Olives, mini cucumber with a spot on it and chunks of onions

Haven't been here in a few years but this place definitely fell off . Ordered a Kobe steak which is suppose to be a special sandwich Kobe Bryant use to order. It wasn't as good as the last one I brought years back . Got a green salad which looked thrown together, nothing was chopped up! I agree with the other comment, someone else own's this establishment and needs to turn it back over to the original owner quick !

They proudly display that they've been in business since 1956. I would like to know if the founder of Larry's or if any of his relatives are still actively involved with this business. Based on my experience there today, I doubt he is, and I think any of the original Larry's influences have been long gone. Service 2 stars: The customer service is almost non-existent. All the employees I interacted with and that I saw working looked miserable. The employee at the grille reminded me of a New Jersey gas attended because he had his Bluetooth in and was more concerned with his phone call than he was with doing his job. The place wasn't busy, and I waited longer for my order than I normally wait for a cheesesteak at Tony Lukes on a busy day. Food 2 stars: I think this location stays in business strictly based off it's excellent location across the street from the St. Joe's University Basketball Arena. We had 1 cheesesteak with extra American cheese and 1 cheesesteak with American cheese, fried onions, and hot peppers. Neither steak was impressive. Both lacked flavor, and in my opinion, this was the worst cheesesteak I've ever had inside Philadelphia City Limits. The meat was low quality, the roll was soggy, the hot peppers were not fresh, and the fried onions didn't add any flavor. Exterior/Interior 4 stars: It's sad because the place has the look of an establishment that had once been owned by people who took pride in their namesake and the products they sell. The outside was attractive. You can see the grille man at work from the window out front, reminded me of Jim's Steaks on South Street. The inside had nostalgic photos and old signs from the past. One old sign boosted that Larry's had won "best Hoagie Philadelphia/NY competition." From what I experience, that is unfortunately ancient history. Today was my first experience here, and it will be my last. Whomever owns this location should be respectful to the original Larry and sell this place to someone who cares about customer service, food quality, and the history of the establishment. If you decide to try it out, make a post, I'd like to read your opinion.

Kobe! My husband wanted to come here because of Kobe and cheesesteak. The food was good and the steak was soft. A little messy. Make sure you know what you want because they are not about waiting for you to order. We also got the chicken wings and it was not one of the better ones I've had. If you want to just be a fan of Kobe and visit his corner, it wasn't a bad place for a cheesesteak.

Philly cheese steak was delicious. Big and bread was fresh and meat was cooked perfectly. Better than any cheese steak in Chicago. The only issue is seating

My boyfriend and I did a quick stop here to grab Cheesesteaks before leaving Philly. It was an absolutely satisfying stop. The bread was very soft and the perfect texture to soak up all the cheese wiz but not making it soggy. The meat is cooked perfectly, containing its juicy texture and not overcooked. Made sure to add the must have cheese wiz to it and hot peppers to kick it up a notch. Very nice and easy stop and lovely way to end our short visit in Philly.

A few things tonight. I'm going to show you photos of my food delivered on the ground. I contacted the owner who was extremely rude with me, he says yes, Dr. Williams I remember you, you order for me a lot. But I can't do anything for you? I'm very busy, so I have to hang up now. Is that how you handle business for my returning customers? Absolutely NOT. I do not recommend this business to anyone. And by the way, the pizza and my cheesesteak was cold. if I could rate them a zero, I would do so.

It had been about 10 years since I set foot in here. I was here for a St Joe's game, and I wanted to see if my previous take was still correct. Yeah they haven't changed much. Well they changed in one aspect. The place is pretty much a Kobe Bryant shrine now compared to last time I saw it. Look, I loved Kobe too. And we all know Kobe loved them. And putting up pictures by his booth was a great touch. The three tv screens behind the counter constantly playing the news report from the last time he came there... a little much. Laying it on thick. They're definitely marketing off his name. And now the problem is, as much as I loved Kobe, I have to question the Mamba's taste in cheesesteaks. They're not bad. But for $11 for the regular they're not worthy of Philly prices. This is a basic suburban cheesesteak at best. My thing was that they used to keep a pile of meat on the grill and dole it out per order. That seems to dry it out. This visit, they did the same style but it wasn't a big pile. And it was mildly busy so it was turning over faster. So it wasn't that bad as far as dryness this time around. But the meat did manage to be a little overdone and a little on the greasy side. The Liscio's roll was disappointingly too soft and not as crusty, which surprised me a little. I'd eat it if it came from a Delco steak shop for $7. But for Philly prices and the Mamba mentality combined, this sandwich was more worthy of the New York Knicks: Coasting on their history and falling disappointingly short every time while being severely overpriced.

