Absolutely the worst service and the staff are complete liars. Not only did they screw up our paperwork with our bank by putting the incorrect VIN# of the boat trailer (twice) but most recently we took our new boat in for its 20 hour service, due bill and warranty items to get fixed. They had our boat for 1-1/2 months with absolutely zero communication from them and then lied about fixing our warranty issues. At this point I'm not even sure they completed the 20hr. Service that we paid for. Our warranty issues weren't minor, we lost all steering on our 24' pontoon boat out in the middle of the lake due to their original install being improper. Then had the audacity to lie and say they fixed it knowing full well they didn't and putting our family in danger once we launched in the water. I would never recommend anyone to do business with Auburn Outboard Marine. read more

That's odd, Only 5 or 1 star reviews??? I'd suggest shopping around a bit and have your questions answered before you purchase. Do not take their word on anything verify everything yourself before settling on a price!!' Apparently, they have lots of boats and lots of confusion which leads too a feeling of being up charged after we already negotiated a price. Sometimes that happens I get it, However, their service department is absolutely pathetic. The vibe you feel is. Yes we gave you the vibe of being overcharged based on mis-leading statements, and now we want you to go away. Pretty much had to reinstall my trolling motor myself after being charged $800! Read the five star reviews with a grain of salt and eyes wide open. read more

My wife and I bought a new Alumacraft Competitor Shadow Series from them in 2020. Jeff our salesman delivered great service and spent the time answering all our questions making sure we'd be happy with our purchase. He told us the boat would be a "fish catching machine", which it definitely is! We also highly recommend their service department. We drive up from the Bay Area for servicing because of the quality of work. We definitely recommend Alumacraft boats and the Auburn Outboard Marine! read more

I want to love and support this place but they make it difficult. It started in December of 2022 when I was shopping for a brand new boat. I was interesting in looking at an RH but I couldn't get a call back. Instead shops in. Washington were the only RH dealers to call me back. I ended up buying a 2023 boulton. Then fast forward to middle of 2023 and I needed my Honda motors serviced. First they were over a month out due appointments and then said I had to drop it off for at least a week, and they'll get to it when they are free. I called Bucks Outboards and they laughed. I brought it in the following week and had it back same day. Fast forward again to July 13th of 2024. I called about a new prop for my Honda kicker. I provided the size and pitch needed as well as exact motor. I was told they had it, so I took the 25 minute drive there. Once there I found out it was the wrong prop. He then looked up the correct one and said he could order and it would take 3-4 days unless in backorder. However he "going to lunch" so he wanted my info and would order it later that day. I asked for a call when it was ordered and he (the owner I'm assuming) said ok. Well it's now July 22nd and I never got a call back. So once again, I called bucks outboards to order the prop. I've heard a few other horror stories from people trying to get service done as well. It's sad, small businesses like this need our support but they just don't want it. Bob is simply out of the loop it appears. I've given this place almost a half dozen chances plus almost 60plus k in cash for a boat. I feel this is an ample amount of opportunities to determine this place had bad service all around. If you need anything serviced on a honda, just use bucks. If you need something installed local, use bucks, Boat MD or better yet take it to Doug Philpott read more

We just bought a new Raider 210 explorer from Auburn Outboard Marine as they are the only dealer selling Raider products. Jeff was our sales rep who showed us the boat. He is friendly courteous, and very polite. When we purchased the boat, he threw in a free bbq, mount and life jacket for my little girl to sweeten the deal. All im waiting for now is my 9.9 honda kicker to be installed. I hope my future visit will be the same as the day i bought my boat because they did made us feel like family. Angela (financing dept) was a great person, very kind, and made sure we were taking care of every step of the way. Hopefully our visit will be as pleasant as the first time because they did make a great first impression (unlike boat country in rippon ca.) read more

