This is an amazing service at a very reasonable price. I don't know the name of who came to my door on time, and changed out 6 locks to a new key, and made me 10 keys for them, all in around 30 min. WOW. He greased all the locks so they work better. He had me check all the keys with all the locks. The total: $232.00 WOW. Don't ever use anyone else, because why would you? read more

This place is amazing!! We had the best experience this past Monday! Ontime, professional, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced!!

I brought a blank Chevy fob to Larrys to get the blade cut. Larry cut the blade, went to the car to make sure it fit, and programmed the fob. The whole thing took no more than 10 minutes. I could not be happier. The service was beyond excellent. Highly recommended. read more

Wonderful service! Came here to cut and reprogram my car key fobs. He says himself he is a perfectionist and he went above and beyond per my situation - reasonable prices, deals ethically, attentive, patient, and friendly! If you need any locksmithing done, I highly recommend Bob!!! read more

I needed a service to come an get my husband's tool bench open. I broke the key off a while ago in the locked position?? I took the reminder little piece of the key to 3 places and no one could do anything with it as far as making a new key. My handyman also told me I'd need a locksmith to get into it. So finally I googled locksmiths and this came up first near me. I checked their reviews then called them. I liked Larry on the phone he was personable and I didn't feel like he was out to screw me. He said they'd do what they could before having to break open the lock.. which ultimately that's what it came down to. I had a tech come who messed around with it a little. The tech was friendly and he went and brought his little pup in my garage (he knew I was an animal lover) so little Koby amused me while he finished. Very nice company to work with. Would definitely recommend! read more

Needed a set of smart locks rekeyed to my old deadbolts and so I called Larry's right when they opened at 8, he said come on down to the shop, and I handed them off and 20 minutes later they were done for a very reasonable price. I know where I'll be going for any locksmith service from here on out... read more

I bought a replacement key case on eBay...swap the transmitter and get it cut. Simple enough. Went to ACE Hardware and got a lecture on how/why/why not he couldn't cut it because it was an outside key (I get it) and they promptly offered to sell us another for $30. No thanks! Called Larry's and he immediacy said he could do it no problem. My wife and daughter brought it over and he was very friendly and talkative. Even though he only stood to make $5 on the cut, my family was treated wonderful. The key worked fine and, even though I don't need much in the way of a locksmith, Larry's will be my default when the need arises. Thanks! read more

Fantastic service. Larry programmed a new key for my 2014 Dodge Dart for $75, instead of the $200 the dealer wanted. Larry even called back later that day to say thank you for the business! Who does that anymore? read more

Needed a replacement key for my Honda Accord, called Larrys and did it in about 15 minutes. awesome service, polite and honorable. Highly recommend. read more

If I could give this review 150 stars I would!! I have an older car (2003 Lincoln) and I lost my only key & fob. Since I'm off this week I finally decided to call Larry's lock service. To add to my stress, the battery was dead & the computer system has an issue. When Bob & Chris came out I know they never expected the nightmare they were going to encounter with my car! 1st they had to give it a jump. After trying several options & working way past the time I know they alloted for the job, they just couldn't get a key programmed. This was not a simple fix. It was getting late so I expected them to give me a bill and send me on my way to the dealership ($$$). Not Bob! He said he would do some research that evening and he & Chris would be back in the morning. Well- "Batman & Robin" a/k/a "Bob & Chris" came back this morning & within minutes I heard my car start up!!! I now have 2 programmed keys & 2 fobs thanks to these guys. Bob was determined to get to the bottom of the issue and he did! He said he's a "stubborn ol guy " who wouldn't give up- I say he's a great guy who cares about his customers, knows his business and is "determined" to get the job done if it's at all possible. If he can't do it he will be honest and tell you he can't, but if there is a way, be assured Bob (Larry's Lock Service) will get the job done with an added benefit: The price is right. Thanks so much Bob & Chris! read more

I called Larry's based on the reviews here. I was not disappointed! Very friendly service. I thought it was reasonably priced. I called for an estimate for rekeying the house we were purchasing. Of course I lost my paper with the estimate...but either way I paid about $100 and everything works great. The icing on the cake for the service was after the keys were made and I was checking them out, we noticed that the door didn't shut properly. Bob took a couple of extra minutes to go to his truck to get a drill and fixed it. It took him about 2 extra minutes but he went above and beyond by doing that. read more

