By the time I left, I had 4 new tires, and I was $2,450.00 further in debt. The tires are great, the installation went fine. So, what's the problem? When I got back to Portland, I discovered that BigO stores no longer exist in the metro area! So any "free" services that other tire stores offer (most important to me is rotation and balancing) are not available locally. The nearest authorized BigO dealer is a three hour drive from here! When I contacted corporate (no) service, I learned that they do not have any agreements with any installers or stores locally to honor what they promised. To add insult to injury, they also told me that since I didn't spend MORE money for a service agreement, I was not entitled to and free rotation or balancing service, even at the BigO 200-plus miles away. I paid just as much in Nevada for the tires as I would have here, BUT, unlike every other tire dealer I've ever dealt with (COSTCO, Discount Tire, Les Schwab) rotation and balancing are not a service included in the price. More research showed that BigO is a division of Midas, which is a division of some other big corporation or holding company. In other words, BigO customers are dealing with some conglomerate that could not care less. Out of their extreme generosity, they've agreed to send me a $25.00 gift card for my troubles; the average cost of tire rotation and balancing in the Portland area ranges from $77-$100 each time. That 25 bucks is nearly an insult. I cannot recommend their services at all. It's a BIG ZERO for Big O.

When I brought it back to your attention, the response I got was, "OK boss, your choices are run it through one more time, and that's all we can do," delivered in a clearly dismissive and sarcastic tone. No effort was made to inspect the issue, scrub the area, or offer any actual solution. What stood out most was the attitude. From the moment I arrived, it felt like my presence was an inconvenience, and asking about the quality of a service I paid for was somehow unreasonable. If the wash was never capable of removing the spots, that should have been communicated honestly before taking payment. Running the car through the exact same wash again without addressing the problem was obviously not going to produce a different result -- and it didn't.