I just wanted to say that I had the best experience with Auburn Outboard Marine! Mike, the owner is very upstanding and detailed person... Mike and I started working on building the right kind of boat for me back in March. He worked with me daily on the exact layout and design of the boat I was ordering and on the Day of delivery, Mike even threw in some extra stuff with my boat. What an incredible experience and Mike continues to accommodate whenever possible. He returns my phone calls when I have a question about boat operation and all other aspects. I am extremely happy with my purchase and I'm sure it will bring years of enjoyment. Thank you Mike and all the employees at Auburn Outboard Marine for making my experience such a great one! Auburn Outboard Marine - First day on the river in my new boat that I purchased from Auburn Outboard Marine. Thanks Mike - Boat Repair Near Me - Loomis, California

I have a Honda 250 with low hours that was having some issues. I took it to one dealer between Davis and the Bay Area because they said they could it in right away. They got it in, but it say for 3 weeks before anyone looked at it. I was then told they had nothing for me, just try different things. $1000. Then I took it to another outboard shop and was told a lot of things that did not work. Suggested to buy a ton of stuff at ridiculous mark ups I didn't need. $2500. Finally, I was able to come to my senses and call auburn outboard. They got me in the next day they were open. Bobby gave me some great suggestions and with a couple of hours he had more information than anyone else, he went above and beyond to help me out. I am truly thankful. If you have a Honda, don't mess around, just take it auburn outboard. The fishing shop is awesome too, Bob has some great local gear you can't find elsewhere read more

My husband and I checked out many boat places and we were not to crazy about the customer service at a few places we went . When we walked into Auburn outdoor marine we walked around looking at boats. We were greeted by Bill he asked if he could help us with anything. We told him what we were wanting and he let us know he had some boats we might like in the back. We walked to the back and looked at lots of boats and asked him so many questions pretty much anything and everything about pontoon boats. He answered them all and wasnt in a rush at all. We met the owner mike and he was a pleasure to work with also! All the staff is very sweet and awesome to work with. We got to bring our boat home today and we are 100% happy we went through Auburn Outdoor Marine. If u go through them you wont regret a thing. read more

Ordered parts in Nov. 2020, call every month for an update. Consistently told "another two weeks". This time I called to ask and was placed on hold for eighteen minutes. Called from another phone and it was picked right up........ I have left messages and have NEVER received a call back. I purchased a new outboard motor from Auburn Marine and had them remove the old motor, install the new one and install the new control and cables. Afterward, I went to them for regular service. Now, after moving about 2-hours away, I'm experiencing a minor problem with my motor (alarm whistle) and contacted them about the issue. The gentleman I spoke with (Chris), told me he'd speak with the service tech and call me right back. After not hearing from him, I called again the following day and was told that the tech needed info on the motor, after providing the information, I was told I'd get a call back. The third day I called again and spoke with Chris who told me the tech was again "out to lunch" and when he got back, in about ,15 minutes, Chris said he'd call me right back. Later in the afternoon I found a voice message from Chris telling me that they couldn't provide me with the info regarding my motor problem due to liability!!! Reading between the lines, we won't tell you what the problem is but if you bring it in and pay our ($120.00) per hour service rate, we may be able to fix it. Never mind that you purchased the motor from bus, nevermind you've been a good and faithful customer, nevermind you came to us first, nevermind that there's numerous other boat repair and service businesses in our area. You'd of thought I was asking for a free heart transplant! A simple call to another boat service and repair business the tech told me what the minor problem was and even offered to let me speak with his service manager if I had any further questions, NOW...who do you think I'm going take my boat to for service and repair? Liability INDEED! Just wait till the next time I'm asked about boat service and boating info! read more

