! Called them first thing Saturday morning saying we wanted it and we were driving away with it Saturday afternoon! They definitely did everything they could to make us happy. Bo did amazing work detailing and applying the CF numbers on the sides. Very nice people and super easy to work with. Avoid Larson Marines at all costs!!! They are the worst. We own a 2004 Malibu Sunscape that we purchased new from the Malibu dealership in 2004. The dealership we purchased from was the only Malibu dealer in the Sacramento area at that time and is no longer in business. The Malibu service center has now been taken over by Larson Marines. We have been very happy with our boat over the years. Last summer, during our first outing, our boat over heated due to what we later found out was a faulty water pump. Not the impeller but a second water pump in the engine. We called Larson, because they were now the local Malibu service center, to make what we thought was an appointment to get our boat fixed. We took our boat in where it sat for over two weeks before they even touched it. We called to check on the status numerous times and they kept saying they would get to it soon. After two weeks of it just sitting, we went in and they said they gave service priority to people who purchased their boat from them. After making a fuss, they fixed the exhaust system and changed the impeller but did not fix what actually caused the problem. They didn't diagnose the failed water pump and we took it back out and the engine immediately over heated again. We took the boat back and Larson let the boat sit another two weeks before they would work on it despite numerous calls. In the second repair they replaced the muffler and it did not fix the problem. Now we went back in a 3rd time because they did not fix the problem and asked to speak with the owner. We got the run around and were told they would work on it right away. At that point I complained to Malibu via their website and I also called Indmar directly to ask them what they thought the issue was. In 10 minutes, the Indmar specialist diagnosed the problem as being a bad water pump. I went back to Larson and told them what I found out from Indmar and they said it wasn't the water pump. I insisted they call Indmar and discuss it with them and sure enough, they changed the water pump this time which fixed the over heating problem. Again, another 7+ days went buy before we got out boat back. Our entire summer was now gone. Larson is incompetent. Their service personnel are rude. Even though we owned a Malibu, and they were the only certified Malibu service center in Sacramento, they discriminated against us because we didn't buy our boat from them 9 years ago. Lastly they treated my wife as though she was insignificant just because she is a women. I'm in my 50s and I can truly say that Larson Marine is the worst run business I have ever dealt with in my life. Do not get your service done at Larson Marines. You will be sorry. read more

I would not recommend taking your boat to Larson marine for any maintenance or troubleshooting work. My boat was in their shop for 2 weeks with zero progress. They did not troubleshoot the issue and they couldn't find a part through their "supplier". I found the part through Mastercraft.com and told them I would sign a waiver for them to install it as is. They told me they would and then I called 3 days later and they never put the part in. I also picked up my boat and it was given to me with disconnected parts and hoses. Had most of my cushions removed and tossed throughout the boat and tubes and life vests all on the floor of the boat. At a minimum I would expect for my boat to be returned to me in either the same condition or better. BUT not worse. Very bad experience and I will never go back there. I would select zero stars if I could for all of the reasons listed above. read more

Went in to get a lanyard for an older outboard parts guys were awesome . They hadn't seen my switch before but after looking thru manuals and online they came up with the part. last one and it was a obsolete part. Had the choice of upgrading the switch or just buying the lanyard opted for the lanyard. They even discounted it since they had it so long.May be going to buy another new boat soon as we have some new grandkids. Larson will be my first stop. read more

