We were initially referred to SL Orthodontics over three years ago by our son's dentist because…read moresome of his teeth were not coming in well and they wanted us to consult an orthodontist. I fully expected to be told we needed braces for our son ASAP, however Dr. Huang had our business for life when he recommended waiting 12-18 months until a few more molars came in and we had a better sense of how our son's adult bite was developing. I appreciated his candor about waiting versus braces immediately and then likely having to do another round of orthodontics a few years later. He also provided a very balanced assessment of what type of braces to get, which I appreciated. Just about two years since he got braces, our graduates to a retainer today and I've been extremely happy with the process. Highly recommend.

I did it, got the retainers that 2 assistants could NOT put in my mouth and even thought they were the wrong ones, And the Dr jammed them in and said they are great, my teeth were the problem. Anyway they called 2 days later to say the insurance denied the claim. I told them they had lied to me and swindled me out of my money. The office lady said that there is NOTHING that could be done and I can call Delta insurance and get more details. Well I didn't take that, I spoke to the Doctor who ASSURED me that they would file the claim again and he was sorry I was lied to..... well it's been 10 days and crickets. No refund, no claim has even been filed, my money was just kept .... Super shady office lesson of the day: don't front any money!

I previously had some pretty traumatic experiences from a prior dental experience at another dentistry, and I knew a lot of my anxiety was coming from that specific experience along with a few sensory sensitivities I had. Thankfully, my journey here has been amazing, and such a healing journey emotionally and physically! Initially I was going to need a root canal but after seeing that there was a more conservative route we can take to preserve my tooth, a different plan was recommended for me. I also got 2 silver fillings replaced where they had cracked & needed adjustment.I love the subtle cosmetic enhancement it gives my smile while also protecting my teeth. From red light therapy to ozone injections, I was impressed with how much 1:1 attention, care, and intentionality went into my health plan. They don't see you as a one size fits all, they take their time to understand the problem and see what the options are. Their transparency, honesty, and genuine patient care manner was such a breath of fresh air. my husband and I were relieved we found a dental provider who listened & took the time to give us a thorough understanding of what our teeth needed. Even when I mentioned I was nervous, Dr. Mark took the time to ask me what made me nervous, gave me reassurance before starting any work and that alone helped me leave feeling lighter. For my sensory sensitivities, I did bring my headphones to listen to music but they also gave the cutest menu where you can select items to make you more comfortable so I chose a lap pillow lol. All of the assistants were amazing & so sweet, very professional & kind. The receptionists were also very professional, very thorough explaining invoices & procedures. My teeth had always been straight- I wasn't aware they had shifted. They didn't look any different to me. But they were changing and I found out my bite was severely off, bu at least 60%+! Dr. Busquet is treating a close friend as well. We both love seeing him. He is very personable, gentle, and patient. You can tell he loves what he does. Luckily for me, he is also a specialist including TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint). I had been clenching my teeth for years and had a special retainer at night, but it wasn't helping and my gums had been receding for several years too. My dentists and hygienists told me it was due to something I wasn't doing to care for my teeth. But Dr. Busquet informed me there was nothing I could do to make the situation better because of the way my teeth were positioned! ( what?!) When he showed and explained the X-rays to me, I was in shock. Who knew?!! He said I was losing bone in my jaw as well- which could grow back if my teeth were repositioned. My dentists never mentioned anything like this. After due diligence researching braces, I realized a lot of dentists can provide Invisalign at what seems to be bargain prices. BUT, what they dont tell you is that the liners are only one part. It doesn't include everything you will need; once they provide everything, the price will be higher or they will leave some things out. Once I realized what the entire process required, I understood I needed an orthodontist, and preferably a specialist. My last two dentists never said anything to me about me needing braces and they are both top tier Invisalign providers! Wowzers. I am just finishing my treatment. Now I see the difference! :o) Once I started wearing braces, my jaw stopped clenching. My migraine headaches got so much better and my gums stopped receding. They have been so patient with me. I had to double my treatment time because I couldn't keep them in my mouth as long as I was supposed to. But, they never made me feel bad about it. The front office staff is wonderful. I couldn't ask for better, kinder or more professional staff. They are simply the best.