I bought my Fisher Sport Avenger fishing boat from Mike (owner) at Auburn Outboard in 2002 and after 15 years the boat trailer needed to be replaced. I returned to Auburn Outboard and spoke to Mike. He ordered a EZ loader trailer which was a perfect fit for the boat. Also, I needed a swing away tongue to allow boat and trailer to fix inside my garage. After only 2 weeks Steve had the new trailer and boat ready for me to pick up. I got great service and a great value. Steve stored my boat inside the shop!! Lied to when I walked through the door. Was told one hour labor to diagnose the problem with my 50 HP Honda outboard. Two weeks later was told motor had broken piston sleeve, then told the coil was bad, then told motor had no compression. They said I needed a new motor, they quoted me $10,000, but they didn't have one, motors were backordered, they charged me $500 labor. Went to another Honda dealer and bought a new motor for $7,100 out the door. Asked them to check out my old motors compression, they told me it was fine the only problem with it was bad fuel had fouled the carburetor. They offered to buy it from me. When back to Auburn Outboard Marine to talk to the owner, owner wasn't in, told them I had a complaint and left my number for the owner to call me, no call. read more

I want to thank Mike and Bill for selling me my boat. I absolutely love it and have used it 30 times since the middle of December in 2019. The service department has been wonderful and very responsive. The tackle selection is getting bigger and better each week. Their prices are better than Bass Pro and Sportsman's. Bob in the service and parts department carry's all of the hottest tackle. Tons of Paulina Peak, the best selection of speedy shiners anywhere, Mack's, Brad's Cut Plug, and rods and reels. Auburn Outboard Marine is truly family owned and operated. They have earned my business and I would recommend them for boat purchases, service, repairs, accessories and tackle. read more

Could write a novel on how poorly I was treated and how awful the service department is run. The don't provide accurate estimates, don't return phone calls, update when delays occur, loose parts and break them as well. Quite possibly the worst part is the lack of acknowledgement when they're clearly in the wrong. 3 months for a carb rebuild, lost my fuel line and broke my fuel tank. They did replace the tank with a used one and replaced the line as well but honestly they didn't have much of a choice they had lost it. But never once apologized for not responding to messages or not calling back as they said. When the time for a new boat or outboard comes the last place I'll be seen it here. read more

This is the worst marine service center in the area. The service department left my boat out in the pouring rain for almost two weeks because they went on vacation. After picking up and bringing my boat home, every compartment was filled with water. Not to mention, they used a forklift to move it and picked it up so strangely that all my downrigger weights were slammed up against what I had in the storage compartment so hard it busted both lights I had in there. When I complained they offered to replace the two lights but I was told not to ever come back. Talk about great customer service....it's hard finding good marine service locations. Now, I understand why. Don't use Auburn Marine if you care anything about your boat and service. I am a local resident who tries to use local businesses. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BOAT HERE..... read more

I purchased an Alumacraft boat last week and had a great experience. I went there several times while researching which model was best for the family. I looked at several models and Mike was kind to provide quotes and options and keep answering all of my questions over the course of a couple of months. Maria helped find me a good rate for my loan and the paperwork process was quick and easy. I even got to hook up with Dale, the technician that rigged my boat up and he walked my son and I through the boat. He showed us everything he installed and how to operate it all. He explained the break in period for the engine and answered tons of questions. We took the boat out the next day and everything worked great! read more

