I arrived in Portland in June and by November the gas attendant came over to me one day and told me to quit dropping quarters in the machine. He told me that I stopped in all the time and to just let him know and he would turn it on for me for free. Now, I know this isn't a big deal but customer service just isn't where it used to be so I give him mad props for being proactive in taking care of his customers. I usually fill up here because the prices are typically lower than in Portland but because of this I will try to always stop here before heading back home.

There were separate pumps for semi trucks and RVs in the adjacent lot. The attached am/pm mini mart was well stocked with a nice variety of snacks and beverages. The employees were welcoming and helpful. The restrooms were clean and stocked. Overall very happy with this stop. Everything worked properly and was well stocked out by the pumps. I had a horrible abusive experience at the St. John's Astro gas this morning. I attempted to pump…read moremy own gas and was not sure what amount to select after I had inserted my card. I approached the kiosk where the woman was on the telephone and touched the door. the proceeded to yell at me and tell me that I was not allowed to do that. I backed up and told her that I did not appreciate being treated that way. she proceeded to come out of the kiosk at me arguing. I decided at this point that I did not want to spend my money in a place that had such degrading customer service. I went to get my card and the machine would not let me get it back. i asked her to retrieve my card for me and she just kept yellong that I needed to pull it harder. I tried this for a few minutes and asked her what she wanted me to do? could she call a supervisor. she stated she was the supervisor and she could not get my card because of her finger nails. I continued to pull on the card and eventually the machine let it go. I was traumatized by the event. I do not recommend using this gas station. it's unfortunate because I like to support local businesses.