Called for help with a car lockout. They said they were pretty busy already, and gave me a great local referral. Super helpful even when it didn't put $$$ in their pocket! read more

Larry's Lock Service is awesome! Great service and they got the job done at a price lower than I expected. The ignition lock on my 2000 Saturn bit the dust, fortunately when it was in my garage. After working on it a bit an even purchasing the replacement part, my mechanically inclined (though not a trained auto mechanic) husband pronounced the job more than he could do. We called a locksmith service that had good reviews online and they told me a technician would be out that evening. He never showed or even called that night, and all the next day fed me stories that he would be there soon. After a day of waiting and frustration I called some local companies, including Larry's. Bob at Larry's Lock Service said he could replace an ignition lock but didn't normally come out to Joliet and was booked for the next several days in any case. He gave me a few recommendations for other reputable companies near me. When none of those had the expertise or the availability, I called Larry's once again. Bob bent his schedule to accommodate me and came all the way out to my home. He was able to use the part we had already purchased and got the work done quickly. He was great to talk to and genuinely wanted to help me out when other companies had let me down. And, he saved me a lot of money compared to what a dealership would have charged. Thanks again, Bob! read more

I don't think I have ever written a review, but this business deserves it. My daughter locked herself out of her bedroom, so I knew I'd need to call a locksmith. I did a search on our neighborhood online community, and Larry's Lock Service had the highest ratings so I called immediately. I spoke to Bob, who I later found out was the owner. He was very friendly, and made me laugh about what would normally be a very stressful situation. He accommodated my extremely hectic schedule, came by, and was in and out within minutes! This is how you run a business. What a great experience. I highly recommend Larry's Lock Service!!!!! read more

Larrys lock service is great. I have used them for house keys, car keys and lock out services over the years. They are always reliable, trustworthy, a good value and have great customer service. They have been in Bolingbrook for several years and are the only locksmith I will use. read more

Trevor did a great job changing the lock on my front door. I was able to get an appointment on short notice. He took the time to explain why the extra screw placement was important. Bob was so great to work with! He was quick to come onsite to help with a lock issue, offered great customer service and shared some tips to help us out in the future. If we run into any more issues with locks/keys, Larry's Lock Service will definitely be our first call! read more

After calling multiple "locksmiths" that did not have actual stores, I went to Larry's Lock Service. Bob was very professional and helpful. I had four locks changed while I waited in the store. The price was good and the service was fast. Will return! read more

Bob did a great job duplicating a car key with a chip in it. He was done in a few minutes and it cost only $50 - less than half what the car dealer quoted. Call ahead to ensure they'll have the right key for your make and model on hand. Great, friendly service! read more

I received excellent service today from Larry's lock service! Very efficient and professional service. When I initially called, they tried to walk me through the process to unlock the door without their assistance. When I couldn't complete the job on my own, they sent Chris who came to my home. He came immediately and completed the job very efficiently. I will recommend their services to my neighbors because it was a very positive experience. read more

Friendly, helpful and professional service from the initial phone call to the gentleman who came to my house to change my locks. The service was very affordable as well, just over $100 to have three locks changed and five new keys. I wholeheartedly recommend this business. read more

Knowledgeable, professional and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend them! We were given the option to send over photos first to make sure if was something he could fix. Once he arrived we were given other options as opposed to just charging us for more things. Great to know there are still people who provide good service and don't try to rip you off. read more

Excellent Service! I called around town looking for a locksmith to remove a broken key out of my door lock. I called a few places and they either could not come today (sometime next week) or they wanted a service call charge of $125+. I looked on Yelp and found great reviews on Larry's and decided to call. He came over within :30 minutes fixed the lock, showed my mom how to unlock the door (it has weather striping around the door), and even looked at another lock and fixed it for all of $75! I'm happy to say I have a new locksmith! read more

This is the second car that Larry's has resurrected for me. First a 2003 Honda and now a 2000 Jeep. Both times, for way LESS than a dealer, they fixed my ignition lock WITHOUT having to get new keys, or additional keys or anything. They were very fast - they came right out and fixed it before I even got home - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for any lock service - particularly auto! read more