Good people, good products, and good service. We purchased a boat several months back from Mike. We traveled 150 miles to Auburn Outboard Marine because of the poor customer service my wife and I received when shopping for a boat at the Premier and Bennington dealerships in Redding, CA. I've had a bad experience with this dealer and because of it, would not recommend them at any level. Full disclosure. I am 73, overweight, and not strong and lively any more, not quite disabled, but close. I had absolutely no experience owning a motor driven vessel and was totally ignorant as to what I was engaging in at the time of purchase. However I had a desire to learn to fish in my declining years so decided a small pontoon boat might fit my needs. I elected to purchased a little 15' Quest pontoon boat in the fall of 2017 from this dealer. I did it via phone calls and emails because I live in a different state and they were the closest dealer. I told them that I just wanted a simple unadorned basic vessel with four fishing seats and no upholstered furniture. I picked it up in October and stored it for the winter. I did not use it until spring of 2018. What I then experienced, were three major problems. First the seats they installed were in ridiculous positions and the two front ones are actually unusable by adults, because there is simply no flotation capabilities under where they were installed which causes the boat to sink in the front end such that when under way it takes on water onto the deck. Additionally they are so close to the wall that there is no leg room for the occupant. So they have been removed. The rear seats are too close to the wall as well and cannot be swiveled if the Bimini top is deployed because the back of the chairs hits the upright support tubes, so they are useless as well. They have been removed. All of the chairs had labels on the pedestals stating that they were unsafe to occupy over trolling speeds, while the boat is capable of 10-13 mph. My solution is to just use camping chairs that can be placed at optimum positions for balance and comfort. Not a big deal but I paid $$ for chairs that are in storage in the barn. I think the dealer should have discussed this with me a bit before making the installations. Secondly and much worse I have been experiencing extremely challenging launch and retrieve situations. I have been to four different paved public launch ramps. The boat is so high on the trailer that, in every case, I had to have my vehicles front wheels in the water, with exhaust pipes and rear brakes actually under water to get it to float off. So I'm stepping out of, and back into my vehicle, with my feet in 6-8 inches of water. It is similarly difficult to retrieve. I had to wade hip deep to attach the little boat to the winch strap to reel it up. My observations at those launch ramps revealed that no other vessels seemed to present these challenges for the owners. Finally, because I can no longer negotiate a step ladder safely, I had to build a set of stairs, similar to what they had in their showroom, in order to get onto the boat, for whatever reason while it is on the trailer at home. So stupid seat placement problem solved, I did a bit of research and found that there are trailers with steps on the winch stand and smaller tires that do not present such launch/retrieve challenges. I recently contacted this dealer, (didn't mention the stupid seats, why bother?), and described my more serious trailer related problems, and asked if I could get a different trailer for it. They told me that that was "the normal trailer that those boats always came with, nothing else would work better", but, if I wanted to, I could pay a machine shop to extend the tongue and if that was not sufficient they would sell me some smaller wheels and tires and I could pay someone to put the axle on top of, as apposed to under, the springs. I then asked if I could buy a different winch stand, with stairs from them, and they said, "sure they would find out how much it cost and call me back and let me know". Well they havent't done that, so far, at this point in time. So, I spent $350 dollars to get the tongue extended. I spent a similar amount for a new winch stand with stairs, that I found on line, and was able to replace the original one myself. Those two steps made the launch/retrieve situation about 75% better, but I think I am going to go ahead and switch the wheels/tires and have the axle relocated. I will not purchase the tires from this dealer. It is going to cost me $750 for three tires and wheels and whatever labor to switch the axle, but I do think at that point I will be quite happy with the rig. When I picked up the boat, I knew that I needed/wanted additional accessories and had brought cash to make the purchases. After I presented the check for the full purchase price of the boat, the salesman turned me over to a tech to give me a tutorial on the motor. After that, he went into his office and seemed not interested in having any further conversations with me on any subject. I eventually spent another 5K on accessories from other stores that they could have had. Newbie boat buyer beware of this store! read more

I have tried on numerous occasions to purchase a Gregor CH-51 from Auburn Outboard Marine. They have decided to keep their heads firmly planted out of the daylight and are refusing my money. As opposed to ordering me a boat they continue to try to switch me to something that is on their lot. Sales manager tells me "I've got the perfect boat for a guy like you." Really buddy? We have never met so how would you know a friggin thing about a guy like me. I live in Sacramento and would be more than willing to drive a bit to get a boat. I have been waiting on Auburn Outboard Marine to call me back. I have gone into their dealership (with cash in my pocket) and called numerous times. I have contacted the factory and they told me to let the shop have it a bit and so I called them back and blew back their hair. Again, slimy sales tactics to sell me what is on the lot versus ordering what I want and then a complete failure to follow through with any of their promises. If the sales team behaves in this way I can only imagine how bad their service would be. I can not express enough how displeased that I am with Auburn Outboard Marine. I will never buy a stick of gum from them let alone a boat. This has been such a hassle.