Larry's steaks rarely if ever disappoints overall i'd give this cheesesteak a 3 outta 5 stars ,good portion of food for the price around $15 ,fresh tasty ingredients, friendly welcoming staff, clean booth seating w tvs for dine in, stays open late which is a huge plus.

This was a pretty good cheesesteak. The belly filler is a good option for 2-3 people to split. There's plenty of seating inside and outside.

We ordered two Philly cheesesteak and one chicken cheesesteak. We were asked if we wanted "fried onions" and well it the same as grilled onions and not like an onion ring, just FYI. The chicken did not have much flavor but adding the peppers they give you it adds some and my mom enjoyed it. The cheesesteak was good too but also the steak was a bit flavorless. The sandwich is big and you need to ask to be cut in half, they just give it to you whole. It gets busy and they only accept cash. They do have an ATM machine on site if needed. Parking is on the street and not bathroom that I saw. This would be a place I come back but I'll bring some salt and pepper with me.

The service was terrible. We waited 40 minutes before inquiring. 1 worker said everybody was waiting as long. He could not expedite. But I did see people with a higher order number get served their complete meal before we did. At some point we got fries. We waited 15 minutes. My friend got his sandwich after we nearly finished the fries. Another 10 minutes & I got my classic cheesesteak, because it took more effort to make. For ~$28/person, we shouldn't wait an hour for staggered food. The staff were hard working & pleasant, just overwhelmed. The cheesesteaks were fantastic. But the fries were REALLY over salted. Shay's could be a 4, even a 5 if they fixed the service. I really loved the sandwiches. Lots of meat, perfect cheese melt, nice chunky onions, peppers, & great bread. I'm a fan. Fix the service & don't over salt the fries. You got something good here, take it the rest of the way.

I was in…read moreChester for a football game, but made some time to stop by both of the city's famous Cheesesteak stands. The Original Pat's King of Steaks is located in South Philly, specifically in the Passyunk Square neighborhood. It sits at the intersection of East Passyunk, South 9th, and Wharton. The building has many different signs and lights that will let you know that you are in the correct place. Since this is in the city, parking can be somewhat tricky. There are times I have had to circle around, or get whomever I was with to drop me off and have them come back. However, sometimes I have secured street parking not too far away. This will just depend on the time of day, and really the luck of the draw, if you are able to easily locate parking. This is an outdoor stand, meaning there is no inside to enter. You will order at the counter, and food is packaged to-go. However, there are some tables surrounding the building that you can dine at. They are all under the roof overhang, so you will be somewhat protected from the elements. On this day, it was not terribly busy. I really did not have to wait in any kind of line before being able to place my order. This was around 4:00 on a Saturday in September. First, I took some time to look over the menu posted near the sidewalk. There is also a helpful guide on "how to order a steak," for those that are unfamiliar. When it was my first time here, I actually found the humorous display very helpful. I placed my order for two classic Cheesesteak Wit, made with Cheez Whiz. When ordering, you specify if you want Wit (with onion) or Wit-Out (no onion). Given that I was wanting to try the most authentic sandwich I could, I opted for the onions and the traditional Cheez Whiz. My sandwiches only took a minute or so to be ready. As stated, it was not busy, and they are able to whip up these sandwiches rather quickly. I ended up taking my sandwiches to-go, and having them for meals the next few days. They reheat well, and have good flavor. I like having the onions on it for an added texture. Pricing is not terrible. Pat's is more expensive than Geno's by $2 for the same sandwich. My total was $36 after tax for the two sandwiches, making them $18 each. You definitely are paying for the experience and the novelty that is coming to this famous corner of Philadelphia. But, this price is not out of the ballpark of other places in the area. The sandwich is a decent size, and you can definitely get two meals out of it if you are eating it by yourself. So, all that considering, it is a fair value for what you pay. It seemed like most menu items were $20 or under. FYI, they take both cash and card. The staff are quick and efficient. However, it will not be the most friendly or pleasant experience, especially if you do not know how to order. I am not saying that the experience was poor by any means, but be aware that this is not Disney World and they will not be overly kind to you at the order window. Being from Pittsburgh, I had never had a true Philadelphia Cheesesteak sandwich until a few years ago when I visited for the first time. Since that trip, I typically make it a point to stop and get a few sandwiches to take back home with me. I enjoy coming to Pat's for the atmosphere, and the true taste of Philadelphia. I recommend giving it a try at least once, just to say you have had it. Plus, the sandwiches are pretty tasty, too. I will definitely be back here on future trips to South Philly.