Great experience at Larson marine. We purchased a boat from them in January and couldn't be happier with their customer service. We were dreading having the usual experience with salesmen and having to go back and forth with offers etc. but this was nothing like we thought it would be. The salesman, Derek was so low key and not pushy at all. He was pleasant, rspectful and most of all honest with us about the product. He was very knowledgeable about the boat and offered suggestions to us about different accessories we were thinking about. Since we have had the boat there have been a few minor issues to take of and Larson has taken care of them quickly. Let me start by saying anyone dealing with customer service should take a note out of Larson Marine's book. We happened to stop by Larson Marine in search of a Mastercraft and stumbled across a MB Sports. The staff was extremely knowledge and didn't have the typical "salesmen" mentality. Rather, they let their vast amount of knowledge on the boat sell itself. With every large purchase, there typically is a hiccup or two. Derek, Mike, and Craig went over and above to ensure the process of buying a boat was enjoyable, hiccups were resolved, and we were satisfied with the boat. Mike helped us get everything we could possibly need to have fun on the water and to ensure the boat remains in excellent condition. They even delivered our boat 120 miles from their showroom. I could go on and on giving examples of their excellent customer service but I'll leave it at that. If you are in the market to buy a boat, visit Larson Marine. My family's experience buying a boat was incredible at Larson Marine. From our first meeting with Mike through every phone call and visit, everyone we met at Larson Marine was professional and extremely helpful. It was enjoyable to speak with Mike during the sale, he was so honest and low pressure, it was like working with a friend. During the test drive you just kept providing valuable information as we tested out the boat. We did not want to get off the water and Mike was patient and helpful the whole time. Mike was so cautious with the whole process, even more than we are with the boat. During the sale we did not even need to discuss the cost. It was an incredible price, you even said that you price them fair so they move. Some dealers say that but you actually do. After we bought the boat you kept it in storage for another month while we had a few added features installed. When we came to pick up the boat your service manager and finance manager walked us through the whole deal and then some. Thank again for everything. We look forward to many hours on the water. Do NOT take your boat to this dealer for service!! They worked on my boat and after they worked on it I kept getting a low oil pressure alarm. I took it back and they charged me again to change the oil sending unit, and yes you guessed it they did NOT change anything! This was the worst experience selling a boat and, for that matter, selling ANYTHING I've owned worth more than $20k. No follow-up, poor communication, apathetic responses after acknowledging they messed up. Gave possession of my boat several days BEFORE I received payment. Made an appointment with me, had me drive 40 mins to accept the check. Showed up for the appointment on time, waited 45 mins, no check. After finding out they could ACH funds to me, I left and waited and waited for funds to be transferred. Too bad they didn't tell me they could save me the better part of the morning by having me close remotely. Terrible sales and service. Absolutely terrible. read more

Where do I start? I have been to Larson's in the past and had nothing but issues with them, their work, and customer service. I have to start by saying that I have been charged for services that they did not perform. They did however replace the prop shaft on my boat, but used the wrong length. Now that my boat has too short of a shaft , the prop has worn into the strut and caused even more issues! All was discovered when getting an upgraded prop. at a "real" shop! read more

I brought my boat to their shop and not only was it not fixed when I picked it up, the part that they made me wait for (told me it was on back order) was never installed. When I brought my boat back for the same issue they charged me again for the same part and service. I talked to the owner and he said the first visit was listed as a repair not replacement.... When I asked about the "ordered part" he said it was never installed and that was why I had to pay again on this visit!!!! The only thing I could think of doing besides knocking the guy out was to warn other boat owners about how they do repairs... just because we own a boat and don't do our own repairs does not mean we are clueless! read more

These folks are great, without caveat!! I live in Tahoe and stopped by last fall to start the research process on a new boat. I spent some time with Mike and he was super-helpful and not pushy. When I was serious this spring, I contacted him again and moved forward with an Axis A22. Again, he, along with Derek, were super-helpful. While I kept waiting for the surprise cost, change in delivery schedule, issue, missing option, etc., it never came. They also took my wife and I out on the lake to show us all of the features and how everything worked. It wasn't rushed at all. I have had a few questions since I have brought the boat home and they have been there to help and answer and help with all of them. In a day and age when customer service seems to be a lost art, Larson has not forgotten. The experience was great. If you are interested in looking into or buying a boat, I would highly recommend Larson! This is a real review and not a plug by a friend of the staff at Larson. read more