I'm not sure if Larry's is overrun w business now that the word is out but I've called back twice for other jobs since I first used them and it is NOT the same anymore. They say they will "call you back" and it doesn't happen, and you actually feel like you are bothering them when you call in. Disappointed; I love supporting local business but this one has not maintained their friendly standards in the years. read more

He didn't actually help me open or cut anything, but he answered the phone promptly, and pointed me in the direction I needed to go to get my problem fixed, and that's more then at least three other businesses did this morning. He was very genuine and nice, and I appreciate that more the he will ever know. If ever in his area again, will definitely use this honest business. read more

I looked at the reviews and went to Larry's to have my deadbolt rekeyed. It was a painful time for me as my finacee left me for an old boyfriend (big mistake in my opinion), moving out of my house the next morning. Everyone suggested getting the deadbolt rekeyed (it was on the only entryway we used at my house). I had never used a locksmith before. Larry (I assume that was him) was very friendly and efficient, rekeying the deadbolt in less than 2 minutes. When I got there he was working on a bigger order for some one who was waiting when I arrived, but worked me in nevertheless. In the little time I was there, I spoke with that person and he said that though he lives on the South side of Chicago, he travels all the way to Larry's for any lock service. Thank you for making a difficult time a little easier! read more

Fast, efficient, and friendly service at a great cost. Wanted 6 locks rekeyed and not replaced. Gave a fair estimate and didn't try to up-sell me on replacements. Service guy was on time and very efficient. Thank for the great service guys! read more

Didn't catch the name of the guy who helped me but he went above and beyond to make me a spare key (with chip) for my car. Such a thing would normally cost hundreds at the dealership (key w/chip and key fob). But all I needed was the key with some special chip in it which he was charging $75 for. He programmed the chip and cut the key, pretty standard. The problem came when the thick plastic housing of the key wouldn't allow it to fit in the ignition. He could've easily just sold it to me as-is and left for me to trim down and potentially screw up the chip (which I was willing to do). Instead, he did what he could to manipulate it himself and after a few attempts, was able to make it fit! Does the key look like crap? SURE DOES! But will it open and start my car if I lose my main set? SURE WILL! And that's all that matters to me. We did "argue" on the price a little though. He wanted to charge me a fraction of the original cost because it looked so bad but I would've been fine paying full price for it because it worked and he put a lot of effort into making sure it worked. We met in the middle and all was well. 5 stars for service, effort and price! FYI. I typed the address into google maps and it sent me to some place south of I55 on South Frontage Rd. This place is NORTH on NORTH frontage Rd along I55 between Bolingbrook Dr (RT53) and Janes. read more

I lost my key ring (Doh!) and had to have new keys made for my cars. Nearly all current and recent models have anti-theft chips in the key to help prevent theft. These keys are VERY expensive. I got great service from Larry's Lock Service - at a price much more reasonable than the car dealers or even a hardware store. These folks are friendly, fast, very knowledgeable, and courteous. Great service! My daughter lost the only key to her 2002 Ford focus. Her car was in the parking lot at a large store We originally called Plainfield Lock Tech. That technician worked on the locks for over 2 hours. He could make a key to open the door, but it wouldn't start the car. He told me the ignition must not be original, I would need to have it drilled out. I had to have my car towed to my house. A few weeks later I called Larry's. He sent someone out and within the hour my car was started and I had 2 working keys! He was able to get working keys made from the hatchbacks lock. The price was very reasonable and service was excellent! If you need keys made this is the place to call. read more

I have used Larry's Lock Service for lock installment twice, two different homes, and once to unlock a door. Honest is the word I would use, reliable, and reasonable. I will always use them, and recommend them to anyone. They did not try to sell me anything that was not needed, and really were interested in my needs. Thank you Larry's Lock Service! read more

I have never had anyone be more rude to me on the phone than this place. I will never forget it, even though I want to. I thought maybe I had just caught them on a bad day, but nope, they did it to me twice after I gave them another chance. It's a shame too because its very near my house. I will gladly drive 15 miles to another locksmith to avoid this place or anyone who answers its phone. It was so unbelievable that I signed up on Yelp just to write this review so people would know. read more
