There is new ownership and unfortunately I got the haircut anyway. I normally do a 3 on top and skin fade on the sides and back. He didn't understand what I was asking for and the first time he tried to have me get up he hadn't even done the back of my head, only the top and around my ears and told me that's a skin fade. I nicely explained what I was looking for and he cut the back a little shorter and then said its done. I had to go home and fix it for 20 mins, not ideal when I paid $40 for him to do it. Just found out that the new ownership let their best barbers go. When it is so hard to find a reputable, trustworthy, quality barber I can no longer recommend this establishment. Larry's continues to be my go-to barbershop. Larry is only working part time now but has new barbers to help with staffing. Emat is the best and does an excellent haircut and his nephew Abat is a nice young fellow that has a good rep also. Best to call for an appointment if you're near holiday time. Prices are reasonable but remember if you're over 65, haircuts are way cheaper than for the youngsters (those under 65), so check the pricing when you arrive. read more

Loray at Beautiful People cuts the best flat-top at the best price. I drive about 30 minutes one-way for Loray. She only works Mon, Fri, Sat and has a very loyal following. She's been cutting my hair for over 20 years because she knows how to cut the flat top that I like. #1 on the side and #2 on top with softened edges. With short straight hair trimmed close, there's not much room for error. Any mistake will be visible for several weeks. $20 plus a $5 tip makes this cut well worth it. Tried Rudy's (I wore a hat for 3 weeks + it was really expensive. Bellevue Barber Shop on Main St is good too, but more expensive since they moved to the new $$ location. read more

I got a haircut and foil from Mindy at Beautiful People and am very pleased with the result. She's precise and takes her time to do an excellent job. This was my first time getting a cut and color from Mindy, and she spent the first several minutes asking what I wanted and explaining what she recommended, which was a little different than what my previous stylist had done. My hair is very fine and straight, and with Mindy's expertise, it has never looked better. I'll definitely go back to her. read more

I've been looking for the closest to an old-school, simple, and non-pretentious barber in the Bellevue area for a couple of summers now. Finally, I found it here at Larry's. I asked for highlights to my brown hair. I specifically asked that they not be bright and brassy, no white streaks. What I got was blonde hair everywhere! The beautician didn't listen to my requests, but instead bleached my entire head in cheap product that turned a greenish yellow as time passed. My hair was dry and frizzy to say the least. After I found a salon that knew how to properly treat hair, it was clear that this beautician used cheap product and bleached my entire head to create high maintenance in hopes I would have to return over and over. I do not recommend this establishment to anyone!!! They cannot be trusted and will ruin your hair!! read more

Unfriendly and mean. I went here once, terrible cut. Went here on Monday with wet hair pleading to use a hairdryer as mine had just exploded, I'd only been in the US for a short time and didn't know anyone to ask. Had an interview in half an hour. "Hairdresser" just stared at me, said no, needed hers. Just mean, unkind. PS. I offered to pay too. My boyfriend has been going to Larry for several years now, and I've always gotten my hair cuts done at salons or schools. Unfortunately I've never been fully satisfied by the cuts I get these places since I have super short hair and I get tapered clipper cuts. I decided to give Larry at Larrys Barber Shop a go since I'd never tried a barber shop before. I felt a little odd being a girl getting my hair cut at a barber shop, but I'm more than happy with my cut!
